  1. Unfortuantely, it applies in Texas, also. I have tried and I am told by my agent the only way I can get insured is to go thru my job or my spouse. It has been over a year without a single problem. I was not insurable at 250 or 294 because my height/weight proportions were not good, now that I am below 200 (finally) I am not insurable. I sure wish someone would explain to me why! It makes no sense to me at all! The government complains because we are an obese society and when we take whatever means necessary to get healthy we are still penalized. We can't win. My cobra was costing me $800.00 a month for my child and myself. I couldn't do it. I want some answers!
