Some Dr 's will numb you, but even if he dont it will be over lickity split. So it really isnt any worse than a shot in the bum. Just be sure you can swallow the water before you leave.

I had my first fill today. They put in 2.5 cc's. I had myself so worked up over nothing. My Dr. didn't numb me and it was like a little pinch. After that, while they were adding the fluid, I didn't feel a thing. I had to wait 15 minutes, drink some water, and I was done. I couldn't believe how fast it went. Then I had a short meeting on nutrition and was finished. Don't sweat it Msluv, it was nothing. You will do just fine.

I'm 10 mo band got my first fill today so now I have 3cc in my band .im so happy hope this helps me , I've gain 9 lbs sense last visit ,

My fill didn't hurt , the doc numb the area first mine did ,

It's nothing to stress over , you can handle , I'm sure

I think it is less of a pinch than a blood test and way less than an injection. More like putting in a pierced earring... . Fast and finished. You can look away and it is over!

If my fill hurt as much as getting my ear pierced, I would switch Dr.s. And if putting my pierced earring in hurt as much as my fill, I would stop wearing it. :D

I should have said putting in a pierced earring into an "already healed pierced ear".Sorry that was unclear. As for asking the surgeon . That is good advice. It has been very helpful over my course of banding to hear from others who have a band. My surgeon does not have a lapband but is very caring and gentle. I use the knowledge and experience of others with caution. It has blessed me none the less. No fear of a fill here. Just my experience. I have only needed 5 fills in almost 4 years. Life is good.
