  1. Gas-X strips are good for the gas that you will experience after your surgery. This is from the air that they pump into you during surgery. They disolve on your tongue. Not everyone gets the gas though.

Heating pad is also to help with the gas pains and will help with the discomfort of your incisions after surgery as well.

  2. Hi Brittany,

Yes I saw you were from Little Egg and that's actually why I sent you a friend request. Who did your surgery? I was banded Oct. 23. I'm down 36 lbs. 20 lbs since surgery. The 36 is from the pre surgery diet.

  3. Hi Julian. Well actually the 30 lbs is from post op until now. IT's really 36. I lost 19 lbs from surgery until my first check up on November 2nd. I WISH it was 30 lbs since surgery.

My Dr. was Dr. Reich for Southern Ocean County Bariatrics in Manahawkin. He's also a great doctor as well as his staff.

I am feeling awesome and am really not that hungry. I'm on the mushies right now. How are you feeling?

  4. Wow congratulations. I'm doing great. I go back for hopefully my second fill on Jan 13th. According to my scale I am down about 41lbs since surgery. 51lbs all together. I feel great. You have to put some updated pictures up of yourself too. Keep up the great work.

The support group meeting is on Jan 13th and it's the holiday party.

  5. 34lbs is great. Big word being LOSS. Do not feel discouraged. By any chance do you keep a food log? If not you might want to so that you can see exactly what you are eating.

  6. 71lbs is great. You'll get there. You should be very proud of yourself.

  7. Aww thank you for the nice comment. I feel younger too. :)

  8. Being nervous is normal. After all it is surgery. But I will tell you it will be over before you know it and you will be on the road to recovery and losing weight. It's the best thing you could possibly do for yourself. Good luck to you. If you have any questions along the way please feel free to ask.

  9. Congratulations fellow New Jerseyian. Keep up the great work!!!

  10. Congratulations on your surgery!! I wish you much success. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

  11. Here to help on your journey!

  12. Hi Im Dawn's husband. Sorry to say she died in the hospital on 08/27/2010. We had a memorial yesterday. Lokked like 200 people. She loved lapband talk.

  13. Hi Jen. I'm from South Jersey. Would love to be your support buddy.

  14. Hi Rosie. 60lbs is GREAT! I have lost 88 since banding, 98 all together. You can't judge your weightloss by someone elses. Any weightloss is great. Its really not about what you eat, but how much you eat. Try keeping your portion sizes to 5-6 oz. Watch the slider snacks if your having any (ice cream, yogurt, chips..etc). And increase your exercise. Also if you are too tight you won't lose any weight also, so pay attention to the redzone. If you are having any night coughs, regergitation, slow weightloss, etc you may need to have some fluid taken out. As for the support group you could always suggest it to your doctors office and start a group yourself. It's not hard starting one. And I'm sure there are plenty of WLS patients that could use the support just as much as you. Good luck to you. Please feel free to ask questions. Keep up the great work.

  15. Hi Tammy it's Dawn. I wasn't sure if you were on here or not. :)

  16. Hi. I'm from NJ also. Banded on Oct. 23rd. I'm from the Jersey Shore. Where abouts in NJ are you from? My names Dawn.

  17. I replied to one of your posts in the forum about the schedule. I hope that it helps. Please feel free to ask any question that you might have. I would be glad to be your lapband buddy.

  18. I would love to help you with any questions that you might have along the way. Feel free to ask away. Good luck to you. When will you be banded?

  19. Just checking in to see how everything is going?

  20. My secret is I eat alot of chicken and fish. I measure everything. I'm not a fanatic in exercise but I try to walk at least 4-5 times a week. Anywhere from 3-5 miles. I use my Wii Fit at home. And I made up my mind that I am going to do this. I think the biggest secret is not to give into head hunger. Plus I reward myself once and awhile. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Diets have always failed me. But once I started losing the weight and seeing the great results, it was just a matter of keeping myself going. And it helps to have good support.

  21. OMG Jen. You Look AWESOME! Keep up the great work. Hope to see you in March at the support group meeting!! You go girl.

  22. Sherrilyn I added you as a friend since you are from NJ. I hope you don't mind?

  23. Thank you so much for your kind words. My secret to weightloss is determination. I also measure everything and I follow my doctors orders. I don't deprive myself of having the good things in life once and awhile. I eat alot of chicken and fish.

  24. Thank you so much. :)

  25. Thank you very much for your kind words.
