  1. Hi... my name is Susan.. I am 8 months post-op and live in the Pittsburgh area. I have heard of York.. but can't say as I know where it is at. I would ba happy to be your buddy. 2. Hi Karen... I am a lapband patient from Pittsburgh, PA and had my surgery on December 14, 2009. I am 5 months out and am willing to help you in anyway that I can. Feel free to email me at suzepersh@verizon.net for any questions or anything that you need help with or even if you just want to talk things over. I have had ups and downs... but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Look forward to sharing your journey ~Susan
  3. Hi Angie! Congratulations on becoming banded! Itis a very exciting journey. I was banded 6 weeks ago and am so very glad that I did. The days and weeks ahead will be exciting and I wish you much success. I don't think that I am ready to be a mentor because Iam so newly banded myself. But I would love to be a support buddy if you are interested. I have one girl as a support buddy right now who had her surgery 6 weeks before I had mine and we are really supporting each other. Sure family and friends are a great support, but you will find it easier to talk to people who are going through the same thing as you! Good luck jumping on the "band" wagon! My personal e-mail address is suzepersh@verizon.net. Hope things are going well! Susan
  4. My name is Susan. I am going to be 40 in February. I was banded on December 14, 2009. I don't know anyone who has had LapBand surgery and I am really struggling with the mental aspects of the surgery as well as the frustrations of not loosing anymore weight after my first week post-op. I decided to have this surgery right before Christmas so that I would have a jump on my weight loss... everyone says "I'll wait until after the holidays".. If you are serious.. why wait??? I am 3 weeks post-op tomorrow and I need support. I have a loving husband and family, but no one understands what I am going through. If there is anyone who wants to share my journey and support me when I am down... please contact me. Thanks You, ~Susan suzepersh@verizon.net
  5. I was banded on !2/14/2009. I lost 20 pounds the first week and today I weighed and have gained 2 pounds back... I am frustrated. I sort of knew that once I started eating... I would have to have some gain.. but I am so afraid that I am going to gain it all back before my first fill on 1/27. I feel hungry all of the time and sometimes wonder if the band is even in there.... I try not to get depressed, but I expected that I wouldn't be hungry. I am following the diet that the doc gave me, and it says that I may not be able to finish each meal, but I am finishing everything and I am still hungry. I am walking 2 miles a day... and still no loss... I need encouragement. I don't know anyone who has had this surgery and I am wondering if maybe I should have had the gastric by-pass instead!:blushing:
