  1. Hello My Friend! How are you doing with the band? You need to let me know what's going on with you. My sweet baby boy has really kept me busy the last couple of weeks so I haven't been on too much. I know why the Good Lord gives us babies while we're younger......ENERGY! I don't have it like I once did. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Take care. Blessings......Pat

  2. Hi Paigey! I'm a week out. Not the most pleasant week I've ever had, but I survived. I was very swelled until Saturday. That is a miserable feeling. I've not had ankles that big since I was pregnant with mu first child! My legs were very shiney. I think I am doing okay.

The way the the dates fall, I won't get a fill until 12/1! I'm not happy about that but can't do anything about it.

    How are you doing?

  3. Thank you for your positive outlook! It is so uplifting to me. I am four days post-op and not in the best of moods so I really enjoyed reading your post and blog. I subscribed to your blog because I think you might be helpful to me. I look forward to reading more. Blessings, PitPat (Pat)

  4. Hi, my name is Pat and I am the oldest member on this journey. I'm an Alabama girl that lives on the Georgia line. If I walk a couple of blocks down the road, I can stand in both Alabama and Georgia at the same time. I have been overweight all my life. Since I've had three back surgeries, I know I can't afford to gain any more weight. I have a lot of living to do so I need shed this access baggage. My three children are grown, all my grandchildren are grown...except for a six year old, and one of my grand daughters & her hubby just had a little boy.....I'm a great grandmother! But I'm young at heart and I want to do more in the rest of my life. Oh! And I do have sweetest most understanding husband of nearly 47 years that stands beside me in anything I want to do (within reason). It's good to 'hear' from all of you. Keep the posts coming.

  5. Hello! It's me. I went to see my surgeon yesterday. My date is set for 10/18. I wish it was last week.lol....She and her staff are very nice and answer any quirky question I might have. I will be on Slim Fast for one week before surgery! I'm shocked!! The nutritionist said it would be clear liquids for two weeks before surgery. Hello....Which reminds me...Did you have to pay extra and separate for the nutritionist? My fee is $600!! And insurance doesn't cover it. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm still in sticker shock! I would appreciate any advice. I hope you all are doing well with the surgeries. Please let me hear from you. It is very comforting to know I;m not alone.

  6. Hi! my name is Pat (PitPat) and I noticed that you are from Decatur, Ga. I am using Dr. Srinivasan at Emory University and was curious who you are using. I live in Alabama, on the Georgia line. I'm 64 yrs. young (lol) and hope to have my surgery in the next few weeks. I go Wenesday (9/22) to set up the surgery date. I can't help but be a little nervous, but I am ready to change my life for the better. I would love to hear more about your experience getting to this point. I look forward to hearing from you and the best of success in your weight loss. Pat

  7. Just wanted to let you know that there is a support group in LaGrange, Georgia at West Georgia Medical Hospital.

  8. Thank you so much for filling me in. I know I am a LOT older than you (64) but I can learn a lot from you. Did you have to go to the Nutrition Class? What did you think about it? I was not impressed. I guess I had my hopes set too high, but everything the girl talked about, I had already read on the internet. There is so much information out there. Oh, did you have to pay the $600.00?

Tell me more about yourself, if you don't mind. I am married (nearly 47 yrs.), I have 3 grown children, 5 grandchildren and my grand-daughter and her husband will make us Great-Grandparents tomorrow! I am very involved in all their lives and enjoy them to the hilt!! Anyway, that's my life and I love it!

Talk to you later. Keep me posted. Pat

  9. Hi Paigey! My name is Pat and we have the same surgeon! I am thrilled! I was beginning to think I was the only one that was using her and I was a little worried. Do you know when your surgery might be? I see her on 9/22 for the surgery set-up. I've had all the pre-op tests but it took until yesterday to get them all faxed to the office. I live in Alabama...right on the Georgia line. In fact , if I walk about two blocks down, I can stand in West Point, Ga and Lanett, Al. You are lucky to be so close to the surgeon. If you will, let me hear more about you and when you are having surgery. I look forward to hearing from you. Pat

  10. Congratulations!!! I know you are very excited and I am excited for you. You are a very pretty young lady and it will be a snap for you. Please keep us updated on your progress before and after. God bless!

  11. Congratulations on your surgery date! It must seem like a dream. I am sure you will do great.

    God Bless,

    PitPat
