  1. I've found I physically can NOT drink during meals. If I do, it's all coming back up. This has been a good hindrance for me. Sorry I don't have much advice, other than to not have an option...don't have a liquid around to drink when you're eating. Good luck to you!
  2. So glad to hear your doc got you back in. I had this happen last week and my doc got me back in right away. It's scary when you can't swallow your own saliva, and we shouldn't have to live like that! Good luck to you!
  3. I answered my own question. After the fourth time I PB'd my own saliva, I called the doctor. I went and had .5 cc taken out. Much better.
  4. I too just had a fill...like 3 hours ago. I tried to drink a Protein shake and just minutes later it came up. Too tight? Or just swelling? Call doc now? Or wait til tomorrow and see how I feel? I haven't had a fill before where I actually felt tight, so this is new to me. Any experienced bandsters....please advise.
  5. I have the same problem with night eating. When the kids are in bed, and there's no one there to see me eat, I think that it doesn't count. Silly, huh? I also have a major problem with eating when I'm not hungry. I have some serious mental issues with food, issues I didn't even knew existed until after this surgery. I'm going for another fill tomorrow. I too haven't lost any weight in a few months. Hoping this fill willl jump start more weight loss.
  6. I searched on here for people that talked about Curves and read alot of negative things. BUT...I LOVE IT! I started about a month ago, and when I leave, I'm dripping in sweat and my legs are wobbly. I started using their Smart Technology last week, and was in for quite a shock once I started that. I only THOUGHT I had been working hard. That pushed me to work even harder. The thing with Curves is that you get from it what you put in to it. If you go in and watch the older ladies just bee bop along and gossip, of course they're not going to get anything out of it. But if you go in there with the mindset of working as hard as you can, you will stand to be successful. I have my first weigh in and measure next week, and I know that I will have been successful in dropping inches. I can already tell what a difference it has made in the way I look and feel. Now...with all that said...could I get bored of it in a few months since it's such a repetitive workout, maybe. But again, I will have to make the choice to do it and stick with it. And if I'm successful, why quit?
  7. Well, I haven't lost since May, so I figured it was time to add the most crucial part to this equation...exercise. I joined Curves on Saturday. Time is a huge issue for me, so if I can get a workout...a GOOD workout...in 30 minutes, sign me up! Hopefully this is just what I need to bust through my plateau.
  8. BACK UP!!! Cherie...you're husband left you? Have you told us this before, or is this the first we're hearing of it, sorry if I missed that. He left after you had the band? What a d*&k! Sorry...I take husbands walking out just a wee bit personal. Mine left a few years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with our son. We were only married for a year, and my heart still hurts over it...I can not FATHOM the hurt that 20 years would bring. I'm SO sorry!!! BIG HUGS!!!
  9. After about 3 days, you'll still be sore, but able to move around and function. I have a 2 year old and needed my parents for a few days. Poor thing didn't understand why he couldn't sit on my mommy's lap...but after a few days, it was back to normal. But!....dman was right. I was told not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk for 6 weeks. After about 3-4 I was picking him up though (he's about 25 pounds). If he/she is able to get in the car on their own and all you have to do is buckle them in, that's good. If they can get up and down from their chair for meals, that's good. Just avoid lifting for as long as you can.
  10. Rachel, I really really feel your pain and frustration. I've even gone as far as finding an Overeater's Anonymous meeting in my local area...but I haven't brought myself to go yet. They have a questionairre you answer yes or no to and if you answer yes 3 or more times, then you are a food addict. I answered yes to ALL of them. :bolt: I don't know how to stop. I haven't lost anything in 3...going on 4...months. I know what I'm doing wrong, but for some reason feel powerless to stop. Every day I wake up telling myself, TODAY will be different. But then by nightfall, as my kids are in bed and no one can see...I start my eating. Cheese and crackers, a glass of wine, some Fritos, a couple of cookies....by the time I go to bed, I am so sick to my stomach. Does anyone attend WLS support group meetings? I've never been, but have thought about it. But the meetings are usually over topics such as how to eat on vacation, exercising, etc...I want SUPPORT...not a weight watchers meeting. Ya know?
  11. chicken Potato in any form other than mashed Tortillas English muffins So far I've had issues with things like pizza or red meat.
  12. Skinnygirl margarita is YUMMM!! I like 'em a little sweeter so I add a sprinkle of Equal. I've started getting some bad habits and have seen the scale stop for about a month. I've learned no ice cream in the house or I will it. I've learned things to snack on that are good for me rather than sabotage me, so hopefully I'll see some loss on the scale soon. I haven't had a fill in 2 months and don't really plan on getting one soon. I think any more restriction and it will be hard to eat. My problem now isn't how much I can eat, it's how soon I get hungry again. I can eat small amounts, but in about 1.5 - 2 hours, I'm hungry again. Kinda defeats the purpose, huh? Oh well...I'm gonna keep on trucking!
  13. LA...Los Angeles or Louisiana? Sorry for my blonde moment, just curious....
  14. WOW OH WOW!!! Amazing czynth! I'm ashamed to say I've yet to start the working out part of this. I'm a single working mom and I've used every excuse I can come up with. But you know what they say about excuses....
  15. WOW!! The one where you're wearing the black top and jeans and flexing...WOW! We're all doing so great! Thanks for sharing!
  16. WOOHOO!!! We rock, don't we??? Does anyone else do before/after pics to REALLY see their progress? This is the best way for me to feel and see my success. I'd love to see if any of you have pics. Here's mine
  17. Just got my third fill yesterday. The doctor was very congratulatory on my success...made me feel good! In May, the Baritriac Center is sponsoring a "Clean out your closet" day and going to let us set up tables to sell our too big clothes. Very excited about that b/c I need to make some serious room for all my new littler clothes. :bored:
  18. I feel the need to confess. I have gotten in the habit of eating something sweet before bed. For a bit it was Cap'n Crunch, then I bought some sugar free cookies but those still are loaded with calories and carbs. Tonight I got some more of the kids' cereal and ate til I was sick. I did so good for 3 months and now I'm losing control. WHY??!!
  19. WOAH!! I had my first true "stuck" episode this morning. I thought I was going to DIE! I've heard it was bad, but until you experience it, you just have no idea. I still feel sore from it and that was 7 hours ago! That sure does teach you to NOT do that again!
  20. Oh my goodness, YES! There are days where I can barely swallow anything w/o feeling like it's going to get stuck. And then there are days that I want to go HOG WILD and eat everything! I guess it's just a balance we have to find for ourselves. I'm still losing, so I'll take the ups and downs. :Banane20: It's been a few weeks since my last fill and I'm not in a real hurry to get my next one. I have a feeling this next one will do it for me, and for some reason, I'm a little scared. I've yet to have a PB or sliming experience and I really don't look forward to that. :Banane20:
  21. The picture idea worked for me. I had my son take pics of me the night before surgery. I had him take some more last night. WOW!! My profile view is unbelievable and it got me so excited. What a motivation to keep up with what I'm doing. 30 pounds has made a huge difference, so I can't wait to see what the next 30 will be like!
  22. WOOHOO!! Getting fill #2 today. Praying this one helps. I haven't lost a pound in 2 weeks and even GAINED one!! That's not good.
  23. OMG! I go for my 2nd fill next week, and as excited as I am, I'm not scared listening to your stories. YIKES! We're really doing this now, folks. ICK! But I really need the restriction. I was able to eat TWO pieces of pizza AND the toppings off a THIRD slice! Oh my GAWD! I still can't believe I did that, but I was so hungry and frustrated. And now I'm just mad at myself. Dangit!
  24. LOL @ burping with the kids. My kids have had a ball with it. I have a 2 boys, 2 y/o and almost 13 y/o. The 2 y/o goes into a fit of giggles every time I let one out and the oldest tries to out do me. It's been a pain, but fun! LOL!
  25. The doc had hoped after the fill that it would get better. And it did for a few days, but it's back with a vengence!
