Hello from Texas

Hi my name is Lexi from Kyle, TX and had LB surgery on 11/4/09 with Dr. Richard Symmonds in Temple, TX. I had a very long journey, but I finally got my surgery done and I couldn't be happier. I went to my first consultation with True Results in Austin, TX and have insurance through BCBS. I was told I was approved and needed to go through a 6 month weight loss valution, and a few other requirments. Got to my last weight loss valution appt. and was so excited because we were going to talk about surgery dates and was told that my insurance would not cover TR to do the surgery, because they didn't use a Blue Distinctioned Center which just means an approved hospital that BCBS will only cover for LB surgeries. The closest on to me was about 80 miles away in Temple, so I called up Dr. Symmonds office and they told me that they could use all my medical records from True Results and submit to the insurance co., but I would have to go to one of their seminars first. So I went to one on 3/15/09 and filled the paperwork with them and they told me it would take about 6-8 weeks before the hospital business office would contact me. Wells that took forever, because I didn't hear from the until July 09, went in with all my medical records and they submitted to BCBS and I was approved and finally had my surgery 11/4/09. So any of you having problems with insurance hang in there, it is well worth it.
