  1. Hi Floridays, Thanks for the pics. You do look great! Karen
  2. When I had my surgery done in 2009, my surgeon did not pre-fill the band at surgery. But, when my son had his surgery done, same surgeon, he pre-filled his. I am not sure why he changed his procedure. Karen
  3. That is totally awesome, you are so close, you will do it. Have you posted any before and after pics? Karen
  4. I hit a plateau the 1st 3 months after coming off the liquid diet. Then woosh the weight fell off. You can do it, I see that you have already lost 52 lbs since April when you joined. Best wishes, it will happen. Karen
  5. Good luck, I have never heard of that either. My son-in-law has been denied and the insurance company would not even speak to the surgeon. Best wishes for you, tho'. Karen
  6. Bsalle00, best wishes. even .2cc makes a big difference! I have been there, too! Good luck, Karen
  7. Vstall6046, welcome. If I could have any plastic surgery, it would be a tummy tuck. I don't think I want the pain and expense tho'. It would help my figure a lot. But, I just live with the tummy bulge and bear it. When I want to look my best I use a control panty. I have one of those body slips, but hate it, so don't wear it often. Here in Florida right now, we are experiencing what is know as TS Issac! It is not bad here in Lakeland, which is NE of Tampa by 40 miles. We had a worse storm earlier in the summer, called TS Debbie. The grandkids are out of school in anticipation of a hurricane. The biggest way it effects me is that I can't take my 45-1 hr morning walk. Good thing that I went to my bowling league last night. I am supposed to have a meeting at 10:00, not sure what the weather will be like by then. Well, enough of my ranting. Best wishes to all of us "over the hill" folks. Karen For you who ask, TS=tropical storm!!!
  8. Congrats to all of you, NSV's are the best! Karen
  9. Good for you, keep on and the weight will come off. You have not gained, that is good. best wishes. karen
  10. Yes, that is what productive burp is! When you experience it, you will know! It is basically an action that you can't stop.
  11. I was at my church and there was an anniversary party for our priest. I thought hat I could eat a small piece of beef on a small bun. It came up, and up and up. My son had to drive me home, and after while, I had no where to spit. We had to leave because there were so many people that I could not make my way to the restroom. It was not a pretty site, thank God my son is now a lapbander and is now well aware that when it comes, it comes!!!
  12. I agree with tmf, procrastination is not our best friend. But, best wishes on whatever you decide!Karen
  13. Congrats, welcome to onderland!!Karen
  14. Not me, but since you asked, I think probably swollen for the fill. My surgeon's office suggests 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after a fill. Its a little stick, but at least try liquids today to see if that helps. If not, maybe go back Monday for a slight unfill. Karen
  15. My surgeon, also, takes that precaution. I heard him tell a teacher to come in for an unfill if she contracted the stomach virus going around school. Best wishes, and hope you feel better, soon. Karen
  16. Ladycrafter, so glad you are doing well. Sometimes the fills are too much! Karen
  17. I can't eat steak, my surgeon says not of any kind. Too hard to chew up. I can eat chicken thighs and breast meat if there's sauce with it. I can't eat much raw food. Iceberg lettuce is a definite nono. Asparagus tips and broccoli crowns are my friends when well done. I have learned to live with my band after almost 3 years. My suggestion is to experiment with foods. Getting stuck is not fun. Like the other person said bread is mostly something I stay away from but I can eat a 1/2 bread stick at a restaurant. best wishes. Karen
  18. Best wishes, all good advice! Don't beat yourself up, tho'. Karen
  19. Great NSV! Best wishes on your future weight losses and NSV'S! I can guarantee there are more to come. Karen
  20. Not sure what to answer you on this. I know that I am too tight at anything above 5.cc. You may be like me on that. My surgeon refuses to make me any tighter because when he does the barium swallow doesn't pass, not even with a water chaser! Best wishes, and as Shiki said, you might have to search for answers in another part of the forum. Karen
  21. Well, everyone is different! My 1st ever case of getting stuck was pizza! It caused me to start sliming and then it wanted to come up. If you can make yourself take tiny bites, stop at 1 small slice, and have crispy crust, you might be bale to eat it after you heal. Right now, you are just in the dreaming about food stage. I watched every commercial on TV and drooled after my surgery. But remember, eating it, may have contributed to your weight problem. Best wishes, Karen
  22. My daughter started having gall bladder problems shortly after the birth of my grandson. If they have not checked you for that, have it checked. But, whatever you do , go back to your lapband surgeon's office for advice and a check up. Bets wishes, Karen
  23. Hugs to you. Your mother did you a terrible disservice. I hope that you can look past that and see the good in you..Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. My daughter and I never saw eye to eye when she was growing up; but I never would have been needlessly cruel. We are now good friends, and we have both had lapband surgery. Karen
