  1. Happy 37th Birthday 12rcanaday!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary 12rcanaday!

  3. Thanks for taking the time to share with me what you do. It's always nice to know, since I am so new at this. I do the lean cusine usually for lunch -afternoon. I always cook a nice healthy dinner. Tonight I made Halibut and asparagus. I appreciate the tips! Keep us the great work.

  4. I think weight loss really is as simple as calories in versus calories out. The trick is really counting calories (you must be honest here) to find out what you are consuming then cutting back on a daily basis until you reach an amount that causes you to lose weight. For me (I am a 43 year old, 6’ tall male) that number is 1200-1500 calories on non workout days and 1500-1800 calories on workout days. If I stay under that amount, the pounds just melt away. Now that I am below goal, I shoot for about 1500-2000 calories a day to maintain my weight.

  5. I do sort of eat 4 meals a day on workout days. On those days, I eat a Power Bar that has 240 calories before the workout and I have a 100 calorie Protein Shot after the workout. I have not eaten anything like lean cuisine or other “diet” foods since banding. My philosophy is that if I’m only going to eat a small amount, it might as well be full flavored. I eat mostly protein, with a small amount of fat, carb, and vegetable. At the end of the day, I might have some popcorn as a snack food. I try not to drink shakes unless I am in a hurry as they don’t tend to keep me full between meals.

  6. So as far as your portion size. My doctor recommends 4 meals a day. No more then 4 oz - 2 oz meat 2 oz veggie. I am seeming to eat meant more like 4-as 2 not doing great. I was just banded on 10/5-down 25 pounds now. I have my protein shake in a.m.- eat 1/2 lean cuisine at luch the other late afternoon-then dinner. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

  7. You are doing a great job, look at how much you have lost!!!
  8. Thanks for answering. You are right no fill for 4-6 weeks. Forgiving yourself can be hard. I just let the hunger get me. Thanks for the support
  9. Hey guys, I am post op - in pureed stage. I have done pretty good down 18, but tonight I could not resist I was hungry and overdid it. I don't have much restriction but I ate spaghetti 8 bites, 2 bits cottage cheese, some milk and then about 1/4 cup refried Beans w/ cheese and cottage cheese 3 crackers. Can I hurt the effects of my surgery. I did not get sick or vomit. Felt like I have some fullness pressure in chest. Thanks
  10. Hey there: I was hoping maybe I could email or talk w/ someone who has similar weight and get some helpful ideas tips as I was just banded on 10/5 no fill yet-would u be interested in conferring and helping me w/ some general questions?

Thanks for the reply. I went and saw me Dr., yesterday and he said I am doing great. He said right now, after surgery - my body sort of thinks I went an an Island and I am starving so holding to weight. He said that will change. I too am looking forward to my band fill in a few weeks. Thanks ladies

Since your operation had u lost much weight? I had my band done on 10/5 and first week I lost 18 but since last week only lost 2 lbs, and feeling stuck already-find it hard to believe w/ eating this little I am not peeling off the pounds. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
