banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
I bought those easy tone Reeboks--my husband said my butt has lifted. He is not a good liar, so maybe those damn $100 sneakers are working--better be. The pants I have are sagging off me--I know it is time to stop wearing them thanks to the teacher assistant who always says "time to pack those up boss" Probably not a good look going on back there, but I am true professional diva...I know I still look good.

Well if the food went down and stayed down, I would say no, but I am no expert.

Is This Normal?
Burping is usually the soft sign to stop--continuing to eat after this last fill just makes me feel uncomfortable.

I think that might not be a bad idea--new year, new thread. I think we may have lost some people because the thread is so long and difficult to follow? I do not know. I think people feel like you have to post daily maybe? As for me, I have lost 9lbs since my last fill, but I only say 6lbs because I had gone up 3lbs right before it. It is funny how it took almost 40lbs at first to even notice a major difference in clothes. Now with these few pounds, clothes someone just gave me, now have saggy booty syndrome (hate saggy booty syndrome-can take big in the waist, but saggy booty duty I cannot handle:thumbdown:) Oh well, I am going to take my saggy booty down the halls of the school and wonder how attractive I am looking from behind:blink:

Everytime I get a fill, I have that chest pain. It goes away after things loosen up a bit. It feels for days like you are having a heart attack!

Bye Bye 300's
That is awesome--I have been out of the 300's for awhile. It slipped right by me, so celebrate. I had planned to celebrate onderland, but I have quite a ways to go, I guess I need to pick a mini goal. Again CONGRATS!

Yeah--it was not a good look:blushing: lol. We got one of those belts to help pull her, because I said the same thing to my mom--I need my back point blank. I will not be at the club Christie bent over--okay unless it is a new dance:biggrin:

Well back to normal. Wow what a day. I guess Melody it was like you said, that it was body just reacting to the sudden switch to carbs. Going through a lot of stress, but determined not to eat. My mom just got out of the hospital last Sunday, and then last Wednesday fell and fractured her shoulder bone. She was released again today. She now requires 24 hr care so my sisters are trying to rotate. She was already disabled and could barely walk, so she cannot do anything by herself. It took my three sisters and myself to get her in the car and in the house. My mom is 300lbs or more. We all have sore backs--okay mostly my 6'5" hubby, but we helped:). My sister is angry because my she feels she did this to herself in many ways of years of being morbidly obese and doing crazy stuff like driving to the mailbox instead of walking. As I said to her no one taught her and she did not teach us to take care of our bodies. My sister is by no means skinny in fact I am catching her at a size 18. Slipped on a size 20 with some room to spare:) and a pair of 18 jeans that are snug but fit kinda of sexy. I am saving for the club Christie:) Long way from a size 28, 30/32 not where I want to be but today I was grateful that I'm heading in the right direction. My mom has 21 things diagnosed (no exaggeration.) Of the 21 things only two are not related to her weight or that her weights does not worsen the problem. I said all of that to say that though this journey is rough, hang in there, that it really is worth it and celebrate yourself every step of the way. Unlearning a way of life is not easy. I am fighting now as if my life depended on it--since a great deal of the 21 is hereditary, it really does! Okay I am off my soapbox now.

Yeah Christie. Way to keep the party jumping Melody: had a crazy day. Yesterday sucked on a piece candy just to get nasty taste of mouth. I was on liquids. Well just as soon as I did that had to run to toilet and no not puke--the other end sorry TMI. Well today I got up to make some chilli for a luncheon later that day. I got so queasy and a little dizzy. I thought maybe since I have not been getting in a lot of calories, maybe I was just weak plus I had not eaten or drunk a shake? So I went and got a Dannon Greek yogurt. I ate it and a few more minutes later back in the bathroom followed by being cold and weak. Tried to eat a devil egg later--back to the bathroom. Finally tried the chili I had with ground chicken. Just about 1/3 of a cup. Finally it stayed in me! Was this dumping? The shakes I had been drinking had no sugar.

Chili and Soups...Sliders???
Just had chilli with ground chicken! Delicious and very filling. Like everyone else, I make it pretty thick. If I do eat soup, it is pretty hearty and I may eat a wheat thin or two to give me the full feeling.

Flipped Port :( ???
My port has flipped as well. My doctor has been giving my fills by flipping it manually. He is leaving, so I am getting a new one. The new doctor will probably do a revision. The fipping pit thing just happens. Because of my body shape, my port was positioned at an angle.

Christie--you and Steve--he may need counseling:) Leigha--sorry about the spouse--is the band like a magnet that draws the stupid out of spouse's or drama to marriages? Denise--sorry about the teeth--I am so fearful--I admit I miss my last dentist appoint. I know, I know, I am going! Melody--go you--glad the scale was merciful after your scary episode! Btw, I'm with Elcee--if spaghetti squash is a sin, then I have a big room in hell for waiting for me for some of the stuff I ate. Stacy--continue to hang in there As for me, got a fill yesterday:) It was my last visit with my surgeon--the parting is bittersweet--The kicker is I had the best fill experience ever. You all know my port is flipped, so fills have been painful having to try access it and being stuck over 5 or 6 times. Well, wouldn't you know, my surgeon knew exactly where the port was--one tiny prick to numb me and bam--fill. No pain, or nothing! He said he was going to talk to the new surgeon well about my port--suggest he does fluoroscopy or port revision surgery since as he put "He will not be acquainted with your port as I am."

I seriously could have slapped her
If you are not afraid of jail or other consequence, next time go ahead Seriously, I cannot stand people who become an expert on my body. That is why I say something smart like, "Oh, when did I sign over power of attorney over my body to you?

Regular clothes?
I wore leggings and things with elastic the first few days. When I returned to work, I put gauze over my incisions so my clothes would not irritate them.

I HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!! (Onederland!)
Congratulations Christie--what a great job you have done--go hottie

Hey Leigha--I cannot say my NUT offered much that has not been heard before. She put me at 1600 calories a day, 400 calories per mean and 100-150 calories if I need to snack. She did say, however, that if I need to snack, that I definitely need a fill (DUH). She said to keep a balance of whole-grain carbs if bread, or fruits and veggies--no more than 90-100 net carbs a day, around 30 carbs with each meal. Then gave me a bunch of meal and snack suggestions that were quick and easy and high in protein--same spill, log every calorie, eat protein first, no drinking and eating at same time, blah, blah like I just got my band. I just went to her because it is free and to make me accountable. Of course exercise 5 days. Not to drink my meals, etc same stuff! After all that, I still had my shake for breakfast:). I have to grocery shop to start her plan, so will try her way end of this week. I was trying to tell her how drastically the new job changed me life and wanted to hear help how to get deal with new job and focus on me. It is hard to focus on me when you run a school. With the band, you have to be frankly selfish and be about you--not as easy to do now. She was not helpful in that aspect, so I just said, hey I need to sit down, and plan for myself. I decided one, to cook up a bunch of food and freeze it, break out the crock pot, and bring a bunch of my protein stuff at school. Exercise I took care of when I joined the gym close to the school so I can just leave and go straight there--now I just need to make sure I schedule that. (I explained to her that I had a death and had been out of town and soon as we got back in town, mom has been in hospital--just got out yesterday and had messed up my exercise routine the past few weeks--she just looked at me as if I was just making excuses:mad:)

Welcome bacK Bobbie! With the new job you will be right back on track! Hang in there Stacie and you have every right to vent! Melody you will find what works. Stay encouraged. Okay I got a letter yesterday. My surgeon is leaving! I will see him for the last time on November 11. I looked up new surgeons/bariatric centers that insurance will approve now--new rule that they must be on the list. My current doctor was not because of him using a smaller hospital he does his surgeries is not approved, so it works out for the best--now if I ever had to (God forbid) have revision or corrective surgeries, I could get approved. Most importantly Phil can get a proper fill and we can be friends again:)

Pain assoc with too much food..remedy?
I use papaya enzymes and find they do work for most. When I venture to eat something doughy and soft like a tortilla, I tend to take them with the first bite to be proactive. I waited about 6 months out from my surgery before eating tortilla or doughy breads, pastas, etc.

Steve is indeed one of a kind. As for Phil--He is not feeling/filling me and I am not feeling him:thumbdown:

Any January 2010 Bandsters????
Congrats--great attitude--its is a journey not a race:) I have not been up here in so long. I guess to give an update I have lost 109lbs, 30 on the 6mth supervised visits, 20 on the pre-op and the rest after surgery. Had a flipped port problem, so set me back because no fill for a while until end of September (surgeon flipped manually instead of surgery). Go for 4th fill Nov. 1--hoping to get some restriction--none right now. Want to be 244 by 1 year bandiversary--I better get moving as I am at 274 now! Ugh. Pre-band picture (I am on the left) Two weeks ago:

Thanks everybody for the insight! I feel better. I was beginning to feel like I was whining and not using the band as tool--you have helped me see right what I have thought along and that is right now I do not have much of a tool! Thanks Melody--I am good with taking the Krispy Kreme--they are so sweet--they have always made me sick. If I do eat, I can only eat one and that has to be with milk. So all they way from NC, I will cart 3 dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts to NY! Besides--the yummy feeling diminishes without the "HOT" sign on:biggrin: A talking scale--hmm...mine will probably need to have the ability to curse at me:wink2:
-
Do you have a 14 cc band?
I am at 5.5 and no very little restriction and can eat anything pretty much

Congrats Crystl and Melody Pretty bummed. My Uncle died so going to NY this week. Working hard to not emotionally eat. Doing good so far. Although all my NY folks want me to pick up Krispy Kreme doughnuts and bring them with me! On a side note, another bandster and myself were venting that our surgeon does not have a support group, so we are going to start one. We talked about the urge to clean your plate Even when we you put a small amount, fighting the urge to go back and eating to the point of feeling stuffed. The soft signs are not there because of having no restriction. Does restriction help you from literally taking another bite? Since my doc is stingy with fills, she has had one fill! I am just starting to have this emotional battle like her with less restriction. I was just asking because I wanted to know if it was something that the band with restriction can help or do she and I need to learn to live with and conquer this mental demon by sheer will and determination?
