  1. Happy 39th Birthday healthierdiva!

  2. Happy 38th Birthday healthierdiva!

  3. Hey..congrats on your surgery. For me, I didm't feel really full until the first two-three adjustments. I now can feel that I don't want any more food. You have to follow-up with you doctor every month. It's a must. I am 9 months out of surgery--lost alot more with the last adjustment. My loss has been slow but healthy. Good luck to you.
  4. It's normal to be scared. I was terrified when I walked into the operating room but took a deep breath and was fine. It really wasn't a big deal and 17 days out...I feel fantastic....minimal discomfort..and eating well, don't feel like I have a foreign device in my stomach....no more gas pain, can drink Water freely....and am feeling full after eating my meals. Hoping you went for it!! :smile2:
  5. Hi, Good luck with the pre-op..it's tough but it's preparing you for post op which is more difficult, trust me! You can do it. For the pre-op if you are craving sweets have sugar free Jello with sugar free whipped cream. I liked that and did well with it. I ate lots of veggie Soup. Clear broth with cooked vegetables. I ate a lot of veggies even though they told me just to eat 2 cups. I also ate egg whites if I craved Protein....but a cool shake idea if you like pumpkin and I still drink em' 1 vanilla Protein Shake 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree Libby's brand a lot of cinnamon Splenda put in blender with a few ice cubes.... tastes like pumpkin pie!! Try it!! Sounds gross but is YUMMY!!!!

    Who stayed overnight and why?

Hi, My insurance covered an overnight stay but I opted out of that. I wanted to be at home in my own bed and even though I felt out of it and uncomfortable, I was home. It was a little scary to be home the same day after the band and hiatal hernia surgery. If you can, stay overnight! If you like the comforts of your own home and have people to help you, go home!:smile2: Good luck!!
  7. Hi, It's a process. You prepare your body pre-surgery by drinking liquids which is very hard to do but not impossible. I did it..trust me! Anyway, after surgery you don't want to eat anything, I mean anything. Water is tough to drink. Ice-pops were my friend. 17 days out and I feel great-don't feel like there is a foreign anything in my body. I do feel a sensation of fullness when I eat and if I eat fast or don't chew well, things get "stuck" and it's very uncomfortable but overall it's really not bad at all but you have to follow doctor's orders to a "t". Good luck to you.

    Weight loss slow-down

Thank you so much for your positive words of encouragement! I needed to hear it. I am doing better and feeling better with each day. I have resolved to give myself a break and not beat myself up. It didn't take 2 weeks to get into this mess, it won't take 2 weeks to get out of it!! Good luck to all of you in this journey... Hugs!

    Easy way out?

People who say that it's a copout, don't know their stuff! You have to work HARDER with this. You have to watch everything that you eat. It's not a quick fix at all. You have to learn how to eat as if you never had a meal. You do you and don't worry about anyone who is trying to sabotage your desire to be healthy. Hang in there!!
  10. Hi, All- I had surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow and have only lost 21lbs pre and post surgery and haven't lost any weight in a week. Could my body be going into starvation mode? I am following doctors orders and eating healthy. Has anyone else experienced this? My doctor said to see her in 2 weeks. I don't want to become obsessed. Helpful hints, tips, suggestions, encouragement?! Help! Thank you, HD:cursing:

    Can I do this??

Good luck with your surgery. I would say that you will not feel up to it. I am a very strong woman and I felt so sick until about the 4th day. The gas pain is the worst and you feel really weak from only drinking liquids. I would sell your tickets!

Happy New Year Bandsters! Slim in 2010

:wub:Dear Bandster Friends, I am hoping that this New Year's Eve finds you happy, feeling good, and looking forward to 2010! I had my surgery on Christmas Eve- one week ago. I am feeling great today. It was a rough few days but I am doing good, weight is dropping, and I am looking forward to my birthday in January. Life is good, Life is good! :smile2: I am happy to be on this path of healtier living. I want to be healthy when I hit my 40's, 50's, 60's, etc. Seeing sickness around me all of my life has been the driving force for my weight loss. For some, telling people about their weight loss surgery is liberating, for others is scary. For me, I feel and I've responded to a few blogs about, that this journey is mine and mine alone and want to embrace this, own this, and live this. It's all about the goal and not how you get there. Get there, crawl there, fly there....any way that you do it.... congratulations! With admiration to people who have taken charge of their lives and have chosen to live the best life possible. Eliz:tongue:
