  1. :mad:Down 1.2--I think it is more, but TOM strikes again--in fact TOM is striking every other week--must have this stopped immediately!!
  2. Today is my 5mth bandiversary, so I recapped my progress in another thread, but I will respost here: June 09--first 6mth visit--BMI of 63%: initial referral 383lbs:cursing: Dec 15--last 6mth visit--354lbs:wink2: Dec 31, 2009-Jan 14 (surgery day)--pre-op diet 334:smile2: Jan 15, 2010-June 14--290 and bunches of inches:thumbup: Sizes--30/32 to 22/24, 20 (tops) All that with a lot of hard work, little restriction and 2 fills, and cardio/weight workouts a minimum of 4 times a week. So for anyone struggling, you can do it--it is hard work, but it is achievable work. Hey I am no bean pole--still a long way to go, but I can see some progress! Yeah to all my Jan band journeys!!!
  3. No time to catch up, but hooray for everyone on their successes, remodeling ventures, and new workout achievers--just wanted to pop in. Today is my 7th wedding anniversary and my 5th month bandiversary. I am 7yrs with a the man I love, and five months with the band I love. So in honor of my 5mths, I thought I would look back at my journey (briefly, because it is a journey--who can recap all that?) June 09--first 6mth visit--BMI of 63%: initial referral 383lbs:cursing: Dec 15--last 6mth visit--354lbs:wink2: Dec 31, 2009-Jan 14 (surgery day)--pre-op diet 334:smile2: Jan 15, 2010-June 14--290 and bunches of inches:thumbup: Sizes--30/32 to 22, 20 (tops) All that with a lot of hard work, little restriction and 2 fills, and cardio/weight workouts a minimum of 4 times a week. So for anyone new, you can do it--it is hard work, but it is achievable work. Hey I am no bean pole--still a long way to go, but I can see some progress!
  4. My first fill was a no go--I had to go back because he could not access my port--the second fill took awhile but he was able to do it. I go for 3rd fill the end of this month--it gets easier everytime I am sorry you have had so much trouble. I hope the surgery will be helpful in getting you better fills.
  5. I thought it was just me--since my mother says it has to be nice when you say something, I declined to respond because I could not think of anything but duh--it is probably empty, you're probably on liquids--why do you need restriction, or even this band thing is not going to be pretty for you if you want restriction the first day.
  6. Should be fine--formula in cell was deleted That is happening alot. To everyone, just a reminder, just enter your weight with a plus or minus to indicate gain or loss. Do not enter anything in the cells that are not highlighted in yellow--ie, you do not have to enter total weight loss or ending weight. Once you enter your weight, those will be calculated automatically!
  7. Raw veggies especially lettuce don't go down as well for me, so no it is not a slider. I usually get a grilled chicken salad, eat all the chicken first, then eat the lettuce as I really have to concentrate chewing it. I am better with shredded lettuce and use that often!
  8. And you go you size-13-wearing-jeans hottie lol:thumbup:
  9. Your cravings do subside or change. I was carb/bread addict myself, but not a huge fan of fish--now I crave fish and crabcakes often or other protein. I never was a cake/sweet eater, so really not a problem now. Same thing with peanut butter--yuck before the band, now I am eating the reduced fat creamy all the time--putting it in shakes, spreading on bananas or whole-wheat crackers.
  10. Alright you jogging hottie! lol:thumbup: Lee Anne--Praise God! I am glad to hear things are better for your mom
  11. Please read this thread--it is very helpful: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f178/attention-those-who-less-than-3-months-post-op-discouraged-read-here-114132/

  13. I am also always cold--keep a coat in my office, car, and sit under a blanket sometimes at the house when hubby has the air cranking!!!
  14. I too use livestrong.com/dailyplate. Now do I do it every single day--no, but it is great tool to track not just calories but my Fiber, carbs, and sodium (water retention so I have to pay attention to salt) which I cannot do in my head. Now if I have eaten typical foods that I already know the calories and all the other information, then I do not journal. I especially like to use it to pre-plan, like if I am going to restaurant, I go ahead and log so I can see the calories, etc. When you are reprogramming and unlearning habits, not being cognizant about what I ate helped get me here. There were some days I ate fast food for every meal and even though some of it was healthy, the portion size still packed in the calories. Whether you journal or not I feel is less important than some kind of awareness of what you're eating. If anything journaling provides discipline--which I had lacked. Your band, your journey, your way...
  15. I have not seen six since I was six!! Great job. You better believe it counts--find you a good wall and get your sexy lean on!!
  16. Catching up (briefly--sorry for those I missed--but I am at work--sshhh:wink2: Karen--it is frustrating--hang in there with your hubby too:smile2: Could it just be water retention from excercise? Lee Anne--sorry about your mother--you are in my prayers Leigha--great job on the plateau kick Denise--channeling positivity about your BP Stacie--SUPER onederland!! Amy--sorry about the pics--can you get some from family and friends? Betsy--question about pantothenic acid--I know you take a supplement--do you find it helps with water retention as research and NUT suggested? I have bad edema around ankles and broken vessels. Trying hard to reduce my sodium to 1000 mg, get plenty of protein, keep my carbs/sugar down/add whole grain, get my veggies and fruit, keep it low in fat, exercise, and get up and walk at work during the day to reduce swelling, and get in 64oz of water to help with my water retention--AND THEY HAVE A NERVE TO SAY WLS IS THE "EASY" WAY OUT:confused:
  17. Down 2lbs-cranked the exercise up, so expecting a little more, but I am definitely not complaining!
  18. Way to go! What a great accomplishment. Almost about to reach the same milestone, so you're my inspiration.:cursing:
  19. Anne, so sorry you did not have the surgery. I know how disappointing that could be. You have some tough decisions, and I am no expert on either surgery, but I have to agree with Karen. The gastric bypass, with it's rapid weight loss seems unecessary when you are under 200lbs. I would definitely get a second opinion
  20. For me they not the same--in fact my definition of mushy was things that did not require chewing--my stage was called pureed, then soft solids like eggs, cheese, fish etc then finally regular food. Follow what your doctor or nutritionist says.
  21. My daily acid reflux pill, two huge crates of clothes, and working on my BP meds--hoping when I go back to my regular doctor in a few months, they will be gone too!! I also got rid of the terrifying thought that I would just keep getting bigger and killing myself.
  22. Lol, thanks Bob--actually, I am a lot larger than I look--can't put it away yet but I am on the right track! I carry my own because some airlines do not have but a few on board--better safe than sorry!
  23. I fly alot--I have never been asked to buy an extra seat--do not worry. I did, however, purchase my own seatbelt extension so that I do not have to ask the airline for one.
  24. LOL Leigha on the animal:lol: I mean really! Thanks Leigha for compliment on pics! I actually run a reading program during the summer so I get about week off right after school gets out and a week before school--I know crazy, but I need the extra money for all my purchases! lol BTW--I do not think you are giving up. You look phenomenal and better yet, you are healthy and more physically fit--to me that is success!!! Bobbie--Go girl Stacie--way to go on vacation--that is a big deal Karen--Yeah sweetspot!! Good for you and work that bathing suit!!!! Thanks for the compliment. Thanks to your guys, I am really working to change my life and outlook about eating Amy--hang in there Hey to everyone I missed and welcome any newcomers!!
