  1. I finally went back to my doctor after around 2 years of not having a fill. He filled me under fluro and said everything looks good. He put maybe 1/4 cc in there then because he said the band was pretty full. That was 2 months ago. Last Friday, I woke up and had some tightness in my stomach and Water would just gurgle down, and there would be a slight pain with solids. It got to the point where if I extended my stomach out, which I do to help my food go down, it would shoot a pain through my neck. A week later, and it is still happening. I'm getting stuck more, still slight pain when I swallow solids for the first time after not eating for a few hours, feeling of tightness/pressure in my stomach. Neck and shoulder pain. I have been having sinus headaches so not sure if it is related to that or if I'm too tight or if it's trapped gas (I haven't been using the bathroom as well recently). I had a slipped band years ago so it concerns me when something like this happens. It might be too tight, but it's weird that it took 2 months for it to happen so that's why I'm asking here. Not having reflux or anything like I had when it had slipped.
  2. I'm a little mad at the moment. I wasted my time over two weeks to go into his new office and fill out paperwork then went today for a fill under fluro for nothing at all. He said I had 8 cc in there which is pretty tight. I asked how much it would hold. He said some patients he's gotten up 9 cc in there. He might have put 1/4 cc in he said. Okay seriously I can eat a freaking sandwich if I wanted to. I don't like sandwiches all that much, but you get my drift. I can eat just about anything I want. My food hardly gets stuck. I never throw up. Seriously I wasted my time and money for nothing. At least my band and everything looks good he said.
  3. Thanks for the encouragement. I made an appointment today so I'll go in two weeks. Looking forward to getting back on track. I just needed a kick in the booty.
  4. So I haven't been to my lap band doctor in 1 1/2 to 2 years, and I am in need of a fill, but I'm nervous. I have gained around 12 lbs. since I last saw him so I really need to go back, but I don't want to get yelled at . The other problem is he moved offices so it was 40 miles away from me, which is hard to get off work half a day just to go get a fill. But he has now moved back to his old location which isn't even 10 miles away so that's a good thing. I guess I just need advice on what to do....
  5. Well that was relatively easy. I called, told her what was going on, and she looked and said okay, I'll do an adjustment on this today. No problems whatsoever (hopefully).
  6. Thank you. I don't know why they filed it on my insurance. I told them up front I was self pay, and all my paperwork had self pay on it. I guess I'll see how it goes in the morning.
  7. I am a self-pay patient, and my doctor's office has a contract with the hospital for lap band fills under fluro. It is $150.00 for the hospital portion, and whatever the doctor fee is (usually around $125.00). Well I guess they decided to bill my insurance, which I told the admitting lady that my insurance would not pay. Well to my surprise I received a bill for over 2,700.00 for this procedure. This was down from the over $4,000.00 they wanted to charge. My mom is self pay as well, and she had a fill under fluro about a month before I did. She never received this outrageous bill so I'm going to have to have a nice conversation with the hospital tomorrow. Should be interesting. I'm a little afraid, but I know what we were told by the admitting people. I'm just venting a little tonight. Sorry.
  8. I feel you need some fluid taken out, but I am no doctor. I had the same problems with reflux and I had a slipped band. It sounds to me you are too tight.
  9. I noticed I started having heartburn at night especially, and I could only eat a couple bites of food. I now realize I was too tight then, but mine kinda happened all of a sudden. I got some fluid taken out about a week before, and one morning I woke up, and it hurt to drink or even swallow my own saliva. This was on a Thursday, and I thought it would go away, but when I couldn't sleep that night I knew something was up. I went to the doctor on Friday, and he took all my fluid out. Had a fluro the next week and it had prolapsed. It didn't get better over the year so I decided to get it fixed in March.
  10. I forgot to mention this, but when food or liquids pass through the band, it makes a funny noise like my stomach is burping or something.
  11. That is what I was thinking as well. I think I might wait until next week to see how it's going.
  12. I received on Tuesday my second fill after my revision surgery. My doctor did put about 3-4 cc in during surgery, and I got 1 cc last month and 1 cc Tuesday. I can just about feel everything pass through the band. It isn't that uncomfortable unless I take too big of a gulp or too big of a bite. Is this normal or should I get some taken out? I'm paranoid since I did have a slipped band before.
  13. I had my band repositioned on March 8, and ever since then I have bad cramps. Just miserable almost all the time. It didn't do this the first go around so I don't know what is up. I had my gallbladder scanned last week, but I have yet to hear from them about that. I thought it might be constipation or something, but I take a stool softener almost every day which helps me go to the bathroom. Anyone else have cramps a lot of the times? I have tried gas x to no avail.
  14. I'm sorry you lost your friend (if that is even true), but I seriously doubt her band exploded. What can one eat that could make the band explode? I've eaten just about anything with my band. This post seems fishy to me.
  15. I've never understood the 30 before eating rule. My doctor doesn't make us do that. If liquid goes right through the band what is the big deal? Asking because I don't know a real good answer.
