  1. For the last 2 nights that I've taking my multivitamin (Baratric Advantage) I have felt sick to my stomach, almost to the point of feeling like I was going to get sick. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I been taking these while I eat?
  2. WOW, congrats on the move to solid foods!! Very jealous :smile2: I'm still in my pureed stage until Tuesday when I can move onto mushy food. Thanks for the info regarding the chest pressure! That's a good tip to know. Did you get your 1st fill yet? If not, did you get your date scheduled for the fill?
  3. 1). I am 16 days post op and started the "pureed" stage yesterday. I tried chicken, carrots and mashed potatoes, I gotta say, the chicken, I did not even touch, I couldn't do it. I did have a few spoons of mashed potatoes and also the carrots. I am not liking the pureed stage. I start soft foods on Tuesday and honestly, don't think I will be doing a lot of pureed foods this week. I am fine with Soups, my chobani yogurt, Protein shakes and etc. Did anyone else not do well with pureed foods? 2.) I dropped 18.5lbs since my pre-op diet and feel like the last week or so, my scale hasn't moved. I'm not sure why. I have been tracking my calories, and they are around 500-600 a day. I ran yesterday and burned about 280 calories, do you think I need to increase my calories at this point? 3). I do not feel any restriction.... Is that normal not to feel that way? I am really not that hungry, so when I eat, I'm ok after a few bites.... I wonder if it's more mental than anything else? I'm wondering if I will feel different after my 1st fill. It is scheduled for 8/3. Thanks for listening, I don't know why, but I feel like I'm missing something!
  4. I started yesterday, it was a good workout my thighs are killing me this morning! My next day is Thurs. morning. Good luck to everyone, let me know if we want to start a thread to discuss our runs.
  5. I have 2 bariatric multi-vitamins a day and will start calcium chewables next week when I hit the mushy food stage.
  6. My doctor told me he does 3cc's at 1st visit and then reevaluate when I go in monthly for the follow ups.
  7. I was going to just say protein shakes are big for me right now. I'm drinking at least one a day, which has 35g of protein in a shake. I am also eating Chobani non-fat plain yogurt w/ splenda and that has 18g of protein in a 6oz container.
  8. Wow, I'm not even in the pureed stage yet, I start the pureed tomorrow for 7 days, then move to mushys for 7 then regular foods. I made chicken breasts, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots for dinner tonight, I will puree them up tomorrow in my magic bullet for lunch.
  9. I am able to move over to pureed foods on Tuesday :cursing: Hopefully that will help! Those smoothies sound good, I can't have fruit yet, but soon enough
  10. Ok, so I'm 12 days post op and I'm finally starting to feeling "hungry". I had a shake for breakfast around 8:00 and then had lunch around 1:30 (soup) and then have had non-fat plain greek yogurt around 4:00, more soup again around 6:00 and am hungry again.. grrr... I hope I do not enter into bandster hell before my 1st fill on the 3rd!
  11. You have no protein shakes included in your diet?
  12. It's a great 9 week program that teaches you how to run. It builds up your endurance by following certain walk/run program 3x a week for 9 weeks. Here's the website for more info. I start tomorrow :cursing: Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan
  13. I was banded on 8/3 Pin : 262A1072
  14. Bunny, I'm not eating tums at all. My Multivitamin tastes like a tum
  15. I'm starting the Couch to 5K program this coming week and found some great podcasts to download that break down the times for you. Anyone else try this program to get started with running? I use to ran about 7 years ago then had knee surgery and never picked it up. I'm hoping this will get me started again!
  16. Yes for sure! Most of the time when I get together with friends, its over lunch or meeting for dinner. They all understand and we have been doing things non-food related.
  17. How is everyone doing with their multivitamins daily? The ones I have by baratric advantage are OK, I feel like I'm eating grape flavored tums sometimes, but I'm chewing them down.
  18. Sorry, I'm confused. I start pureed foods in a few days and I want to go shopping for what I need this weekend. I'm super confused. Its seems that the lines are blurred for pureed and mushy foods. I am starting just the pureed stage. What do I age? Do make a regular dinner for my family and puree the food for myself? Sorry, I find that the foods that we can / can not eat seem to the be the most confusing thing.
  19. I don't have port pain per say, but the incision for the port is very painful, if I do too much bending, it starts to get very very sore.
  20. I could not stomach the meal replacement powder shakes that I did pre-op. I had my follow up today and bought the ready to drink, PureProtein shakes in chocolate peanut butter and cookies and cream. Much more tolerable than the powder.
  21. Did you blend the ricotta bank together? Also, did you puree the beans and egg salad?
  22. If you search through the other forums here, there is a nutritionist one that has a lot of great recipe ideas.
  23. I had my post-op appointment w/ my Dr. today. He said everything looks good. I can start pureed foods Tuesday and I scheduled my 1st fill for Sept. 3rd. I go in monthly to visit and discuss fills/unfills to get to my sweet spot. I asked him about the pain I'm having right in the middle and he said it was from the retractors with the liver and should go away in the next couple of days. Keep walking to get the rest of the gas out. I was also cleared for exercise, no limit, which is exciting! I can't wait to start Couch to 5K. I was given the Ok to move to ready to make Protein shakes and bought a few by Pure Protein they have 35g of protein in each shake. So, I think I'm on my way! How's everyone else doing?
  24. I received 3 different post op diets, very, very similiar from my 1st appointment, then when I saw my nutritionist and then again right before surgery. One of them lists Carnation Instant breakfast no sugar added as an option for Stage 2 (Full-Liquids) which I'm on. Did anyone else have this during this stage? I would love to be able to branch out a little bit and would be interested in having this if it's OK.
