So sorry that you had such a rough time. I'm glad that you are feeling better now though. Yes, it is just a small setback. That is what I keep telling myself. This pain and suffering will all be over with soon and will be so worth it in the end.

I'm back home today after having surgery yesterday. The 3 hour drive home about did me in. Overall, I am doing okay. I can tell when 4 hours has passed without looking at the clock because my pain meds are wearing off. But, I must say that this laproscopic procedure was far less painful than my previous one. This afternoon I am having shoulder pains from the gas, but they are tolerable. I bought some of the Gas-X strips and have been using those. I have been walking and the gas is passing so hopefully I will feel better soon. I have been having some nausea even with the Scoplamine patch on, but I think that this may be from the gas as well. Warm fluids seem to ease my stomach so I've been sipping on those. It takes awhile for me to get my shake down. So I feel like I am drinking all the time between trying to get my protein and my water intake in. I hope all of those that have had surgery are doing well and good luck to those coming up. Sandy

Well, I must say that I am so excited. I posted earlier about losing 10 pounds since Sunday, but I took my measurements and couldn't be more excited. Neck - 0.5 inches, Arm - 0.25 inches, Thigh - 1.5 inches, Breast - 2.75 inches,:cursing: Waist - 2 inches, Hips - 2 inches for a total of 9 inches lost in 6 days. YIPPEEE, for me. lol Hey if any of you guys hasn't found it on your own you can go to realizemysuccess.com and find a website set up by the makers of the realize band (Johnson and Johnson). You can log your food diary, record your weight and measurements and a bunch of other features. I really am enjoying using it and it is free.

My doctor and dietician both said I could add extracts, sugar-free syrups, etc. You can buy the Da-Vinci syrups that really help. I can't stand the vanilla either, but I have found that if I add 1 tbsp. of sugar-free caramel ice cream topping to it that it helps the flavor tremendously. They also said that you can add sugar-free pudding mix to your shakes to add texture and flavor. I tried the sugar-free cheesecake added to a strawberry shake and found it to be way to sweet for me, but you might like it. I was just told to experiment with flavors. I hope you find something you like. I'm still working on this as well.

On day 6 of pre-op diet. I've been doing good and have actually lost 10 pounds since I started. I'm sure most of it is water weight, but I will take weight loss however it comes. Surgery is next Friday and I am starting to get nervous. Mostly ready to get this journey started and to get some days off of work.:cursing: Some of you guys are getting so close. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts this weekend because I am sure you guys are more nervous than I am. Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

My diet is a 10 day diet: Days 1 - 7: Breakfast Protein Meal Replacement shake Mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and bedtime snack Protein Bar or drink lunch and dinner half of a protein meal replacement shake 2 - 4 ounces lean meat 1/2 cup non-starchy vegetable or 1 cup salad with low-fat dressing. And of course 64 ounces of de-caf, sugar-free liquid. Days 8 - 10: Liquids

I have Tri-Care South and my surgery was approved 2 days after the doctor submitted it. My height is 5'8" and I weigh 269. My co-morbidities are Severe OSA and joint pain. I have also been started on medication because my blood pressure has just now started to creep up there. For me it was alot easier than I thought it would be. I'm sorry that some of you are having difficulty. I hope it works out for you. Sandy

I'm going to be a June Bandster as well. My banding date is June 4th. I think I'm more nervous about the pre-op diet than anything else. I'm not worried about failing. I can lose weight, I just can't keep it off. I've been off of all sodas for the last two weeks, now if I could just get use to not having anything to drink with my meals, I will have to of my demons beat. I am looking forward to taking this journey with all of you guys and good luck.
