  2. i had my second fill on the 10th feb, since then my stomache feels really different, it like i can feel the tightness of the band, im on liquids at the moment and can move onto pured food this afternoon, but im scared to i have been eating soups and putting extra protein powder in and water i am loosing and have now after 11wks post op hit 50lb loss, but food is scaring me. i had a soup today with small and i mean small chunks of vegies init which went down with out any problems and soup is now filling me up. the soup tub is 600g and i had half of it with protein and water added. am i alone thinking this or does everyone have this. the weirdest part is the change to the way my stomache feels is this the restriction or is there something wrong. i have no pain just this feeling thats different.

  7. imnot saying that i dont do excercise i do but i use the games on wii to burn calories and excecise games such as biggest looser usa to add tone and strengh back up again whilst still burning calories. we dont have to runa marathon every day to loose weight and get fit, i cant because of disabilities anyway. but i have gone back to work now after 2 years not being able to because of my disabilities caused by avery serious car accident i had in jan 2007, that will also help ok im not throwing 1 ton bags around all day im a receptionist in a busy hotel chain, but im moving around for 8 hours a day.
  8. my hubby bought me a wii fit plus with some other games too i play those doesnt feel like excercise but 2 hours later an i burn 300 cals just playing boxing its awesome and i dont feel like it a chore it enjoyable, it works for.
  9. hi i do agree with the excersie thing but if you think about it every movement you make weather it be getting dressed having a shower or playing cards withtthe kids, it is all movement which is excerciseing a part of your body, i have fibromyalgia so exstensive excersie is difficult but i am excersing everytime my body moves however small that may be.
  10. just a thought but this feeling of being run down etc. are you taking a good strong vitimin with minerals and Calcium, it is very important that your body gets the things it needs most of all, i take a high strengh vit wityh mins and calcium every day if i dont after a few days i feel very run down and blah im 10 weeks out not and after taking these i feel great even if im not hungry which sometimes im not especailly in the am i still take them to keep me topped up, find a good quality chewable or one that can easily be chopped up so you can take it with getting stuck hope this helps flo xx
  11. hi im 10wks out and totally understand where you are coming from i felt like that at first, but hey it gets better i promise the gas is normal some people feel it more than others, keep walking around it will go the more you move around the better give it another week it will pass being hubgry or not will not effect the gassy pains, keep to what you doc has told you and youll be fine, dont forget the pain killers they help big time.
  12. You are a clear example of people living their belief system. You clearly don't believe it will work and wollah!! Guess what!!! It doesn't work. Try changing this belief and see the miracles it can bring into your life!!! It isn't as hard as it sounds. Everytime this belief pops into your head, replace it with "I can do this" Simple as that. Hugs!!! i have had the band for 10 weeks now and yes i have to work really hard, at the time of my surgery i was a wheelchair user and told because of that my chances of failure was higher because i was vertually unable to excerise, but 10 weeks later and only one fill al be it 5ml ina 10ml band i have lost weight by sure determination and sweat and pain. i am now 47lb lighter and not using my wheelchair at all in actual fact i start work tomorrow for the first time in years, because i got off my butt and thought very positively about my future and the band. i have an 18 year daughter who doesnt beleive she can make anything of her self, she decided to go in to the army again thinking that she couldnt pass the tests she had to go through i sat her infront of a mirror 5 times aday and made her tell herself not me or her dad "I CAN DO THIS" it took months to get her to do this but eventually she said it and kept saying, she went for her tests and passed her fitness was really dreadful, she started training with me and her dad pushing her she passed selection and i s now waiting for her enlistment date. i think you need to take your head out of the clouds and save up for the fills ok so $50 a month 5 months you got your fill money and you need to take a long hard look in a mirror at yourself, you had the op for a reason you didnt like what you saw in the mirror just like me. so what are you wainting for start telling yourself and get the people you love around you telling you "YOU CAN DO THIS" being able to or not able to is all in the mind and the mind is a very powerful tool good or bad to making you choose your choices in life and by retraining your mind you re train your thoughts too. i wish you every happiness and hope you can kick start you band life again soon flo xxx god bless
  13. hi your body is still getting used to the band the breathing thing is that when you are operated on they pump gas so they can see the area they need to work on this gas collects under your diaphram which is under your boob area this causes pressure up wards, keep walking and moving around this will pass,. the more you move around the quicker it will pass. i had exactly the saem problem straight after surgery for a week or maybe a bit longer but it will pass. just keep taking small sips if the preasure feels bad, you dont want to get constipated on top of it.
  14. hi im sorry to hear of your pain, i had this issue at first, the port is actually sewn to your muscle under the skin and fat layer on you tummy, so when you cough your muscle moves and becuase it not used to having anything sewn to it the area will have quite a bit of swelling there too, take some pain meds every 4 or 6 hours depending on what they have given you even if the pain is not too bad you need to keep them in your system at a the level you doctor has prescribed at least for the first week or so, dont be worried about it flipping and stuff it is not a common feature of the band it does happen but it is sewn in very securely. i fit is really bad i got a bandage and put it round the area of my port so that when i coughed i could hold that rea a bit tighter and it diod help so much. i really hope this gets easier for you. god bless flo
  15. hi i am 10 weeks out on friday, i was so nervous i cried onthe way to theatre, when i cam round i had so much gas pain i thought what have i done, but day three was so different i thought i had dreamt it all,i was given disolvable pain killers which i was told to take every 4 hours which i did they helped so much, i have fibromyalgia so if ofund moving around so difficult as i wheelchair user, but i have lost 45lbs now and with that came more movement to the stage i dont use my hweelchiar now. my pain has dropped to nearly nothing now, im even walking round the shopping centre now slowly but im walking. fluids are the most important straight after surgery at least 2-3 litres a day to stay hydrated, constipation is not funny when you have had the band done. but so as your doc tells you and you will be just fine. good luck and keep us posted of how your doing, this site has a whealth of information from others in your same situation and everyone very happy to share with you, dont be scared of asking anything you will be amazed at the response you will get back. welcome to your new journey!!
