  1. Hey bell, General anesthesia isnt that bad (unless you got some health concerns) i was so scared myself but i did it anyway, All i remember is when they gave it to me my mom said i got this huge smile on my face and when they wheeled me into the OR i was singing along with the music until i went to sleep. The only down side i had was when i woke up, i was crying and so completely out of it but you wont remember much. Good luck

Hey lapbanders, I got banded on 12/23 and im still very swollen and my dr told me that i should be back to normal in 6 weeks, but me being very impatient (I just found out i can fit into a size 16 but the only thing thats holding me back is my stomach) is there anything else i can do to kind of rush the process? thanks in advance =]

  4. i had my surgery on 12/23 omg thank god i stayed over night. Loved the leg massager thingys but the one thing i couldnt stand was that they kept taking my vitals every hour. LOVED THE MORPHINE!!!!!!! and since i was in alot of pain the nurses gave me stuff that they give pregnant women when they are going into labor (dont remember the name,started with a T though) anyways everyone was really cool and i thank god i got the surgery in a quick timeframe. :smile2:
  5. Hi, I think it just depends on the person, cause i got banded on Dec 23rd and im on soups now and i add either black pepper or hot sauce to them with out any problems.God knows i need as much flavor as i can get right now:biggrin:
  6. what i ment by stretching out the little lapband stomach is they(dr's,nurses..ect..) tell you it is possible to stretch it out right? well how easy does it happen .. like one time you mess up your not completely S.O.L right ?
  7. Hi bandsters! As of right now im on stage 2 diet .. which consists of mostly Soup,applesauce and yogurt(which after this i never EVER ever wanna eat soup ever again) But I think all is going well .. i have lost 10 lbs since the surgery (in total i have lost 90 since july) But i have some questions that hopefully you guys can answer. #1: Im craving salt like no tomarrow, is this normal? #2 Since it is December its very cold out and i noticed that when i go out side for walks i feel my little stomach cramping up, did you guys get that feeling too? #3 How easy is it to stretch out your little lapband stomach? #4 Is drinking almond milk okay? #5 When i went in for the surgery i was still getting over a cold, do you think me coughing would mess up the staples/stitches arround the band? Thank you guys in advance!
  8. I was banded on the 23rd of this month i have been CONSTANTLY having left shoulder pains. If you find out anything about this please PM me or something cause its really affecting me

  11. Very simple .. Tons of exercise (running up to 4 miles a day also doing weights at the gym) and 1100 calories a day .. yea i know it sounds like alot but its really not that bad.

  13. So Kaiser gave us this binder of stuff we can eat during stage 2, but it didnt really go into much detail. Do you guys have any good recipes or food that worked out good for you?

All my friends and family support me with what im doing. !!!!EXCEPT !!!!!!!!! for my boyfriend of 8 years he wants nothing to do with my weightloss (i have lost 80lbs pre op) he didn't go with me to ANY pre op classes and will not be here for me when I have my surgery on the 23rd (in 2 days), I can honestly say this has opened my eyes with him and after this is all over im going to leave.
  15. Hi Guys, My name is Alanna and im getting banded on the 23rd at kaiser in south san francisco, I am so excited but yet scared at the same time! I got approved for this surgery in September and I have lost 80 lbs since July. Wish me luck guys!
