  1. Doctor told me no pasta or bread because they swell when they get wet. I went out on Mushies and ate soup, broiled fish, and mashed potatoes. All of them are soft.
  2. It will get better. I have only lost 36lbs and I am now 270 so I weigh more then you. The blubber still gets in the way but I have more energy. I'm up to 2 times a month now..lol

  4. I was banned on 10/23/09 and have lost 25 lbs since surgery. I don't get my first fill until 12/3/09.
  5. I went back to the gym the week after surgery. I'm just not allowed to do any weights yet. I do the cardio machines. You will want to wait to do any weights or leg pushes. I just got clearance this week to do sit ups. I was banded on 10/3/09.
  6. First congratulations!!! The first few days after surgery you will probably be a little sore. Use your pain medication that's what it's there for. Be sure to walk as much as you can to keep the gas moving through (it's the air that they fill you with). Get a soft pillow to hold on your tummy when you cough. And you might want to get some Gas-X strips. I don't know what type of diet your doctor puts you on. All doctors are different however if you are like mine you will probably be on a liquid diet for a few days. You should be getting 3 Protein shakes a day. Have you bought your protein yet?? sugar free Ice pops are great as well as sugar free Jello.
  7. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'll save you a spot on the bench!!
  8. CONGRATULATIONS!!! The time will be here faster then you can think. I hated the pre-surgical diet too but I made it and so will you.
  9. CONGRATULATIONS!! What you are feeling is normal also. I just wanted to let you know that the band will definitely help you to control your eating. It is a tool but it does take work on your part. It's not a quick fix. Good luck with your surgery.
  10. CONGRATULATIONS!!! We'll save a seat for you on the losers bench. Any questions along the way be sure to ask. Good luck to you.
  11. Whoo Hoo. CONGRATULATIONS!!! And welcome to the losers bench. Take things one day at a time. Don't be afraid to use your pain medication. Walk as much as possible to help with the gas pains. Any questions along the way be sure to ask. You should be feeling better in no time.
  12. You will be so amazed at the results let me tell you. I have lost 36 pounds all together. 25 lbs since surgery. 36 with the pre admission diet. I have much more energy already. Although I have much more to go I think I most of it is confidence that I am actually losing for once and it keeps going instead of coming back. I like myself again.
  13. Get this. You don't have to give up food. This is a lifestyle change. NOT a life change. You can still eat foods that you enjoy. You will just not be able to eat as much as you have before. Enjoy but in moderation. Everyone has these fears. That's why for so many years I let food take over my life. I finally decided to take over food. If you were not nervous or afraid I would say there was something wrong with you. I do wish you luck in your journey. Make the decision for yourself and not for others. Remember there are always 2 sides to a story. And there are always good and bad to a story as well. Ultimately you are the one that creates what goes into that story.
  14. WHooo hooo. CONGRATULATIONS!! Can't wait to hear about your progress. We'll save you a seat on the losers bench. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
  15. CONTRATULATIONS!!! I wish you a speedy recovery and we will be seeing you on the losers bench very soon. By the way I had to stay over night also. It wasn't that bad.
  16. I was a diet pepsi drinker and an avid coffee drinker. Both of which I gave up 2 weeks before my surgery. I just kept telling myself that if I wanted this to work, I would have to give it up. I just found something else that replaced it. I went to Decaf. Iced tea. Now I drink Crystal Light which is awesome. I did go through the detox from the soda and coffee because of the caffeine but it wasn't that bad. I have read that some doctors allow the soda. Mine said no carbonation whatsoever because it will cause problems down the road. You have to find another crutch to take the place of your soda. And if you are serious about the Lap Band journey then you have to make a small sacrifice for a bigger reward. I had my surgery on a Friday and went back to work the following Tuesday. I was very tired but I made it through the day. I have a desk job though. It all depends on what type of job you have. Good luck to you and CONTRATULATIONS on starting your journey soon.
  17. I have been using the Elite Whey Isolate Protein Shakes. Both the Vanilla and the Mocha. And also the Unjury chicken soup flavor and the Unjury Unflavored which I put in Sugar Free Pudding and Jello. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope to see you on the losers bench really soon.
  18. Just so you know, you can do all of that after you get your band but you won't be able to eat or drink as much as you did before. This is a life style change but you don't have to give up living after you get it done. All in Moderation. But enjoy your big meal while you can. And CONGRATULATIONS. You'll be joining us on the losers bench in no time. :tt2:
  19. CONGRATULATIONS on your banding and weightloss. 37lbs is great!! And happy birthday to you. 30 isn't so bad.
  20. I did the fill-ins with yogurt until I was able to move on. If you are feeling the way you are, I would call your doctor before you do anything. Don't move onto full mushies until you have the clearance to do so. If you have unflavored Protein powder you can put that in your SF pudding also, you can also put it in SF Jello. That will give you more protein. Also unjury has a chicken soup flavored protein which is really good. Are you taking 3 Protein drinks a day?
  21. Not for me it's not.
  22. CONGRATULATIONS!! You will be joining us on the losers bench in no time. I wish you a speedy recovery.
  23. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Soon you will be joining us on the loosers bench. I wish you a speedy recovery.
  24. WHoo Hoo another 6lbs. 9 more to go until Turkey Day.
  25. CONGRATULATIONS to you also. And good luck on your surgery Thursday.
