I am so looking forward to being able to do all of the things you can now do! I'll probably cry tears of joy the first time I buy non-plus size clothes!

dellagracie got a reaction from yogachick in Freezing!
I have noticed the same thing, and I am 28 days since surgery. I used to be someone that was always hot, too. I have a theory on why this happens, but would love to hear from someone if I'm correct. (I will ask my surgoen next week at my one month post op appt.)
I think it may be that digestion takes a lot of energy, and that energy creates heat in the body. In my pro-op days (and years!) I had much larger amounts of food to digest, and was constantly eating.......therefore creating more heat in my body? Now that we're eating less, digesting less, we're noticing that we often feel cold.
Just a theory........but I started noticing that I often felt cold immediately after surgery. I agree with @@Kathy812 , I'm in menopause, so feeling cold is welcome!

dellagracie got a reaction from purrfctangel in I feel unsupported... Can I do this by myself?
You can do this! I live alone, and came home from the hospital after 2 nights in the hospital. I was able to manage on my own just fine. (I did have a friend carry my garbage out if it was heavy for the first few weeks, etc)
Here's a list of foods I had on hand for the first 2 weeks. My doctors food plan was: days 1-3 Clear liquids, days 4-7 full liquids, days 7-14 pureed food, etc. Follow exactly what your surgeon suggests, though. Here's what I had and it all worked out fine:
Protein powders - vanilla, chocolate, unflavored
    cream based Soups
    chicken broth
    miso ginger broth
    apple juice
    fat free plain yogurt
    instant grits
    cream of wheat Cereal
    sugar free popcicles
For pureed foods, I planned ahead and had cooked and frozen some options: pureed green Beans, pureed baked chicken, mashed sweet potatoes, etc.
Good luck to you! I hope you hubby comes around and gets on board. For most of us, the decision to have this surgery will be life changing and life saving! You are doing a positive thing for you and your family!
    Keep us posted.

I wayyyy overpacked! I took pajama bottoms, plus leggings and t-shirts for each day that I was there. (I was in the hospital two nights and went home on the third day). I also took my phone, laptop, a book to read, several magazines, toothbrush, toothpaste.
The only things I even ended up taking out of my suitcase and using were: toothbrush and toothpaste, one tshirt and my pajama bottoms.
The first day I was out of it and stayed in my hospital gown. Days #2 I finally felt like putting on Pjs and brushing my teeth.
Day #3, I went home in the clothes that I had worn to the hosptial.
Good luck and hope this helps!

dellagracie got a reaction from BloomingLotus in 1 week post op - I made it! :)
    Hi everyone--
This is my first post, but I've been following everyone's stories on this site for the past year. I've gotten lots of great info and motivation from eveyone's topics, questions and answers.
My surgery was on Jan 20th. I can't believe one week has already gone by. So far, so good! Per my surgeon, I've started adding pureed foods today.
Been taking short walks outside for the past several days, and today walked around the block, which is about half a mile. Hopefully that's a good sign that healing is going well.
I'm so thankful I've made this decision, and that I have the first week behind me.
Just wanted to say hello to all of you!
