  1. BBQ Grilled chicken, Pea/carrots and Steamfresh roasted potatos!!! YUM:drool:
  2. Anyone ever hear of losing inches over pounds. It’s been about 4 weeks since surgery and my weight really has not moved. I seem to see my body measurement’s coming down but not the weight.... Am I alone?
  3. Just got back from the surgeon’s office, I met with the Nurse. She ended up pulling another surgeon in the room because mine is in surgery today. He is not sure what it is but said it MIGHT be fluid.. Whatever it is it has gone up under the port and turned it on its side ..He said it doesn’t look like or feel like infection or scar tissue… He said to watch it, take it easy and call on Monday if there is no improvement… Take Tylenol….well all the liquid and chewable Tylenols are on recall….and that stuff isn’t made in off brand.
  4. Going in to see the nurse this AM
  5. According to my surgeon massage of the scars are absolutely fine provided they are completely healed shut. Massage helps to break down the fibrous mesh that is formed in scar tissue, thus, encouraging remodeling of the tissue and promotes better healing of the scar. It also helps prevent scar tissue from getting hard. This mass is not near or beneath an incision. I didn’t have it before surgery. I am not saying it is related but things can happen. Nurse called and left a message. There phones have been down since yesterday…What a great thing to have happen in a surgical office…But she was on the phone when I called back.. Told me to call her in the A.M… P.S. I have also started running a fever..
  6. Im not doing it hard and they are all healed. It is a light rub. But this mass thing isnt under and incision like the port is.
  7. My masseuse had mentioned about rubbing my scars 30 minutes a day to help them heal and blend in better. So I started doing that a few days ago but this morning I came upon a golf ball sized hard mass type thing it is in between the two upper small incisions and the longer port incision like right below my right rib cage. I can feel something move when I walk and when I lay down that side of the stomach kind of sticks out. With palpation if feels tender. I am trying to figure out what it could be. I know where my port is I can clearly feel that but this is new. I called the surgeon yesterday right at 8am. The nurse was busy so I left a message on her machine. She never called me back. Today I called about an hour ago and she was busy yet again so I left another message. I would think this would be of some importance especially taking into consideration the way I felt this morning and the hot/cold sweats. I am pretty sure I was running a temp about two nights ago but I never checked it... I’m a little scared... I hope I didn’t do anything when I fell a week ago....
  8. How do you know if your port has turned for flipped on its side? Mine does not feel the same today as it did a week or so after surgery.
  9. Agree- So do I and the meat usually comes out falling apart. It is great and most of all...most of the time it is a one dish meal..no extra dirty pots etc! Which is a plus for me!!
  10. I am 16 days post op and I still cant lay on my stomach. I can lay on either of my sides but it is still uncomfortable enough to make me just sleep on my back. I can feel the port a little when I walk and some of my incisions are sore from clothes rubbing them. I also get these AMAZINGLY loud stomach growls when I am hungry. I eat a little of something and it goes away. Also my back hurts as well but it is due to me trying to compensate for loss of stomach muscle strength. I still hurt even now but it is not as bad. As far as the red tennis ball- sounds like a post-surgical hernia. Depending on how much fluffiness you have in the front you might be able to feel something the size of a marble which is the port but nothing bigger then that. I would schedule a appt with the surgeon and if the nurse asks why tell her you do not feel comfortable talking with her about it. She can not deny you medical care. If the surgeon does not do anything see your PCP. Hernias are common after surgery because they cut the muscle which makes it very weak. The slightest stress in a healing muscle wall can cause a hernia. That is also why they stress healing before you do to much.
  11. I suffer from major acid reflux.. I take powder nexium 40mg daily. It works great. Especially with the band
  12. Thanks sue, that is what I am currently doing.
  13. Ok so I had what I think was a stuck episode last night. But this morning I still feel like I have something stuck in my throat. Everything that I eat goes down ok and no slimmies. So I am thinking because of all the coughing and the few dry heaves that "it feels" like something is there but it really isnt? Does this make sense? Anyone else feel this way.
  14. Here is a kickback code if you have a VM phone! Gives you free 60 mins and me as well!! Enjoy!! dJ7FsvcT - Code is case sensitive

  17. I am currently 11 days post-op and I am looking for a lap band buddy!!! I live in PA but I really dont care where you are from its the buddy that counts!!
  18. I think I took my pain meds 6 or so days out then I realized all the itching that was going on was a allergic reaction to the pain med. Surgeon said to just take tylenol. I cant stand the taste of liquid tylenol so I have been without. The pain does get better.
  19. Ok so today I am 10 days post op. About three days ago I started having this weird pain like sensation in the back of my thighs, back of knee and sometimes back of calf area. It only happens when I stand up from sitting. Sometimes it is so intense that I feel like my legs are going to give out. It only lasts a few seconds after I stand then goes away. Any ideas what this could be?
  20. Molly- I was banded 9 days ago and my taste has changed quiet a bit. Some things do have a metalic taste or a horrible after taste where before they didnt bug me.
  21. Same here as soon as I walk in the door..sling shot..LOL
  22. Coughing, sneezing, rolling in bed, getting up and down in a chair, laughing- it all hurt VERY much. I pillow does help. I am 9 days out and things have calmed down but it still is tender to do anything I listed above.
  23. Its a serious question.. I swear.. For the larger or even smaller chested woman. Have any of you found it difficult to wear a underwire bra after surgery? Underwires have been the only thing I wear and now since surgery I am finding it VERY uncomfortable maybe even painful to wear one. Maybe cause it is pushing down on my breast bone and the band lies right below?
  24. Congrasts. I am about 27 pounds from onderland. I cant wait because I have not seen a "1" in like 12 years...
