I am 25 days post-op and getting very frustrated.
Although I've lost 27 lbs. so far including 10 pre-op, I seem to be stuck, gaining and losing the same 1/2 pound since Monday. I don't understand is since I am doing everything right, exercise, diet, protein, etc. Has anyone else gone through this?? (I get my first fill on Tuesday):cursing:

Don't be too hard on yourself, the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver and get you used to thinking about your food choices. A lot of us slip. Good luck with your surgery. I am three weeks post surgery and down 25 lbs. (10 pre-op)
and very happy with my decision.

I weighed myself this morning 218 lbs, I have lost 25 lbs so far including the pre-op.
Was hungry again today, but I've noticed that when I do not have the protein shakes for snacks I get more hungry. P.S. Diet jello with a tsp. of fat free cool whip is my favorite evening snack.
I still have two weeks until my first fill.

Hope everything went well with your surgery, the first few days are the hardest, but you'll be up and around soon.

Hi Dana
I was banded on April 12. There is really nothing to be scared about. I was a little nervous about the anesthesia, the last thing I remember after the gave me the anesthesia was, "Oh boy thus stuff isn't working" the next thing I knew I was in recovery and needing to go to the bathroom. The post op pain wasn't too bad either, they gave me painkillers in the hosp. and just tylenol when I got home. Try to relax and GOOD LUCK!

are you eating enough protein? I was also hungry after my first week, but I find that eating enough protein makes a big difference, I started adding the whey protein powder to whatever I was eating.

Now that I am healing I find I am also getting hungrier. Is this normal. I followed my diet exactly today, making sure I had enough protien, water, etc. and my stomach was growling! I don't get my first fill for three weeks, I though you were supposed to feel less hungry.

What are you eating? Are you eating enough protein, that's what makes you feel full.

:confused:It is eleven days since my surgery, and generally I have been very happy with my progress. I have not been hungry at all until today. I don't know if it was because I did not have enough protein, but I felt hungry between lunch an dinner. I am also a little concerned because there seems to be a lump where the port is. Is this normal??

Tomorrow will be one week since I got my band. :thumbup:After a false start (I was supposed to go in on March 29, and was postponed for two weeks because the Dr. heard a wheeze.) I was a little discouraged. After one week I feel good, I've lost 20 lbs. (including the 10 I lost on the pre-op diet which I had to continue for an add'l two weeks after I was postponed) I have to say I was not as diligent the second two weeks on pre-op diet, in fact I had two "last" dinners! I feel a little sore, but better each day. The biggest problem this week has been boredom since I am used to working, and I was not even able to walk my dogs. Tomorrow I go back to work for a few hours. I also have to say my friends and co workers have been VERY supportive which has meant a lot. My husband has also been very helpful and supportive. I think my biggest problem so far has been getting enough protein, and I wonder if I am eating enough. I find it tough to drink two protein drinks a day as recommended so I am adding protien powder to the foods I've been eating, 1/2 cup of protien for breakfast and about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of soup twice a day. I am not hungry, but get very gassy after I eat.
Weight is not going down fast enough
