  1. I appreciate your post! I too 4 weeks post op and after the extreme high of being banded and feeling restricted..BAM I woke up one morning feeling no restriction what so ever. I was discouraged after going to my surgeon and he said that it would be another 4 to 6 weeks before my first fill. So you are not the only one experiencing this and hopefully we some how deal with it. :w00t:.

  2. Great job Jilly! Isn't it awesome to be in the 100's? That is my biggest goal is to get under the 200 mark. I too had surgery same date as you...I have lost 11 lbs since surgery however I still have some pain. I know you said you don't feel like you had surgery however do you feel any tightness? Its crazy most people feel the tightness in the chest however I feel the tightness/pain on my port and shoots to my back...ugh it feels so weird. I guess I have to get use to it. I am happy for you!

  3. I was banded on Monday and today I am feel amazing. The pre-liquid diet killed me I was starving to death and now after my band strangely enough food does not effect my mind as it did previously. Also my stomach still growls telling me to eat however I can honestly say I am not really hungry and I feel in control. So far so good I lost 6 pounds since Monday and weigh 221.

  4. Hey Jilly... My "last meal" was Saturday night I had a big juicy fat steak with a baked potato...dessert was a M & M's...I think this is perfectly normal for us to feel that we need to have this last meal before we begin this life style change. The next day I started my pure liquid diet and today is my 3rd day and because my DR ordered me not to cheat or he would re-schedule my surgery was enough to scare me not to cheat. 6 more days to go...for both of us! it is exciting....

  5. I am on Day 1 of the liquid diet and had to watch my family eat pizza tonight...oh the pain it smells so good in my kitchen. Maybe I will go to sleep great idea. My doctor only required a week of liquids and my surgery is March 29...Good Luck to you and believe me I feel your pain!!

  6. Congrats to you!....Whoo Hooo

I am waiting for my approval its been over a week....I am hoping I get a response soon since they have me scheduled for surgery on 3/29.. But reading all these insurance nightmare blogs I'm starting to get discouraged and worried that this may just not happen. I am happy for your news and good luck to you!

  7. I Feel your pain! I am in the same situation as you! On my first appt. I was 227 lbs with BMI @ 40.3. The nurse cautioned me that if I were to lose 2 lbs I would not qualify. That was on January 26th. I completed almost all my tests except for psych. Two weeks ago at my follow up I weighed in @ 229 lbs and the nurse cautioned me again that the Dr. didn't like it when we gain weight during this process because he wants to make sure we take it seriously however I reminded her that if I lose 2 lbs I don't qualify. She just suggested with a smile that I keep the same weight. Now, two days ago my dietician appointment I am 234 lbs..OMG I gained 5 lbs in two weeks. The point is I am so nervous to lose the weight, gain the weight, and maintain the weight that its freakin driving me insane! The only benefit is that prior to my first appointment I had seven months of an approved weight loss documentated plan @ a weight loss center, fortunately I just have to wait for my psych appointment which is next week and then they will submit to insurance.

Thank you for your post it makes me feel that there is someone else in the same boat as me. I wish you good luck on your journey and I am sure with your kids ball season on the horizon you will be too busy running around the time will fly!

  8. I only shared my decision to do this with my Mom & my hubby. However I wished I never told my mother. She's the elderly Italian mother that thinks that I'm not fat I am just healthy...ha ha. She continually reminds me on the good old days on how skinny I was before my baby was born, and how I ran 4 miles day...the truth is my "baby" is 14 years old and I can't run to the buffet without breathing heavy... I have learned real quick not to share my journey with family & friends that think that we some how are giving up to choose this path. Congrats on the 17lbs weight loss! I too am almost finished my appointments and hopefully ready to apply for approval. Good Luck !
