Overweight!!
I just wanted to scream out on my LBT blog about how I'm no longer Obese, I'm just plain old Overweight. wOOOhOOOO!! Being 14 weeks pregnant, I havent gained weight, infact I've dropped a pound every 2 or 3 weeks. BUT, my clothes are getting tight, so I'm glad I didnt get a chance to throw my fat clothes away!! My skinny jeans are getting too tight around my tummy, so I have to go back to my bigger size, problem is the a$$ is so baggy, I look stupid. So, I bought a nice comfy skirt, and I'm thinking about buying some more....

Keeping my head focused on the REAL goal!!
I get nakey before a weigh in at home. kekeke. Today I stood on the scale with clothes (was busy), and it said what it did yesterday when I was nakey. So that means, I lost some weight!! I cant wait for tomorrow when I take a shower (and have to get nakey again, so can have a quick peek at the scale again!!)

Is 5cc a lot?
I'd only say it's alot because you are pregnant. I think 5cc's in one fill is a bit crazy too. I mean, I thought the whole point was working your way up, until you reach the perfect amount. Then your body gets used to it/you lose some weight, so you get a little more, etc etc. I got 2 fills for 3.5 ccs, and got 1 cc out when I found out I was pregnant. So with 2.5cc's, I've still lost 10+ pounds (I cant remember, I havent been keeping track how much I lost since I got pregnant). I dont feel restricted, but I still eat 1/3 of what I used to. If you feel fine being so restricted, and feel comfortable you're getting enough nutrients for baby, I say everythings fine. But if theres any issues, it wouldnt hurt to get a little out.... So, how do you feel??

Changing goals
So my first goal was 131lbs. Now that I think about it, thats crazy. Sure, I got weight loss surgery, I have something helping me lose weight, but I still have to be realistic!! Thats my dream weight, my dream goal. I dont remember being this weight. I think I need to set an attainable goal first, and once I reach that, I can go for more from there. So my new goal is 151lbs. I was that weight when I met my husband. And I was happy. When I get to there, I will be happy, and anything else will be a bonus. I am now 191lbs, which puts me half way to this new goal. I've lost 40lbs since Feb 13th. It's amazing. I want more, but I cant at the moment. But I'm grateful 40lbs are gone for now. Yay for me!!

Yes, I'm still alive
yeah, I've been looking for you!! Good to hear youre still alive and doing well!! Did you really get banded 3 months ago? feels like it was just yesterday!! Well youre doing great!! And by the way, 170 is a totally attainable goal. I think your PS is smart to tell you to wait until you get there, or at least in the 190's. Dont sell yourself short, it'd suck to get a TT at 215-220, and then get down to 170 and want another one....

anyone had to have their fill in a hospital?
I think the port has a chance to move a little. Especially the first time after surgery, I did, and happily would do it again under an x-ray. My doc does all mine under x-ray, but he has a machine in his clinic. He pokes me only once, fast and precise. then its's all done. I wouldnt want to have him dig around looking for the port!!

Scale issues
your clothes fitting better is the thing you should focus on. My scales go up and down depending on what time of day it is, if I just ate, if I just went to the loo, etc. even my doc's scale adds 3-4 pounds onto my home scale number.... (might be because I get naked at home trying to make it lower!) Youre doing great, someday soon you'll be in onderland FOR GOOD!!

Life is a never ending set of cycles!
Wow. I was 231 when I started, but I had no style. I felt ugly in everything I wore, I never felt pretty. You look so stylish in the 240's. It's just amazing the difference confidence can make. Lend me some of yours!! Sorry to hear about all the stressful things in your life at the moment, but if you still managed to lose 0.8lbs, it means youre still in charge of yourself. Keep at it!!

Hey February 2010 Bandsters!
I'm down 35 pounds since my surgery on 02/13/10, I'm so proud of it, but I have to stop now!! I'm pregnant. I cant believe the weightloss actually helped us conceive (a bit faster than we'd planned!). I had to get a partial unfil, so I'm at 2.5ccs. I can eat what I want, no restriction, but my meal sizes are still smaller than before, so I think thats what is going to keep me in check. I'm so happy I have this tool!

Feeling pregnant.....
So, I'm happy to report all pains after eating have dissappeared. My only problem now is morning sickness. As there are many women who have done this before, they know, morning sickness can occur at any moment of the day!! I basically have no appetite, and this jumps straight to starving!! So one minute, I turn my nose up at all food in my fridge, the next I'm ravenous, my belly aching for food. I'm fighting the good fight with vitamins and protein shakes, but I really want to eat as much real food as possible. I have no restriction anymore, so I know I could eat more, but I just feel queasy after a few bites of anything. I'm sitting at a 35 pound loss, a week out from my 3 month bandiversary. I actually stopped caring about the scale now. Since I'm so nauseous, most of my daily trips to the bathroom (where scales are kept) are to pray to my porcelain god. I'd rather have no morning sickness and gain a few pounds than go through this, but well, I dont really get a choice. Please have your fingers crossed for me that this morning sickness goes away fast!!

No weight loss after surgery!
Stay focused on your goals, and follow the post op eating plan. Give yourself some time to heal, and after you get your first fill, the weight will come off based on your effort. Dont give up yet.

It's My Time
Isnt it amazing, the band helps us lose weight AND fake friends. Youre YOU, and have your own life to lead. I'm glad youre not letting those haters keep you down!!

What do you mean you FORGOT to eat?
I just got done eating french fries. But seeing as though I cant eat anything at the moment from morning sickness, and the french fries stayed down, I'm okay with it. And the fact I couldnt touch the burger or coke, thats good too. no burger cause my pregnant nose said NO, and no coke cause my band brain said NO. Anyways, I'm not trying to justify my fries, I'm down 35 pounds in under 3 months. I'm proud of myself. What I want to say is that youre doing so much better than me not because you dont 'sometimes' eat fries, but because you've actually changed your lifestyle (food habits and exercise quantity). Thats worth more than 40 pounds!!! you go girl!

Did you band get tighter before you found out you were pregnant?
Sorry to hear about your loss, I wish you all the best for next month! It does show the band is affected in early pregnancy for some of us, since I wasnt the only one. I really hope youre successful soon!!

Getting filled after pg and establishing breast feeding . . .
I was pregnant in 2007/2008, and this was before I got my band this year. I was breastfeeding, but at 4months old, I joined the gym. Just going to the gym trying to lose some weight made my milk production struggle, and at 5 months, my son was crying so hard for food, I gave him formula, and that was the beginning of the end of breastfeeding. I know that trying to lose weight was the cause, and I wont be doing that again. This time I have the band, and I'm only 8 weeks along. But I know I will not try to lose weight straight away, maybe not until after I finish breastfeeding. I'd rather breastfeed as much as I can, and give that to my baby (and also save ALOT of money!!)

trying to conceive with pcos
I dont have PCOS, but my hubby and I were trying to conceive baby #2 but nothing happened for 6 months, so I thought it had something to do with the weight that I havent lost since my first baby was born (I gained at least 50lbs). I decided to go for it and got the band. I was losing weight, and happy about it. We stopped TTC, but we didnt prevent. I found out I was pregnant almost 4 weeks ago, so I'm almost 8 weeks along, but when I had found out, I was down 28lbs in the 2 months since surgery. (231 SW, 203 PregW, 197 CW). So I truly believe that ANY weightloss will be beneficial to TTC efforts. My doctor recommended at least 6 months of weightloss before TTC, and I was happy with that, but I didnt want to prevent because we'd been trying so hard previously, it didnt make sense to block it. And now I have my baby cooking away, and because of the band, I'm eating so much healthier too!

Did you band get tighter before you found out you were pregnant?
I was having some pains after I ate, and due for my period. I took a test and it was positive. I had 3.5ccs, and got 1cc removed, and now I feel better. So I guess it was pregnancy making me feel tight, and now I had an unfill, I dont feel restricted at all (but still eating less than pre-surgery).

Too Thin for Surgery!
Congrats to you! I'm always checking in cause your blogs are so positive, its good to read when days arent so good for me (a little depressed that I had to get unfilled because I'm pregnant, and now weightloss has sloooooowed. I mean, I know I cant drop 2-3lbs a week now, but I was so happy when I was.) Hopefully you'll be so hot in December when I'm due, and you'll give me more motivation to work hard to catch up!

Sweet sweet ONEDERLAND!!
So I stepped on the scales and it says 90.5kgs/199 lbs!!! I know being pregnant I wont stay in onderland, but I sure as hell am going to try!! (By eating healthily of course!) So, last I wrote my doctor unfilled me to 2.5ccs, down from 3.5ccs. This was not because of pregnancy, but because I was having pains. He told me the pregnancy could produce swelling, and could be causing the pains. But at first, the pains didnt go away. I regretted not getting all of my fill removed, and planned to go back to the doctors again to do that. I gave it a few days, and I did get better. Maybe he was right. Occasionally, I do get some pains. This happens when I eat too much, or have too much dairy. I dont know why! It's not restriction pain or blockage pain, its after everything has gone down fine, and 30 mins after I finished eating, only then will I get pain, and realise I should have ate less. Sometimes I eat less because I know it will come, othertimes I eat what I want, and then later regret it. I've found if I keep sitting after eating, there is no pain, but if I try to walk around or stand up in the 30mins/1 hr after eating, it will not feel good. So, as annoying as it is, I've controlled the pain, and only get it when I dont follow my rules. I'm trying to not be active after a meal, and give my body some time to digest. I've felt pain once this week after going to a buffet (I took it easy compared to my partners in crime, but they dont have a band.) I sat talking for 3 hours, but I was nibbling even at the end, and when I got up to leave, I felt it. Didnt follow my rules!! So, all in all, I'm doing okay. My unfil has made me able to eat anything again. No restriction. But, I am still eating a lot smaller portion sizes than I ever did before the band. I havent gained weight, and I lost 2-3lbs in 2 weeks. Really slow going, but with the unfil and my pregnancy, I'm grateful I havent gained. I dont expect much for my weight loss until after the birth. I'm hoping to drop 5 more lbs, and keep myself in onederland for as long as I can. But only so long as the baby is doing well. I'm taking vitamins alot more regularly than I was before I found out I was pregnant. I barely took any during my first pregnancy. So I feel I'm being healthier with the band, and choosing better and more nutritious foods too. I'm happy to be in onderland, even for a day!! It's been a while!!:wink2:
