  3. Hello November 09 Knockouts! My name is Lexi from Kyle, TX had my surgery on 11/4/09 at Scott & White in Temple, TX. I'm new to this site, was looking online for a support group and found this site and love it. I've had two fills so far, one on 12/1/09 and 1/4/10, my weight loss has been a slow process, I'm down about 25lbs since pre-op diet started on 10/21/09. So I wanted to see how fellow bandsters were doing and get any tips to help me out on my journey. :w00t:
  4. Hi my name is Lexi from Kyle, TX and had LB surgery on 11/4/09 with Dr. Richard Symmonds in Temple, TX. I had a very long journey, but I finally got my surgery done and I couldn't be happier. I went to my first consultation with True Results in Austin, TX and have insurance through BCBS. I was told I was approved and needed to go through a 6 month weight loss valution, and a few other requirments. Got to my last weight loss valution appt. and was so excited because we were going to talk about surgery dates and was told that my insurance would not cover TR to do the surgery, because they didn't use a Blue Distinctioned Center which just means an approved hospital that BCBS will only cover for LB surgeries. The closest on to me was about 80 miles away in Temple, so I called up Dr. Symmonds office and they told me that they could use all my medical records from True Results and submit to the insurance co., but I would have to go to one of their seminars first. So I went to one on 3/15/09 and filled the paperwork with them and they told me it would take about 6-8 weeks before the hospital business office would contact me. Wells that took forever, because I didn't hear from the until July 09, went in with all my medical records and they submitted to BCBS and I was approved and finally had my surgery 11/4/09. So any of you having problems with insurance hang in there, it is well worth it.

    New here

Hi Ash23, I'm new to this site and from Kyle, TX and just had surgery on 11/4/09 at Scott & White in Temple. I started out with True Results in Austin in 9/08 and went all the way through all my requirements for insurance which is through BCBS too, and at my 6 mo Weight Loss Valuation at True Results they told me my that BCBS would not cover them to do the surgery, that I had to go to a hospital that BCBS would cover and the closest one was Temple, so I I found Dr. Richard Symmonds at Scott & White. They required me to go to a seminar with them, which I went on 3/15/09 and it took their business office forever to process my paperwork, but I finally go my call to visit the surgeon in July. They accepted all my paperwork from True Results submitted to my insurance and I was approved and had surgery. I don't know if my BCBS is different than yours, but you might give them a call and see if it will work for you. It's a pain to drive to Temple each time to get a fill, but at least I finally got the surgery done.
