  1. MAJOR SETBACK MAYBE...

Well I woke up at 5 am this morning to drive from Wichita Falls to Dallas and made it early for my appt , a pre surgical consult with Dr. Jay and sure enough something came up. I thought that I had done everything right. I lost 7 pounds since my TLC nutrition consult, had my approval, and BAM my lab work came back out of range, I am absolutely devastated, we did more labs today to see if maybe I wont have to change the date, but if they are still bad(anemic), then my surgery has to be pushed back. I have waited for this for sooo long. I do realize its for my health, but I can't stop thinking about how 1 lil thing has put a stop to my progress. I cried all the way home. Do you know how hard it is to drive 136 miles with tears in your eyes. Sorry to be such a downer today, but I feel uncertain about my fwd progress. If I get pushed back, I may just take a break, get my lab work in check, and consider gastric bypass (even tho I feel this is the easy way out right now). I know this is bandsters, but has anyone else had RNY. Supposedly here in Wichita Falls we have 1 of the best surgeons for that in the nation. I dont know? I'm just gonna lay down, try not to think about today and pray that I get good news within the week.

    Thanks for listening. Alicia

P.S. My daughter was with me today, and when we got in the car she said "mommy I like u just the way u are, but I know u are hurt about the bad news" and just gave me the biggest hug ever. Thank goodness I did something right...

  2. Wow, thank you so much everyone for your input. I have definately added a few things to my list, (not hubby or car approved yet, lol) I just want things to run smoothly on surgery day, as the days pass, I keep waivering from excited to anxiety.

On the upside I have take to the Wii - My fitness coach (name of the game) for some exercise and stress relief and it has help, not sure if I have lost any weight, as I am trying to hold out to get weighed on the day of surgery. Once again any and all tips are welcome:biggrin:

  3. Mine is tomorrow!

Ok, I'm actually strangely calm. I am more excited about the end result.

I should be petrified since I've never been under, although I've had 2 c-sections, so I've been through abdominal surgery before...

The pre-op diet was ok. The only tough part was was today when I was on a clear liquid diet. I was SO hungry and lightheaded ALL DAY! Tomorrow should be easier since I'm guessing I won't have much of an appetite.

I can't wait to start the rest of my life!

Good luck to you Soy, u will be in my prayers

  4. Today kicks off softball season for my daughter. She has a tryout with a new team this afternoon so keep your fingers crossed for her. She hates this part of the season. The last two years the teams she has played for has "dis-banded" after the end of the season so we are on the look for another team. It is really hard to bust your butt to find out you did not make the team and then have to do it all over again the next week for another team. Have a great Sunday and good luck to all you March 1 and 2 bandsters!!!!

Thats awesome, my daughter is 13 and she also plays softball, We have our first tournament this weekend in DFW metroplex. We are excited as we have been practicing since last oct with her New team. Well keep in touch with her and your success. :wink2:
