  4. 15 lbs of muscle is awesome. I am like a turtle. Slow and steady. I am down 32 lbs. I walk 4-5 miles a day and hit zumba class at least twice a week. I am able to do things now without being out of breath in seconds. It really is an awesome feeling, playing basketball with my daughter and chasing her around the yard. I am very happy with this choice.

  5. You look AWESOME, girl

  6. Hello and thanks for the add. I hope you are doing well in your journey.

    December Delights 2009

Hello December Delights, It's been a while since I've posted, and I hope that you are all doing well and looking forward to warm weather. I most certainly am. I've had some success since my last post. I had previously been too tight, but that has been corrected and I've even had a fill since then. I went to a support group meeting at my doctors office earlier this month and felt a little disappointed about my weight loss compared to some of the others. There was one lady who had lost 78 lbs since her surgery in November. I have only dropped 25 since my surgery in December. I was thinking "Man, I must be doing something wrong". However, I have come to the conclusion that everyone is different and losing at my own pace is fine, as long as I get to my goal. It might take me a little longer, but I'm ok with that. I am down 8 pounds since my last fill, which was about 3 weeks ago (around the time of the support meeting). I've started setting a walking goal for myself each week, usually 25 miles and then I either hit the road or walk at home with the "walk away the pounds" DVD. I'm up to 5 miles a day and oh so excited about it. I also try to do zumba twice a week at the gym. I feel very motivated and will do what I have to do to reach my goals. It is very nice to have you guys to reach out to for support and I'd like to thank each of you who have responded when I really needed help. Hugs to all of you!!!
  8. You look amazing!!

Had my second fill today. Think I'm too tight. Can't keep anything down including my own saliva. Called the doc and the answering service is going to have him call me back. This really sucks right now.

    Period talk.

I've noticed in the past 2 months before my period, I am nauseous, have some serious bowel episodes and have a lot of pain on the left side of my abdomen. Anyone else having similar issues since being banded?

Well, it's been 2 weeks since my first fill and now it feels like I never had one. The doc said he put 5cc in and I felt restricted the first week. Now, not so much at all. Today, I've been hungry all day since I'm on some sort of PMS rollercoaster, and although I've made healthier choices than I would have in the past, I feel like a bottomless pit. Just needing some encouragement, I guess. Hope all is going well for all of you.

The fill was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I had myself all worked up over it. I got 5cc today and was able to drink the water they gave me before I left. I had some water since then and it must have been too much because it came right back up. I guess, I'm gonna have to learn how much I can eat/drink all over again. I'm on liquids for the rest of today, but can start back with regular stuff gradually tomorrow. I hope everything went ok for you!!! Let me know.

Thanks and i think you might be right. I don't have a fever, but I feel like I would feel so much better if I could just throw up, but I can't. I tried last night and I had this huge burp that I didn't think it would ever end. No food or anything came up, though. I go back to work today, so we'll see how that goes. I'm gonna call the dr when I get to the office and see if what he has to say. Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it!!!

Hi and I hope all my fellow December Bandsters are doing well. I am hoping that some of you can give me some advice or let me know your experiences. I have been feeling nauseous since I woke up this morning (nope I'm not pregnant...lol) and it is getting worse as the evening goes on. I have been suffering with gas and diarrhea since before my surgery, but I'm drinking a lot, so I don't think I'm dehydrated. Is this something that is considered normal or should I be worried? I have my first post op appointment on the 6th. I posted this in both the December Bandsters and here to make sure I got it in the right place. Are we just using this one now?

    The Card...Do you have one?

You can get the card by joining my lapband journey at lapbband.com. The informational packet my dr gave me had a temporary one and a card to fill out and mail for a permanent one. I mailed mine and it came back because I forgot to fill something out on it. You have to know what size band you have.

    December Delights 2009

Hello all. I'm 9 days post op and HUNGRY. I had some pureed chili yesterday and it was very good, although I have to say it filled me full of gas. I noticed today when I weighed myself that I had gained 2 lbs since surgery and must admit that I can't seem to drink as much as I used to at all. I was wondering if this is normal. Hope you are all doing well and that you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
  20. Hey girl, I'm doing well. I don't have any pain in my shoulder anymore. Thank God for the heating pad. I still have some tenderness at my incisions, too and I tend to feel bloated (gas) a lot. Let me ask you, what are you eating now and when you eat can you tell if you're full or get any sort of sensation when you've had enough? I've moved back tosome of the things I was eating on the pre op diet and it seems to be going fine. I'm so glad I did this and I hope you feel the same about your decision to have the surgery. Merry Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!!

    Woo-hoo - Today's the day!

I'm praying all will go smoothly for you today. I got my band on Friday the 18th. I haven't had too many problems, just some pain in my shoulder. The heating pad and walking around the house was awesome for that. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

I'm officially Banded!!!!!! Surgery was yesterday morning. Everything went fine. I got there at 7 am and was home by 1:30 pm. I'm very sore and my left shoulder feels like someone took a baseball bat to it, but the heating pad works wonders for that. I am so thankful to God and to all of the support on this site. Now the real jouney begins.

    December Bandsters 2009

It's 5:50 AM here. I'm getting my daughter ready for school, sending her to the neighbor's, and then I'm heading to the hospital. I have to be there at 7. I'm surprisingly calm this morning. Good luck to all of you Dec 18 bandsters and to the rest of you who are nearing surgery.
