    So rude

I really didn't tell but a select few from my friends..They just don't understand that we don't want to talk about the sugery we just want them to understand that we are having it.. Nothing more nerve racking that someone who is a professional about the body and how we should just push our plate away.. I understand I really really do.. I too wish that people wasn't soo shallow and hopeless..

    Any December Sleevers?

I have mine sometimes in December I have my last appointment with my Surgeon in December the 8th. I should have a concrete date for my sugery after meeting with the sugeon. Is anyone out there as scattered as me.. One minute I am thinking in my head wow this is the best thing that I could do for my self and the next minute I think what the world am I thinking about doing. Then I think I need to do this for my health. I just stay in right field and I don't get many balls hit towards me...LOL
  5. I have been studying the Acai berry for quite a while now and the benefits are very remarkable. First of all it is a super antioxident as well as a energy booster. There have been documented stdies of this berry increasing metabolism as well as helping the body decrease fat and increase muscle mass with exercise. Ok you folks know what you can and can't take so here is my question.. What are your thoughts on this and if it is such a energy increaser is it suitable for our needs. I would be willing to take this with my surgeons approval just for the health benefits of the berries..But like I said I don't know if you could even take this suppliment..Any thoughts???

    benefits of the acai berry

Thanks for the reply I feel like if it approved by doc it would be a good to be a experiment. The worst thing that could happen is you are making your body more healthy.. Guess that is what we are all here for. Who know if theses do give you energy for those that have low energy days it might even help them out.
  7. I have been overweight all my life. I am not a vane person but my question is what do you see when you are at your target weight when you have never seen anything other than being heavy all your life. The doc that did my psyc led me to ask this from the experience sleevers. When you look in the mirror how do you see yourself now and how does that make you feel,(emotions..etc.. )I really don't know what I am going to do not seeing that big person looking at me..

    Depression After Gastric Sleeve Surgery

have you checked your vitamen d levels I know if my levels are low it takes a toll on my body and creates a mild depression for myself. also If you use natural sunlight or bulbs that produce natural sunlight it will help with depression. I have a lot of seasonal depression when fall and winter is here my levels of vitamen d falls and it creates a depression for me. I take extra vitamen D and use natural sunlight it really does help
  9. A lot of people will probably not agree but I have heard that if you use swimming as your primary excercise that you body will create a thin lining of fat to keep your body warm. I had a professional diver as a friend and we talked about the benefits of swimming as a primary exercise. I really don't know if there is any truth to this but I know that swimming is easier on your joints. I would personally concentrate on more cardio getting that heart rate up burning on the 1000 carlories that your taking in..Try walking a brisk mile in 20 minutes. I usually go work out and only have to set the tredmill at 3 miles an hour to get my mile in 20 minutes. Just my thoughts on it good luck with the stall..

    Always been overweight!!!

This question was asked by the doc that was doing my eval..My jaw just dropped to the floor I had a answer for everything but this question.. I do appreciate your opinions very much..Acceptance of what you look like is going to be a long long journey for me..For me I have been emotionally abused as a child and I just pray everyday that the weight I am going to lose will help me with my self esteem as well as my confidence.

    Unsure of Wanting Surgery

If I have learned anything from these great people that this is nothing but a tool. Is is completely up to you what you put in your mouth after surgery. I feel sad that you have friends that are you friends so conditionally. You will find out really quickly that if you stay on here for any period of time you will have friends that will be your friend unconditionally.. We all support one another here no matter if it is good or bad.. I haven't had my sugery yet, but I know if I need answers these people on this forum are awesome. They are very straightforward ,honest and they will not candy coat it for you. I don't know how you other people feel but being healthy is better that the other alternative.. Heart diesease, diabetes, jointproblems, sleep apnea, highblood pressure, and a host of other great things you get from being overweight. Good luck..You always have a friend here if you need support

    Negativity

I really hate the ones that say I have had family that has weight loss procedures done and they really messed up and died because they couldn't control their eating. What the hell!!! You know I have been doing research on this subject for about 6 months. People got to understand that we as people are all not doomed to failure. I am fully aware that If I don't follow rules of pre op and post op especially. I am opening a really big big can of worms. I know that I probably land myself back in the hosptial with a leak or worse.. I just don't get that people just can't be there for support. I talked with my boss and he told me that I should tell everyone at work. I just don't know if I am comfortable with this.. I just don't want to get back from sugery with a million of questions of people asking me if I am sick or dying..I Think I am going to write a letter the day that I leave and tell everyone at my plant so they will all know what is going on.. I have picked my best friends and I am going to tell them personally. They just don't understand that we don't really want their opinions we just want to be heard and understood.. Nothing more!!!

So I am trying to do the planning I need to do and getting the stuff I need so I want be shell shocked at the last minute..I want to thank all of you for commenting on my post and I am really glad that yall are here. My road is very long and I am glad I have all of you to help me on the way..Thanks all .. I will post more when I have more to update..
  15. I have a really big decesion to make I guess. I probably can have surgery before Christmas if I want. I just don't know if I want to..I talked with my docs nurse and she tells me that if you are ready it doesn't matter what time the surgery you will go in full steam. I really really want to have surgery as soon as possible. I just don't know if I can do this so close to Christmas. They said my projected surgery date would be some time in middle of December. I know this is a really big step in the unknown for me so I toss and turn at night trying to make the right decision. I feel like a new year would be a new beginning. I may be forced to have it before the end of the year.. I know there are a lot of of people in this forum that has had this done. Any thoughts or am I just over thinking everything..

I have at least 145 pounds to lose

I have to lose 165 plus pounds and I am going to do it. The more exercise you do the more energy you have(at least for me) try to up your calorie intake..Your metabolism will take off if you eat more very small meals than hardly none at all. I know from all my research you have to exercise for at least 30 minutes daily to be effective and also try not to eat and drink at the same time it will wash food down. You can do it!!!! Stay strong and I will be with the sleevers soon I hope..

Vertical band in high bmi patients

I am only at a 52 bmi. but I am sure that I will lose some weight before surgery..I am hoping to lose about 20 or 30 lbs before. I am working really hard towards my fitness and eating better before I ever get a date to help me make the change.
  21. I have just required what my insurance company requires from me to have vertical sleeve surgery. I have studied all the procedures in length..I have decided for my self that I am chosing vertical sleeve as my choice.. I am excited inside but a little nervous. My Bmi is 51-52. How sucessful is this surgery on high bmi patients that use it as a stand alone surgery? sorry for the misprint..
