  1. I'm in it right now! I go for my 1st fill today and I'm exactly 1 month post op. The past week has been very challenging for me to get through the days because I still have that hungry feeling shortly after eating. I am hoping to get relief today, however, I know most people don't really feel anything until the 2nd or 3rd fill.
  2. Happy 4 Month Anniversary! Looking forward to having the same goals met soon
  3. I have been working SO hard towards my 1st fill. I have been eating so well, really watching everything that goes in my mouth, I have been running a consistently at least 3x a week with walking and family outings on the weekends. I have dropped 21 lbs since my sugary on 8/3 but I have platued and haven't see it move in 2 weeks. I am SO looking forward to my fill to help me get to where I am seeing a difference with the scale. Anything I should be prepared for with my 1st fill? My PA told me I need to follow a liquid/mushy diet for 3 days after my 1st fill and then should be good to go.
  4. It's ALL my fault. I was chatting with my boss this morning and eating pieces of hard boiled egg and didn't realize I must have been eating fast and larger pieces. I started getting pressure in my chest and felt the PB coming on. I went into the bathroom and it came right up and everyone is right, it's like mucus like. I walked a bit and still had that feeling, so again went into the bathroom PB again and felt better. I can tell you right now, I never EVER want to have that happen again so I will be really diligent and careful about size and speed of food. BLAH!
  5. Has anyone ever tried papaya enzyme chewable pills? My doctors office swears up and down to use these if you have food stuck etc. to help break everything down.
  6. Hi Amber, My 1st fill is the 1st and he told me they typically put in 3cc's, I have no idea how big my band is, do you? I am starting to get really hungry as well, but really make the right food choices and my running has really made me feel good. How are you doing?
  7. Good luck! My 1st fill is scheduled for Friday the 3rd. I'm having the same feelings
  8. How did you find running on the treadmill? I'm joining the gym this weekend and will be doing my couch 5k that way opposed to running outside? Do you find yourself having problems switching it up between the intervals? Do you keep a steady walking level and just run over the speed?
  9. I've had knee surgery on my right knee and when I started running again, my doctor said to just nurse if it's starting to bother me and I also started doing some yoga stretches that have helped.
  10. I've never tried those. I eat Chobani plain non-fat with 1 packet of splenda. It has 18g protein in a 6oz container
  11. I will be one month post op on Sept. 3rd. My 1st fill is scheduled for that day. I have been on mushy foods for about 3 days now and I seem to be doing fine. I feel a little bit more hungry at this stage, but with getting in 1 or 2 protein shakes a day with my other foods, I seem to be doing well. I have been tracking my calorie intake on myfitnesspal.com mainly to keep my protein on track and I have been around 700-900 calories and have been exercise 3x a week with running. I see no weight loss. I lost 20 lbs initially and have stalled. My clothes are definitely looser, even to the point where I need to go down a size in a lot of them, but the scale hasn't moved. Is it because I'm not getting enough calories? My protein intake is anywhere from 70-100 grams a day. Will things be different after my fill? I feel like I'm working very hard and do feel good w/ my loose clothes, but wishing the scale would move. Thanks for your input!
  12. Is it possible you are eating too fast? I had salmon last night (1/3 of the fillet:blink:) and some 5 asparagus tips and it literally took me 30 minutes to eat just that. I hate very small pieces of everything and I stopped after 30 minute and was fine. No problems with shallowing.
  13. I pulled two out that I made (medium size), I would compare it to slightly larger golf ball. I broke it up a few times and just eat very, very small pieces. I think I measured it to be about 1 whole meatball that I ate.
  14. I had 1 turkey meatball w/ home made tomato sauce. It was delicious
  15. I have no idea, I tried a few places like CVS and Target and I was told by the pharmacist that it was recalled.
  16. I had horrible chest pressure & pain when breathing in deep. It took about 12 days for the pain to go away. Best of luck
  17. I had the same fears, I have a 3 yr old and I was very upset about leaving him for the surgery. However, it happened so quick and when I woke up I never thought twice about the fact that I just had surgery. Best of luck!
  18. WOW, I'm really surprised by this poll. When I weighed in at my surgery I was 205.5. However, I am 4'9 and my BMI was 42, does that not qualify me for surgery? I disagree and so would my insurance company.
  19. I used bariatric advantage protein shakes and honestly, they didn't keep well in the fridge. I did it 2 days in a row and the color changed in the shake and I was a little turned off by it.
  20. Great job! Did you find that you did each week once, or did you feel like you had to go back and restart a week at all? I am doing my 3day of Week 1 tomorrow and I'm curious if I will be able to move on to Week 2
  21. I never got paperwork indicating I could not take a bath or go swimming. Is this normal to have to wait?
  22. WOO HOO! Congrats! I can't wait for my 1st fill, I'm scheduled for 9/3. Best of luck going forward with your journey!
  23. I was required to go through 6 months insurance before having the surgery. My insurance company required that I get a PCP referral. Basically I meet with my PCP (I had only seen for about 5 months at this part) and discussed my history and was there for about an hour. After that, she felt comfortable writing my referral letter.
  24. Ditti Spoiltmom - Most insurance companies will not look at the surgery until you're BMI is at least 35. I was at 41 BMI due to my height. I weighted at surgery 205.5 and I am 4'9.
  25. I am going to start weight watchers in 2 weeks when I am able to start eating "normal" foods again. I want to get this weight off and I am very anxious to get started as well. We can do a support group if you want to do WW as well and we can keep each other determined and encouraged!
