3/8/2010 I am back to work today, everything went very smoothly.  I had my surgery on 2/23 at 10:20 and was home by 4:30pm. Lost 8 lbs that first week.  I am glad to be back home in Orlando and back to work.  My first support group meeting is today, cannot wait. To date -35 pounds..go go..m-02/16/2010 Ok I am two days out from leaving for Caracas for my surgery on 2/23/2010 at 9:00am, other than being sad for leaving the kids.  I am blessed because my mother in law came to help my husband take care of them while i am away.  I should be a back by 3/3/2010 at the latest.  My first Postop support group meeting will be on 3/8 at celebration hospital, cannot wait.  God Bless all February bansters and hope to have updates soon.  Health in 2010!12/10/2009I have co-morbid conditions including Type II Diabetes, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Sleep Apnea and Restless leg Syndrome.  I am currently on several medications to keep my levels under control which add up to several hundred dollars a month and several doctor visits and tests during the year.  My doctors’ concerns are not only that I am considered morbidly obese, and have those existing conditions, but also that my family history is very alarming and include atherosclerosis, heart disease and stroke.  My mother at age 53 had a stroke and my dad at age 59 had quadruple bypass.  My mother had 9 brothers and sisters of which 5 passed away before they were 55 due to heart disease.My doctors believe that bariatric surgery is the only possible way for me to be able to get back to a healthy lifestyle and not depend on medications.  With this surgery there is a great chance of decreasing the prevalence or existence of any co-morbidities that I am affected by each and every day from morbid obesity.
