  1. It depends on what type of "liquid" diet you are following. I have to follow a clear liquid diet (fat free broth, sugary free jello, sugar free popsicles and water/crystal light) for 7 days after surgery, then move to full liquids, which all listed above and milk, yogurt and low-fat creamy strained soup. I bought low-fat tomato soup and cream of potato soup (to be strained) for the next week of the diet.
  2. I also have had horrible issues in the bathroom, it's completely liquid and will be the color of the Isopure that I'm drinking that day. Hopefully it becomes more solid and things will get back to normal!
  3. Ugh, you were allowed to continue with your pill? I had to stop 2 weeks before surgery and can't start up again until a month after surgery.
  4. I knew I was staying over the night, so I had my bag packed and ready to go. I have liquid perocet, but I only took it the 1st day home. My incisions aren't bad, my son is scared a little of them (he's 3) but other than that. I'm just waiting for this gas to go away and I'll feel much better!
  5. I also had a hiatal hernia repair and my left shoulder and back pain has been horrible. The worst pain by far. I'm hoping if I keep passing gas it will go away, but for now, I'm not feeling super hot.
  6. I had surgery on Tuesday and I honestly can not stomach any more broth or jello. The only thing that I'm doing ok with is popsicles. I was clear liquids for 2 days prior to surgery and 7 days after. I seriously get nausea with the smell of broth at this point. How the heck am I going to make it 4 more days. Ugh!
  7. Congrats to everyone! I was banded on Tuesday and honestly, I'm still struggling with my pain, but hopefully that goes away soon
  8. I'm here! Banded on the 3rd. I had a hernia when they went in, so my pain is a little higher than expected after the surgery. I stayed over in the hospital and got home yesterday around 11:00. My gas pain in my left shoulder and chest have been pretty terrible, it's preventing me from sleeping much at all. Overall, had a pretty easy trip and I'm ready to move forward. Hope everyone else is hanging in there!
  9. I'm 2 days post-op and I have glue
  10. I would call your doctors office and talk to them about what you ate to be certain. The worst thing that can happen would be going in there and get turned away. At least you can be upfront with them and see what they say. Good luck.
  11. Each insurance is different. I had to do a 6 month supervised diet, and my 1st month was counted. I started in February and went through July. Good luck.
  12. What did you bring with you? I have to stay 1 night and I was curious on what I should pack? Slippers, comfortable outfit, toiletries, a few books? I can't think of anything else. My big day is tomorrow and just want to be prepared! Thanks.
  13. I need a buddy to go through the journey with. Anyone want to join together and keep our encouragement going?
  14. I am allowed to add fruit both fresh and frozen to my shakes and skim milk instead of Water. Those two things have saved me for sure. My favorite is pineapple and banana shakes w/ my vanilla Protein powder w/ milk & ice. Also, I started a peaches and strawberry shake which is pretty delicious as well Good luck, take it one day at a time. I am 4 days away from surgery and have stuck with the pre-op 100% and I feel good about going into my surgery.
  15. Hi, I found the weekends to be easier actually because I said really busy cleaning, cooking for the family and just going out with the family to stay busy. Good luck!
  16. Congrats!! Best of luck and looking forward to following you as you achieve your goal!
  17. I was making my family some really good Pasta dish last night and it smelled and looked delicious. I was SO close to licking the spoon, but I didn't. I do not want any problems getting turned away for surgery and really want to keep my mind in the game for post-op. Best of luck!
  18. I still can not believe I have gotten to this point. I honestly never thought I would have stuck out for 6 months (insurance requirement) to be almost 5 days away from weight loss surgery. I am extremely nervous and very unsure of what the future will bring, but I am ready and looking forward to the unknown. I can not promise I will post everything that I am going through, but I will do my best.
  19. I'm doing the 3 shakes a day, fat-free broth, sugar free jello and popsicles and plain cooked or raw veggies. I have to say, I'm doing fine with it, but I seriously can not stomach another protein shake. Ugh! The shakes taste good, I can add fruit to it, which helps. But I just don't want anything. I feel like I'm not hungry and just don't have a deserve to eat the shakes Did anyone else go through this? I'm 1/2 way through my 12 day pre-op and getting prepared for my 8/3 surgery. Can someone spare some encouragement?
  20. Best of luck! I'm 9 days until my surgery and I'm getting that nervous/anxious and excited feeling all in one. STAY POSITIVE!
  21. I think it is normal to have these feelings. I'm getting banded 8/3 and I'm 3 days into my pre-op diet I am having those feeling. I am pushing through one day at a time and I know when my day comes, I will be "ready". My son is 3 and I want nothing more than to spend every day with him and have a great life with my family.
  22. I have oatmeal listed on my pre-op diet to be mixed (after cooking) with the vanilla baratric advantage powder. I'm curious if you have to blend this like the other protein drinks, or is it just a mix of the ingredients together? Did anyone have anything similar?
  23. I start tomorrow - I'm on 3 Protein shakes a day, 1 control bar, veggies (steamed/raw, no adds), sugar free Jello, Popsicles, and fat free broth. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE, WE CAN DO IT.
