  1. Congratulations! You're Approved may be the two of the greatest words in the English language!
  2. I lost 1.6. WOOHOO! My new weight is 246.4.
  3. I love this!!! Congrats on your successes...not the bands! You are such an inspiration!
  4. I took 2 weeks off as well. I could have gone back to work after one, but I had the time to use, and it has been nice getting to stay home and adjust to everything without "life" interfering too much.
  5. My info was forwarded to BCBS on 3/22. I called BCBS on 3/26 to check the status of the approval/denial and was told that they had sent the approval notice to my drs office the previous day. Later that day, my doctors office called to let me know that they had received the notice and that I was approved.
  6. Congrats on your preop weight loss, and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  7. Congrats everyone on successful surgeries!
  8. Don't give up! There are companies such as carecredit that will allow you to finance the surgery. Is financing an option?
  9. My current weight is 248. My goal weight by Memorial Day is 240.
  10. I was also banded on 4/19 at 7am. My surgery was outpatient, but I was not discharged until 5pm due to the number of hours post op that my surgeon wanted to wait before doing the barium swallow. I do agree with Banded2010 though. I could get NO rest in the hospital. One lady even work me up to let me know that she was switching out the sharps container! LOL!! I was thrilled to get home and actually have an uninterrupted nap!
  11. I'm 29 and was banded this past Monday 4/19/10!
  12. jalivia2......248........248...........170
  13. This is my first check in since surgery on Monday 4/19. Everything went well, and I was able to go home the same day. Other than a nasty bout with gas pain on 4/20, everything has gone smoother than I had expected. Best wishes to those being banded today and in the next few days!
  14. Congratulations on getting a date!
  15. Houston, TX here. I will be banded Monday 4/19.
  16. hmmm...I was told that I will only have to wear them during sugery and until discharge.
  17. I take Centrum chewables and they are awful. I may have to try what you are taking. Where did you find them?
  18. I have BCBS of TX PPO and it took 2 business days for approval. 3 business days from the time that my paperwork was submitted to the time that my drs office called me to let me know that I had been approved. I keep hearing that BCBS one of the easiest ins companies as far as approvals go.
  19. Hi Stacey - My doctor said that I could go back to work when I felt up to it as well. However, I want time to adjust to the band, and could really use a break so I requested 2 weeks off. I am using 7 sick days and 3 vacation days. At my company, STD is not an option until you have missed 11 work days.
  20. Thanks Drasan! I will be banded on Monday and think that questioning yourself about Water is excellent. I will definitely use that!
  21. Hi Monique! I'm in Houston and will be banded on Monday 4/19. My surgeon only required a 5 day liquid diet for me, and this is day one. I know everyone is different, but so far I have not had any problems...just make sure that you have distractions. When you start to get hungry, have some Water and a quick chat with a co-worker, or take the dogs out...etc. It passes!
  22. Congrats and best wishes for success!
  23. Congrats! That's wonderful!!
  24. Congrats! I am so happy to hear that your recovery is going so well! My surgery date is coming quickly, and I am hoping for similar results!
