  7. So I am getting daring. I decided yesterday I wanted to try something different, and I made Chicken Marsala, and put it over Quinoa, and OMG So good!!! Even the kids and the hubbyman liked it??? Lets see what I can find next!!!

      pupichupi

lol, my girlfriend is a vegan, and she eats alot of tofu, she made it for me once and I was not about it, but to each their own, I don't hate on it, I will try anything once, well except liver!!! lol, I LOVE to cook and try new things all the time!!! I just wish buying food to try things wasn't so darn expensive!! lol

    2. Miss Mac

      Miss Mac

Liver is do-able, but you gotta mince it up real small and put it in something with a bold flavor, like Mexican food. I was an anorexic/anemic teenager with major B vitamin and folate deficiencies, and a Mexican neighbor made tostadas or tacos for me twice a week with the liver hidden in it. It got me well. My mother made the shoe leather fried liver crap which I could not stand.

Since being sleeved, I get extra pleasure out of experimentng in the kitchen to help me meet nutritional goals.

    3. BigGirlPanties

      BigGirlPanties

lol @ Miss Mac ... my mom made it the same way (but I still love it)...pork chops too...because she bought the thin cuts and cooked them like center cuts... let's just say she wasn't a very good cook...bless her :)

  8. So I have been looking forward to getting into onederland but I have decided not to make my goals so far out of reach and just take it 10 at a time, and so I am really looking forward to hitting 240 which I am only 3 lbs away and then I will look forward to hitting 230? NO more big goals!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@BladeFox Thanks, and I hit 240 today so I am super excited, and yes I did steal your "0" idea, it is a great idea, so thanks for that!!! I always look forward to the finish and right now I have to look at the small things cause I know I have a ways to go. So baby steps first before I can run!!!

  9. So I have decided to change my final goal to 165 instead of 150, I am 5'8" and I don't think I would look right at 150 lbs, I think I would be way too skinny? I have a sister that is only 5'3" if even that, and she bounces from 155-160 and she is SKINNY, somedays I think she looks too skinny and she and I look a lot alike, except I am taller? So I just feel for my height I don't want to look sickly skinny? So 165 sounds like a perfect size for me?

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

@Bandista, that is great that your down to a 12 and ready to go into a 10, I fit into GAP jeans for the first time in my life, not that I am superficial and need only expensive store cloths, I got them from a cousin and so when they fit, I was amazed!!! I love it!!! I am still in a 14, which fits good right now but I know another 20 lbs or so I will be out of those and into a 12 too and then I will have no cloths? I have been hitting the 2nd hand stores when I have a couple extra bucks, and I think I am going to just start buying smaller sizes just to have cause I have enough 14's for now, and then when I am able to fit the lower ones atleast I will have something to wear that will fit? @proudgrammy thanks I think readjusting my goal was the best thing for me right now, and it just makes me realize that I don't have to look at the # in lbs, but I can look at it like whats best for me to be healthy!!!

    2. Cupcake

      Cupcake

Pupichupi that's great I'm 5'11 and my hola is 170 but if I get to thin I will reevaluated my goal I have 80 more pounds to go and I'm almost 4 months post opt keep up the great work.

  10. So I have my 2nd appt with my surgeon in august and I am so totally excited to go in and see him and be either at my 1/2 way point or very close to it. I am only 6lbs away, and my normal week is somewhere between 2 - 4 lbs a week, so we shall see!!!

    1. BladeFox

      BladeFox

You Pup are my idol! LOL!!! I know I'm a stress eater so over the past few months since going through the reorg at the job, I admittantly have been eating popcorn like no body's business. This has stalled my weight loss. I have lost 54 total. Really good on the inches, but the pounds...not so much. Could be better tho, ha!

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Listen don't stress it so much, I am the same way, I was getting bags of smart pop and munching that, but I would do what I said get a small bowl put just enough to fit in that bowl and then put the bag away. Only eat what i could put in the bowl, and that was it. I then got wicked depressed not too long ago with my birthday that came up, I picked up Cheese puffs, cause they melt in your mouth and they are easy to eat. I was eatting alot of those, I had to tell my fiance to keep them away from me. I think its a good thing you have hiccups all of us, cause that shows hello this isn't going to help if we don't help it. I am happy that I can still eat somethings that I know are not good for me, it just gives me the opportunity to show how strong I can be!!! You can do this!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm working my way through it.

  11. So I lost only a pound this past week? Well a pound loss is a pound I didn't have before!!! I am staying in a positive mood about any loss because it's not a gain, and I am not going to go back to where I was!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

lol thanks blade!!! How are you doing? How did everything go with the job thing?

      pupichupi

Thanks pinkpolkadot!!! I can't speak for blade, but I know going through this transformation I have found that I want to help others loose the weight, I have instilled the changes in my home too, and my son is only 9 but he is a heavy kid right now and we are working on that so that as he gets older he doesn't go through everything I have growing up and being a heavy kid.

  13. So I went to my doctor to see them about my hernia surgery recovery today and my doctor is very impressed with my weight loss from my bypass and said once I get under 180 lbs he is going to refer me to a plastics doctor to have my skin removal. I have 10 lbs to get under 180, 14 lbs to my goal weight, wow what a year this has been!!! I am super proud of myself and all that I have accomplished!!!

    1. PinkPolkadot619

      PinkPolkadot619

wow they will pay for the skin removal?!?! very cool

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

My insurance covers it if I have skin irritation and so I do, so I will be dealing with that next!!!

  14. So I went to see my surgeon the week before last, and I found out that I have a hernia right next to my big incision site, and now it's starting to really show more than before, as I loose more weight it shows more, so I don't wear anything that is tighter unless it's my undershirt. We spoke about it, and he suggests that I wait till I have lost all my weight to have it fixed? That means 60-70 more lbs before that happens? I don't know it looks funny???

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Hey blade thought I lost you? Yeah I agree, it did take me a bit to heal from the surgery to start with and so waiting till I have the skin surgery is definitely my best option!!! Thanks hun!!!

  17. So tomorrow is my appt with a plastics doctor, lets see what they say about getting me all fixed up!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

It went really good, they are submitting it to the insurance now. It will take a little while cause you know insurance companies!!!

    2. PinkPolkadot619

      PinkPolkadot619

I am told they don't cover it here at all!! But I am learning there might be loop holes....

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Call your insurance company and ask them what the requirements are to have it done!!! If it's a medical necessity they need to cover it. Like what I want done, the skin folds over and I get yeast infections, and sores under the folds so that is why I want it done, and it could become open sores so that would make it a medical necessity. I will say that what I want done is only $4000, so if my insurance were to not pay for it, I would save up the money and pay for it out of pocket!!!

  18. So tomorrow is your big day, congrats and good luck!!! Trust me it's well worth it, but I hope your really ready for a total lifestyle change, cause you can be told that it is a change until your blue in the face, but when it really comes down to it, thats when you really realize what a change this is, and I am very happy I did it, but somedays it's harder then others. It is a wonderful choice and it will help you, but it doesn't do it for you!!! Good luck and if you ever need to talk, you can email me anytime!!! Good luck!!!

  19. So yesterday was my 11 month post op and I am so excited at how close I am to my goal in less than a year!!!

  20. Starting to get discouraged that I won't get to my next goal or my final goal? I only lost a pound this week and I am upset with myself? Its getting so much harder to loose the weight?

    1. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Pupi, the only way you won't reach your goal is if you stop trying! Of course weight loss gets slower the smaller you get. Focus on the basics -- if you've slipped in any areas, buckle down again. If you're staying on plan, maybe try something new like a new exercise program to help kickstart again. But, DON'T give up!!! If you're following the plan, working with your doctor and NUT, the weight just HAS to come off!

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Thanks girls, I am definitely not giving up, I am just so discouraged cause I felt like I had a great week last week and would loose more than 1 lb again for the 2nd week in a row, and those are the 2 lbs I gained 2 weeks ago? So it's just frustrating?

    3. haleytrim

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Blade, thanks, I wasn't even in the car, and I do have good insurance, but I also have a $500 deductable, so i have to get a estimate tomorrow on it and find out what the damage is? I am just so mad that people can be so irresponsible to hit someones car and then not put wait to tell them or leave their info for the person they hit? I would have been responsible enough to write down my info and leave it for them? Its disgusting?

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

  23. Thanks Drowsy, I know what you mean about being a busy family, we are too, T-Ball, and Softball, and all the other wonderful things that comes with being a single mom with 2 kids, but you know what is a really good idea, and I haven't tried it myself, but it is one of the things on my to-do list, is Spend one day best would be the weekend and put together your meal plan, and make all your meals for the week, and then all you have to do is heat it up and your ready to go!!! I want to do this because even though I am eatting good, I am still giving my kids the horrible stuff like 50% of the time. They need to learn now how to eat healthy and that way they don't grow up having the same problems I did!!! Good Luck, and Keep in touch!!!
