HI Peg, I would like to be your friend. I am 62 years old. I am now 143. My surgeon recommended me to be 150, but I lost some more. I have reached my 100 lbs goal. I hope that we can continue to our goals into maintenance. I found it strange that your surgeon said 120. How short are you? I am 5'3" and he said woman of a certain age show their age too much if they get too small. Karen

I can see that we are a lot alike. But, since I have a dairy"allergy", I now stay away from ice cream. I LOVE some chocolate pudding, tho'. I now have 5 1/2 cc. I can't tell if I have restriction, as I am on liquids for 4 days. Two days are clear, and 2 days full. I hope that I have restriction, as I actually gained at yesterdays appointment. As I said before, I wrestled with 2 lbs up/down for a month. So, I am going to watch real close, and stay away from puddings!

The 6 month diet was good, it starts a person on the right path.

I started my pre-op dieting in April. To date I have lost 46 pounds. I hope to looklike you nest year. Thanks for your updates.

My insurance com would not approve me until I had gone on 6 month diet. They want to see that I have tried to loose weight at least 3 x and can follow diet. I ahd to see a nutritionist and a psychiatrist, too. But finally after 6 month diet, I was approved. It has been 5 weeks since my surgery on 10/30. It is another tool. Just know that the lapband is not a miracle worker. You need to make a commitment, too. You can do it, if you want to. Best wishes. Kll724
