I have had mine since 2003. Had a slip repair in 2006. Left same band in, just moved it up. All in the same surgery. Then just on the 2nd of this month, I had a replacement. I had scar tissue and a small slip. I still have the reflux, but am hoping it's just from being swollen?! Im giving it time to heal. I can't imagine being without my band! Good luck to you! i had a LAP-BAND®® put in nov 12, 2009. i loved it and was doing well until a few weeks ago when i began having pain and reflux and ultimately, I had to have it removed a few days ago due to slippage and obstruction. the plan was reposition it, but my surgeon felt upon seeing my stomach that it needed time to heal before banding again. i'm very disappointed and down abt it. i am already excited abt doing it again, despite the troubles i had. i am also a private pay patient, so this is extra hard to swallow. i still feel the LAP-BAND®® is the right choice for me. my question is, have any of you chosen to have a second LAP-BAND®® surgery and, if so, how long were you required to wait between surgeries (from removing the first one to placing the 2nd one?) thanks in advance for any input
