SF Bay Area? Palo Alto Medical Foundation?
Bandketeers, we've slacked! How is everyone doing? I was the same weight for about three weeks -- 224-225, somewhere in there. I upped my exercise this past week (joined a gym so I go there 4 nights a week, run my couch to 5k three times a week, and swimming on the weekends) and it shows. I was at 221.5 this morning! I want to be 219, it's so close. Food-wise I haven't been as diligent; I'm definitely due for a fill, but it isn't until Jan 23rd. I feel more restricted after I exercise, which is good because I do it right after work and before dinner so when I get home I eat less. I'm definitely a nighttime eater, so the more I can curb that the better. How is everyone else doing?

November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)
It'll be two months to the day before my first fill. I ca eat pretty much anything I want right now, including bread and rice. My hunger from before has returned, so I really can't wait to get my fill and get some sort of restriction back. Other than that, I've been doing really good about going to the gym on the weekdays and swimming on the weekend. My gym is about a half hour drive from my house (but 5 minutes from work) so I don't go on the weekends. Luckily my mom's apartment complex has a swimming pool so I can get some laps in.

Odjii, just keep it up. Not everybody is the same, it just sucks not to lose as much weight as you feel you should be. I've been 224-5 for the past two weeks...but I know why. I've upped my exercise and lowered my calories and started paying more attention to my food ever since New Year's (hah, like half the rest of America) and I'm expecting to see results soon. HappyHome, I'm so scared for the first time I PB! It hasn't happened yet on times when I think it probably should happen...so I'm waiting. It's lurking... Maybe because I haven't had a fill yet? So I have barely any restriction. I find I have a bit more restriction after I work out. Does anyone have this?

Pre-New Year's Resolution...No Holiday Weight!
Let me lose down to my first goal then I'll set a new one for June 1st... but it will probably be around 40 pounds.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
Well, Week 1 is now complete! I ran all three days (last Wednesday, Saturday, and Monday), but I think I'll do an extra day of week 1. Day 1 was super slow jogging after the first two jogs, day 2 was super slow jogging after the first three, and day 3 I was able to jog at a good pace for all of the jogging parts, but I want to master it just a bit more before I go on to week 2. Luckily I have awesome mixes to listen to because I made them myself, and the music I picked is motivating to me! Also, my roommate runs with me, which can get a little frustrating because she is very athletic and gets ahead of me at the running parts, but she always comes back to walk with me. I try to keep up with her for as many of the jogs as I can, but to also consider my own pace.

Laptop lunches, those look great! I made a sort of bento today... it's all in one little tupperware, but I used a cupcake liner to hold hummus and two small cubes of cheese, a midget pickle, and a sugar- and flour-free pumpkin cookie. I also brought a mango to chop up and share at lunchtime. I found a gym by my work that is only $10/month and has cardio machines up the wazoo, as well as many weight machines! I'm excited to go sign up today after work. I used to belong to the Y when I was younger (16 or so...6 years ago!) but this will be my first "real" gym experience.

Pre-New Year's Resolution...No Holiday Weight!
We all got close, and we're all going to eventually achieve our goals, so I think this was just in good fun! I have my first fill on January 23rd (and I've been pretty stagnant at my current weight of 224). I've also upped my exercise so hopefully that will get me going again. I want to be 216 to reach my goal soon!

Now I just need motivation to pack some bentos... You know what is tasty? LF chive cottage cheese with a little salsa mixed in. Mmm. 90 calories, 13 grams of Protein for the cottage cheese 1/2 cup!

Pre-New Year's Resolution...No Holiday Weight!
I gained 3...but I think that's partially because I moved from mushies to solid foods. I have 9 left until I reach my goal... well, even if it doesn't come by New Year's, that's fine, because I know it will be gone eventually

Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container. (I took that from the wikipedia page). Basically it's a cute lunch that is fun to make and is based on smaller sized portions of different things, which keeps the variety up. Traditionally a bento box is 4 parts grain, 3 parts protein, 2 parts fruit or veggie, and 1 part pickled veggie. For our diets I think it'd be best to stick to 3 parts protein, 2 parts veggie, and 1 part fruit. Here are some pictures: mice on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I think it would be something fun to do one or two days a week, just to have a pretty lunch

Holiday slip ups...eating all the delicious foods (even if they were small bites). I eed to really work on not overeating and eating Protein first. I think I just need to pack my own lunches instead of foraging through the fridge at work for something to munch on. Has anyone ever made a bento box? That would be a good way to get a small serving of lots of things, and a variety to keep it interesting.

I weigh 222 as of this morning... so 14 pounds out of 20! 6 to go... eee. Only a few days left, I don't think I'll quite make it, but maybe I will by next Monday.

Your walking blog reminds me of one of my friends from college, Melodie (by the way I love that name!). He would just go out walking on the weekends, and we wouldn't see him for hours at a time because he was off on a walk.

Hah, I was banded 11-27 and my first fill isn't until January 23rd! I would've had it two weeks earlier, but I need to go down on a weekend to get mine done because of work so I decided to wait until they do the weekend where the doctor's van will pick me up from the airport. That way I don't have to drive the 10+ hours allll the way down there, then back home too. Plus, I'll be able to fit better into the airplane seats! I never was too fat to go on an airplane, but it was getting to be borderline and that I'd want to sit next to my skinny friend so that there would be plenty of room. Aaaanyways, my 10 days of full liquids flew by without a hitch! I'm on to mushies tomorrow What should I blend up?

30 in a week would be dangerous, so hopefully they'll let you restructure. Or, you could cut your losses?

Pre-New Year's Resolution...No Holiday Weight!
(9/20) down. I was stuck at the same weight for about 5 or 6 days, but finally I moved some this morning!

I can't wait to go to mushies. Two and a half more days! I think I'll have beans first. I used to hate beans...but I find they are something I like to eat from time to time now. I also want to blend a bunch of different things. Full liquids (10 days) is actually going by pretty swiftly. I'm supposed to have four meals a day, but I make my protein shake with water (not milk) so that is my long "breakfast" throughout the morning, also to get some water in me. Is this a bad idea? Should I mix a small protein shake and attempt to drink it in a shorter amount of time, then sip water?

I'm drinking my protein shake out of a red cup this morning...and it made me think of beer. Haha. I think that will be a trick I use at parties...I'll just put something good for me in a red cup and drink out of that! No one will know the difference.

Couch to 5k.....come join me!!
I tried this back in September before I had surgery, and my roommate and I got to week 3 before we "had no time". I can't wait until my doctor clears me for real exercise so I can start this up again. My legs are gonna be really flabby unless I do something to tone them up, and I think this may be just the thing to start with.
