  1. I should have said putting in a pierced earring into an "already healed pierced ear".Sorry that was unclear. As for asking the surgeon . That is good advice. It has been very helpful over my course of banding to hear from others who have a band. My surgeon does not have a lapband but is very caring and gentle. I use the knowledge and experience of others with caution. It has blessed me none the less. No fear of a fill here. Just my experience. I have only needed 5 fills in almost 4 years. Life is good.
  2. Blessings and a great tool is in your life! Use it well!
  3. I think it is less of a pinch than a blood test and way less than an injection. More like putting in a pierced earring... . Fast and finished. You can look away and it is over!
  4. No. I am almost 4 years out and have not heard of this. I have heard of their band slipping and had to be repositioned. What are your symptoms?
  5. Enjoy your new tool! Prayers and hugs. YOU can do this. Success is in small steps. HUGS!
  6. Having the correct fill is a real balancing act. When it is correct I feel full for 3 plus hours with a small serving of food. I called it "My first full button". This is a great tool and I am blessed to have it work. I only know how it has been for me. Hang in there and keep informing your MD. of how you are doing. Work together to achieve the success of your dreams! It will be a reality!
  7. I am loving my size M too. One night I was sleeping and my arm hit something firm and scared me! I was so shocked that the firm thing was my own thigh. Love being a hard body from the gym. Just doesn't feel like me yet!
  8. Prayers for your better health! Keep us posted on your progress. My BMI was 39. 5 now 28. YOU will do well! Today is only the beginning!

  10. It is so wonderful to hear your positive comments. Working with a tool that keeps me on a better path has been a blessing too. I am 3+ years out and continue to have good energy. Go for it!
  11. Look at the healthy new you! The new tool you are being given can change these things to PAST and good reasons to go forward. The choices are in your hands and wishing you the best. Today is a new day. Needing an extension belt on a plane was a reality and not a happy one. It is PAST and will be for you. Follow your PRESENT and FUTURE, filled with hope and sunshine. TODAY is a new healthy day! GOD is so good!
  12. Be positive that you are on the correct path. A Red Flag is just that! Praying for you to find the correct answer. I am 3 years out and have not heard of this ever. You are your own best advocate.
  13. With just Hubby and I at our house, it brought back memories of all the kids around the table. We also have changed our focus to the event instead of whats on the plate. Since I am at a place in my menu where the portion is the most important part of my focus I am able to do more flexible menu plans. I really enjoy cooking and the small portions seem to make me enjoy the recipe just as much or maybe more because it is ok in a tiny serving. Using whole foods has improved our menus. Yesterday I made some cooked fresh spinach steamed in a skillet and it was super. Deep luscious green and full of flavor. Hubby and daughter in law were all complimenting the chef! Keep up your good choices!

  15. Just saying... I did not have a "full button" ever in my life until the insertion of my lap band. Baby I know how to be pleasantly satisfied with a nutritious meal of small proportion. It rocked and changed ME! Those who knew the meaning of the word FULL were not ME.This tool has empowered me to make a better choice. I heard Dr. Oz talk about FULL and knew right away he knows that feeling already. I must day by day use this "tool" to continue on my path.

I am sure we have the same concerns going in. However: going back to my old way got me into BIGGER trouble than thoughtfully advancing toward the tool we need. I am almost 3 years ahead of you. Looking back is like a mirror... however now the ME looking back is strong and more healthy than I even imagined I could be. There was NO hope in where I came from. Look at my album and see how life has been gifted to me. I was 57 and felt 90. Now I am 60 and feel 30. Praying for you to have "peace like a river" going forward!
