  1. This saturday (6-26-10) will be 3 months post-op and I feel like I'm failing my band. I started my journey March 1,10 before surgery and I losted about 21 lbs. Then 2 wks after surgery I losted another 15lbs. Since then I've been flucuating between weight, which is very fustrating:cursing:. I've got a total of 2 fills and about 2cc out of surgery. So I may have a total of 4 cc's in a 10cc band. My problem is like everyone here I would think. I wouldn't have this surgery if I was able to do this on my own. I do put a lot of effort into my weight loss journey, but I feel like I'm not doing well. The weight is not coming off. I'm able to eat everything and anything, to top it off I'm always HUNGERY:drool:. Which I hate because I'm forcing myself not to choose something bad. I hate protein drinks but I do drink it. So I really don't know how to feel or what to do to keep myself motivated. My mind set has changed since surgery which makes me a little afraid. I would really like to see some more progress. I ask myself "when does bandster hell over"? Just need some word of encouragement.
  2. Happy to hear you are doing well. My second fill wasn't so bad, i did have pain. My weight loss has not improve much, it's been up and down but staying withing the same range. Wish I get out of it soon.

  3. hey, just wanted to check to see how u nr doing with ur weight loss? we had surgery around the same time and myweight loss has been at a stand. At time it's fustrating, i just got my second fill and i don't feel any difference with my restriction. (

sucks) anyways hope u r doing well

  4. Today I got my 2nd fill, which I think went well. When the doctor filled my port I could feel the fluid going in. Which before I didn't feel anything. So hopefully I could notice a difference for this month.

Today I also met several other lapband talk members at my doctors office. They were great, nice to have met them.

  5. good for you, you did a great job!

  6. keep me poated on ur progress :)

  7. CONGRATS!!!

Hope you are doin well, so happy for you.

To answer ur question, Dr. Chio doesn't do anything he just stick you. It was really quick i didn't feel much pain.

the gas pain is furstration and gas-x didn't do much for me too but if u walk around it help. thats what helped me.

  8. Good for you, you did a great job.

  9. Okay, I know I should be a little more patient about this weight loss thing, but listen to this. I went to my 1st fill appointment on Monday and my doctor just trip me the hell out. The man act like he was in such a rush. When he met with me, he was like " what can I do for you today?" I was like, " I'm hear for my 1st fill." Before I notice the man had me on the bed and quickly did my fill. He didn't take him time to talk to me or ask me about how I'm doing. He was such in a rush that before I put my top back on he was already out of the room. I had to rush and run after him to ask him how much cc's did he put in my port. To make it matters worst, I'm not even sure if the saline went in my port because I completly don't feel any difference. I've read about other people having their fills done and mine didn't go down like that at all. To top the matter off, when I went to make another appointment the girl was like, " see you in another month." "I was like another month?" I got only 1.2 cc added to my 2.5 which I'm not even sure if thats what I have in my port. My concern is am I on the right track or am I'm being played by my doctor?
  10. That is great you join a support group. I wish I could find one to join tool. I'm getting my 1st fill today, I have 2.5cc from surgery I wonder what the doctor will put in for me today. will keep u posted.

  11. I'm excited for you too. The closer you get to surgery you will have a lot of mix feeling but stay focus on what you want and you will be just fine. Today I get my 1st fill so I'm excited about it. I heard its painful but will see. so talk to you soo.

  12. I must say I'm going for my 1st fill on 5/4/10 and I can't wait.

  13. Well not much change since my last entry. When did you get banded?

  14. Well congradulation on making the decision on a new you. My experience with Strax went well. I'm a nurse so I didn't have a lot a questions. I think Strax weakness is proving detail information about what to expect. So ask a lot of question and do a lot of research.

Surgery day went well. The nurse who took care of me was a classmate while attending nursing school. I spent 1 hour at per-op, met with Dr. Chio we went over all the things I should expect after surgery.

After surgery I didn't feel much pain but I did feel alot of pressure in my chest. I stayed in post-op for an hour then I was discharged home.

The pressure lasted for about 9 days before I could get some relief. I took gas-x but it didn't help that much. People say walking around help and for me it did.

I'm happy to know someone else is having surgery with Straxs too. Lets keep in touch and we could be weight loss buddys. So keep me posted. How is you'ur pre-op diet going?

  15. I don't know what to do. I've been banded for about 3 weeks now. The 1st wk I was great, I felt like I had a lot of restriction. Week 2 the swelling went down and I still had a great amount of restriction. Now I'm only on my 3rd week and I feel like I can eat a house. Why am I feeling so hungry, starving, like an open whole in my stomach. The dam thing makes all type of noise and I'm passing gas all day long.(which piss me off because I haven't move my bowels for about a week.:crying:) Anyways, this is the main issue when I was banded I came out of surgery with 2.5 cc fill. So I'm not sure why I feel so hungry ,I haven't eaten anything I wasn't suppose to. I've lost about 10lbs since surgery and flucuating 2-3 pounds daily. I know my port is still functioning because I still feel the slight pressure and i have a lot of gas. So what do I do now? (I feel really hungry every 2-3 hours.) I won't see my doctor for another 2 1/2 weeks. I want to know if I'm doing somthing wrong:sad:.
  16. Hello extended family, I want to know is it okay to feel the way I'm feeling? Lately, I've been stressed out with school because I'm in finals week. I'm also extremely stress out at work because I'm expecting state audit soon at my facility. ( I'm a nurse manager working at a nursing home) To top it off, I'm moving at the end of this month, which is conflicting with my study time. What I'm trying to get at is that I'm under a lot of stress and I'm a big emotional eater. The other problem is that I have no restriction in my band (2.5cc). I could eat anything and large portions of it. Before finals week I felt no restriction but I was really trying not to gain any weight. I was fluctuating between at 2 to 3 lbs. I stop weighing myself because it was driving me nuts. So now that I'm not weighing myself, I have no restriction, and I'm under a lot of stress. I feel like maybe I'm giving off a "I DON'T CARE" attitude. I'm really afaid of gaining the weight I loss already. Call me crazy, but I think I could even notice some weight gain in my face. I'm feeling really depressed about it. I paid a lot of money out of my own pocket with no one's help to have this surgery. I want to prove to myself that I could do this. Anyway, I just wanted to vent my issue. Thanks Family.
  17. I'm sorry you don't have much support but you need to stay focus on your goal. The people around can not be supportive to your goal because it's not theirs, just keep that in mind. I live alone so I don't have much temptation from others. I do have a lot of craving and eating behavior when I'm stressed and bored. Overall weight loss is a struggle no matter what.

I live in Miami FL. I would love to be support buddies.

    Entering fourth week, anyone?

Hello March banders, I had my band done on March 26, I've lost a total of 26 lbs (16 before surgery and 10 after) and flucuating between 2-3lbs. (which I hate) I haven't had my first fill yet but I really need it. I don't feel like I have anything over my stomach and I could eat about anything. I'm trying to keep my eating behaviors under control but sometime it's really hard. I'm really stressed out lately from school and work (finals). Hopefully my 1st fill will help, my appointment is on 5/4/10. I must say I have notice some changes in my clothes and even my shoes. (good new) I wish I could give you some tips but not doing so great this week.
