This is my favorite thread based on the level of intelligence and terrifically variant opinions but it was getting too heated so I diverted the topic. You don't have to be here if it's upsetting.

For the record, I also take issue to people like Eminem who try to act like something they aren't. People keep asking what white vs. black sounds like even though we all know exactly what the person who wrote that means. Some black people have a distinct way of speeking that you can hear over the phone or on the radio but it's certainly not the sound of a color! My next door neighbors are black as coal, but their children are on the honor roll and they make us look like white trash next to their immaculate home and educated speech. They're better groomed than I'll ever be, and I sound like a moron mumbling with words like uhhuh, gotta, spoze to, shoulda, etc.

Even the radio personalies tried talking the woman out of voting, then other callers tried talking her out of voting. Soon calls were flooding in with people defending the woman who also plan to vote for the first time to support Oprah. SUPPORT OPRAH? Call me a racist, I don't really care because this is sick, and it's even sicker that people are defending Oprah. We're talking about someone running our country here, and that job shouldn't be based on celebrity votes!

Skyblu, I don't think the thread is racist but perhaps some of what's being said in response? It's about pretending to be something you're not, whether white or black. Regardless of skin color, Oprah's voice and mannerisms change depending on the color of people SHE is around. I'm not making a racist statent but rather pointing out how Oprah herself is playing her Race card to gain political momentum. Saying she's pumping up Obama just because he's black would be the stame if she was pumping up Hilary just because Hilary is a woman. This wasn't started as a racist thread but maybe some of the comments are.

Oh my gosh, this thread is exhausting, in a really good way! I'm seriously blown away by the level of intelligence here. Nearly every post changes my mind, then the next changes it back. You can try to back peddle again but it's useless because you've made it a point to publicly humiliate yourself, and it appears you're even starting to scare your friends away. Maybe you were a bubble butt but now you're just a plain big ass.

Both; my original thread was indeed serious but I also appreciate a controversial thread. I do not deny there's a God, but I can't bring myself to buy into Man's interpretation. I like seeing people's passion and reading conflicting views to paint a better picture. I don't enjoy being indecisive at all! Others who were born with this fickle, analytical mind will understand how difficult it can be getting a good night's sleep, because this is just one of the concerns that often flies through my mind at 3:00 a.m. I pray, just not the way most people do. I pray for God's will for me, not what I think I want. To me, God is a place in my heart, not in a book.

The skeptical side.

Perhaps my favorite hypocrisy is getting on your knees to pray to cement statues and wooden crosses while wringing glass rosary beads in your hands while the 2nd Commandment prohibits the construction or fashioning of "idols" in the likeness of created things (beasts, fish, birds, people) and worshiping them.

I started this thread to incite intellectual, stimulating debate. While I wish some would go play in another sandbox, many of you are brilliant. While I'd like to reply to each entry, this is one debate I'm really enjoying from the sidelines!</p>

I refused to see the exhibit for a long time since I don't do very well around hospitals. I finally gave in with one eye closed, and it's not bad at all if gore bothers you. It's actually so easy-on-the eye that it's hard to believe they were once alive. Very interesting, for sure. None of them were Banded; yes, I checked!

My writing very, very clearly indicates I referred to "ANOTHER ENTIRELY UNRELATED TOPIC" that you hens don't grasp. By my reference to her muliple personalities (she claims she started my Atheist thread, hello?) you manage to concoct that I'm accusing her of mulitple screen names? I'm the one being accused of being the same person as Lizrbeth. Step away from the crack pipe and learn to read. I appreciate the moderator stepping in but maybe they should check on this "Lizrbeth" person and see if she's being harrassed as well. These children are starting ignorant and innacurate rumors based on anything Wasabubblebutt posts and it doesn't seem fair for Lizrbeth, me or any other person to watch shit slung across the Internet that isn't true.

I'll proudly go where others won't by asking if anyone else caught Oprah's political push towards Obama with that ridiculous rise & fall (using Marthin Luther King's famous voice inflection as in his, I've Got A Dream?) Why does that woman switch personalities like a chameleon depending on her audience? On her show she sounds white, yet when she's supporting a black president to her black audience she sounds like a Louisiana preacher? No, this isn't a racist statement, it's an observation. Word to Oprah: Decide who you are and be proud, not fickle.

Oprah. She plays different rolls & takes on different personalities depending on her audience. Friday she sounded like Oprah, today she sounds like Martin Luther King (in her speech supporting Obama.) I'm not voicing a political opinion here, just that I can't trust her because I don't know who the heck she is.

You should do lots of searches around here since there's quite a variety of polls regarding this subject. Good luck with your decision.

By the way, some of you know an awful lot about multiple screen names. You must be moderators, right? Hackers? A few people claim to know me. I don't think LBT is allowed to give out personal information without a subpoena, so how do members know my personal business?
