    Cincy weight loss center

VickiW, Congratulations to you also! I think the things that are working the best for me is that I am diligent about getting my fills as needed, I stay away from starchy carbs as much as possible and I try very, very hard not to graize. I was definitely a volume eater before my surgery, so now that I am getting full on 1/3 that I use to eat, the weight loss seems almost effortless. My band is my absolute very best friend!!! I always try to keep in mind that it is a tool, but it is definitely a top of the line heck of a tool that works very, very well! I hope this helps. You keep up the good work also. 71 pounds is awesome! If your sugery was about 36 weeks ago, then you have definitely lost the 1-2 pound average. I hope I continue to do this well, but I anticipate that I will wear a swim suit this summer and feel pretty darn good in it too!!!

Ohio Bandsters - who was your surgeon?

Hello Everyone!!! I had my band placed in August of 2006 and I want to shout to the world what wonderful changes that it has brought into my life!!!! I have lost 40 pounds so far and I am over half way to my goal! I feel like a million bucks and I have Cincinnati Weight Loss Center to thank for it! Dr. Osborne is the surgeon that placed my band, however, I have met Dr. Mobley and have absolutely wonderful things to say about them both. As someone else mentioned, Dr. Mobley has the band himself and he just oozes with passion about his beloved band. He has been there and understands how hard the struggle with obesity really is!! If anyone is even remotely considering having lap-band surgery, I highly reccomend that they indeed go to Cincinnati Weight Loss Center as I did. They have wonderful support groups that are full of information and keys to success. Cincinnati Weight Loss Center has the answer for obesity! Halleluiah!! :clap2: I hope that people can see that before they waste anymore of their life wishing it away!!! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________ banded 8/23/06 199/159:clap2: /125

    ABC ~ October Chat

Hello Everyone! So sorry I've been gone for so long, but I have had so many wonderful things going on that I am anxious to share with all of you. I am a Registered Nurse and a few weeks after my band was placed, the doctor's office that my placed my band called me and asked me if I might be interested in coming to work for them!! So, now I am working at their office doing fills, consults, seminars etc. I am sooooo happy. I love being able to integrate something that is such an important part of my life (the band) with my work also. It is important to the doctors that their nurse be able to give their patients more than just factual info They want to give their patients actual first hand experience too! I can understand that totally. This job fits my personality so well because I am so happy with the band that I just can't say enough good things about it. Plus, I am losing weight in the process! I am such a lucky girl!!! Hope everyone is doing well also!
  10. I don't think that I have one, but I just want to know if anybody can tell me what it would feel like. I am not vomiting. I am just worried and want to know if I will know. From what I read, there is usually vomiting involved, but is there always vomiting? Is there any other symptoms? Again, I am just very worried about it slipping. I paid for my surgury myself and I am paranoid that my band might slip and have to be fixed. I would just die, because I can't afford to fix it too! It would make me feel so much better if you guys could let me know. I know there are some members that have had to have their bands replaced due to slippage, I would love to hear what you all experienced. Thank you so very much, Kristina

    PacifiCare Sucks!

L8BloomR- My surgury was 8/23/06. I am still doing well, but still worrying. I can't wait till we are senior memebers too and skinny senior members at that!!!

    PacifiCare Sucks!

I think Funny Duddies is right, I think the insurance companies do that because they have to pay for less surguries this way. A lot of people aren't willing to wait and go through all of that first. Like you said too, what happens if you do lose some weight, then they probably wouldn't let you have it done anyway and you might gain it back after you go off of their supervised diets. I didn't ask about the complications. I only thought of that deeply, after I had the surgury which wasn't exactly smart of me. Unlkie your situation, my process happened very quickly..... I am sure this is because I paid for it myself. I didn't have to see a psychologist, nutritionist, etc. That is something that the insurance companies require but not the surgeon. In fact I got financing one week and was banded the next. I have been very worried lately about complications though. I planned to ask my surgeon on my post op visit on Wednesday. Everything seems to be fine, but I had posted the other day wondering if my band does slip, would I know it??? I have been extra worried about that and having a leaky port etc., because I paid for it myself. I can't afford for them to go back in again. I will let you know what I find out.

    PacifiCare Sucks!

I have just been recently been banded and I did pay for it myself. Capital One and Wells Fargo do Health Care Financing. I went through Capital One. My employer plan thru the insurance company does not cover any bariatric surgury either, no questions. I don't think I will ever be sorry that I finance it though. I should be getting a big break on my taxes next year because of it. If you have healthcare costs greater than 7.5% of your gross adjusted income, you get to take a couple of thousand off your taxes. Just something to consider. Good Luck!

Is There A Miracle Drink Anyone????

I saw the isopure at the GNC store and I almost got that, but I was concerned about having too much protein??? Isn't too much bad on your kidneys? I don't know really how much is too much, but if I was thinking if I drink it a couple of times a day, it might be too much protein? Is the carnation and boost bad for sugar and carbs? Thank you so much for all of your replies. I am so thankful to have people who know what I am going through to turn to with my questions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
