  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary Nettlesaok!

  4. hey! Thank you for your comment!! You are doing great! The first fill is kind of a tricky one... I remember that I didnt have much restriction after the first fill either. I did my best to follow a diet, and no snacking, but I spent ALOT of time hungry. It wasnt until my 3rd fill that I hit what everyone calls the "sweet spot" I am not able to eat much, but i stay full for about 4-5 hours at a time which is awesome! With this last fill there was a time of learning that I had to go through though because you cannot continue to eat as normal anymore. I did alot of throwing up until i re-learned how to eat. I had that fill in August and i have not needed one since. Its been quite an experience, but I am soooo pleased with the outcome, as I know you will be too! Keep in touch ok? And if I can answer any questions, I would be happy to :) Take care!

    First fill --- no change?????

Thankyou everyone that responded to my concern, "First Fill --- no change????". This have truely been helpful. I will give my doctor a call this morning and schedule for a second fill. Wish me luck!!!
  6. Hey there! I was curious as to how you are doing now that its been a few months and I'm sure you've had your first fill.......I was banded on 11/18/09 and had my first fill on 1/6/10, haven't noticed a change as of yet. I have been up and down between 15-20lbs since the surgery though. When I look in the mirror I look smaller, they say you loose inches before pounds, I also know that I need to get in the gym and start working out.

How sucessful have you been and what is your secret that you might share?????

  7. You look great!! I was banded on 11/18/09 and so far am fluxuating between a 15-20lbs loss. Mind you I haven't been working out like I should but I still thought this would happen faster. Any suggestions? I would LOVE to be down 70lbs in 6 months, by summer!!!

I just had my first fill on 1/6/10 and haven't noticed any changes. I still eat the same amount of food, although I'm sure that if I slowed down more it might help.

What can you tell me made you so sucessful?

So you have had 3 fills now and are really restricted to your amount of food? I'm concerned because I've only had 1 fill and there are times when I can eat a lot! Well, what seems like a lot anyway. At least by what I've been told it seems like more than what I should be able to eat. But from what you experienced it wasn't until your third fill where you really noticed anything? I'm also thinking I might be eating too fast....I'm sure that could be part of it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    First fill --- no change?????

Has anyone had their first fill and not noticed anything change? I saw the doctor on 1/6/10 and had just over 4ml filled and I haven't noticed a change with my eating habits. Still eating the same amount of food as before. Someone tell me they have noticed this too! What do I do now?

  11. Yes, I have to agree that I burp like crazy, all day long. Regardless if I have just eaten my meal or when I drink my Water. Before banding I would only burp if I was drinking a carbonated drink, now it doesn't matter. I mentioned this to my doctor and he said its caused by swalling air while you are drinking/eating. I was banded on 11/18/09 and just received my first fill on Wed., 1/6/10 All I can hope for is that I learn to eat slower and take smaller sips. I've been told that it will help.
  12. Hey there! You don't have anything to worry about. I started with a BMI of 52. and now am at 49.5 since my band day of 11/15/09. Just follow the liquid diet and what ever your doctor instructs you to do. I just had my first fill yesterday and am doing great. I will start the gym Saturday to bump things up a bit. I haven't had any issues eating anything and yes, I have cheated a bit. Some chocolate here and there, ice cream one night (half scoop though). I also eat a scrambled egg sooner than I was supposed to but you have to remember to chew everything really good. Don't stress over the diet and it will come naturally. Best of luck!
  13. 17 lbs!? That's awesome, congrats! I try to make it to the gym for cardio at least 6 times a week but that doesn't always happen. When I do go, I usually walk/run on the treadmill or do the eliptical. I've had three fills and have had no complications whatsoever! It's the best thing I've ever done for myself! :)

  14. You look great!! My surgery date was on 11/18/09 and I'm done 17lbs as of today. What if any excerise have you taken up since the surgery? Since your fill have you had any complications? My first fill will be on 1/6/10 and just looking to see if there's anything to prepare for.
