Thank you so much for your kind words. My secret to weightloss is determination. I also measure everything and I follow my doctors orders. I don't deprive myself of having the good things in life once and awhile. I eat alot of chicken and fish.

My secret is I eat alot of chicken and fish. I measure everything. I'm not a fanatic in exercise but I try to walk at least 4-5 times a week. Anywhere from 3-5 miles. I use my Wii Fit at home. And I made up my mind that I am going to do this. I think the biggest secret is not to give into head hunger. Plus I reward myself once and awhile. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Diets have always failed me. But once I started losing the weight and seeing the great results, it was just a matter of keeping myself going. And it helps to have good support.

Gas-X strips are good for the gas that you will experience after your surgery. This is from the air that they pump into you during surgery. They disolve on your tongue. Not everyone gets the gas though.
Heating pad is also to help with the gas pains and will help with the discomfort of your incisions after surgery as well.

Hi Rosie. 60lbs is GREAT! I have lost 88 since banding, 98 all together. You can't judge your weightloss by someone elses. Any weightloss is great. Its really not about what you eat, but how much you eat. Try keeping your portion sizes to 5-6 oz. Watch the slider snacks if your having any (ice cream, yogurt, chips..etc). And increase your exercise. Also if you are too tight you won't lose any weight also, so pay attention to the redzone. If you are having any night coughs, regergitation, slow weightloss, etc you may need to have some fluid taken out. As for the support group you could always suggest it to your doctors office and start a group yourself. It's not hard starting one. And I'm sure there are plenty of WLS patients that could use the support just as much as you. Good luck to you. Please feel free to ask questions. Keep up the great work.

We are all nervous about our first fill. It's normal. But honestly it's really nothing. Your doctor may or may not give you a little numbing solution for your skin before he puts the needle in your port, however if he doesn't it's only a tiny needle and it never does hurt me. Usually the first fill they do under Fluoroscope. The only bad thing about that is the taste of the barium swallow again.. YUCK. Otherwise you will be fine. Good luck to you.

Being nervous is normal. After all it is surgery. But I will tell you it will be over before you know it and you will be on the road to recovery and losing weight. It's the best thing you could possibly do for yourself. Good luck to you. If you have any questions along the way please feel free to ask.
