    TLBC Holiday Open House

Loriely, I am going to the Bash as well. It sounds like it's going to be a fun weekend. I hope we can meet and chat in person. BrightFuture

    TLBC Holiday Open House

It was nice. I would say there was about 50 people there at any given time, including all the TLBC employees. They set up a wine station in the reception area and there was a punch table outside of the conference room. All of the appetizers were set up in the conference room. They had a really good selection of appis: cheese & crackers, veggie tray, sushi, meat skewers, chocolate & nuts and wrapped sandwiches. Most people sat in small groups in the conference room and talked. There were also some people sitiing in the reception area and standing in the hall. The best part of the whole night was being able to meet and talk to other bandsters at every stage of banding. The wine and food was just icing on the cake. There was a professional photographer taking pictures of everyone, (he seemed professional because of his big camera), so maybe TLBC will post the pics on their website. BrightFuture

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

Thanks! I feel the need to mention that I'm a super-sized bandster (starting BMI of over 60) becuase I've heard that weight comes off a little quicker for us in the beginning. But, alas, the 38 pounds is just beginning of a very long journey for me. I'm hoping to lose an additional 160 pounds. BrightFuture

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

Thanks Yoda. I forgot about the stats...I live downtown Toronto and work as a Research Analyst at a tv station. I'm single, never been married and no kids. I live alone; not even a goldfish to speak of. I like long walks by the beach and candle lit dinners. BrightFuture

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

Well, I was planning on staying in the shadows for a while longer, but I guess now is as good a time as any to say hi. (Cloe: I'm just going to borrow your thread for a minute because I'm not brave enough to start my own yet) I was banded at tlbc on Sept 14 and am down 38 pounds already (including pre-op diet) Yey me! The boys are already taking notice of me! Today a homeless boy offered to make me dinner at my place if I gave him some change. I declined. I've been reading your posts (Canada Local Lap-band) for about 2 months now and I think you guys are just hilarious. You guys have been a great source of support for me even though you didn't know it. You have influenced me so much that I'm going to buy a crock pot this weekend...and I hate to cook. I just can't resist those recipes though. Anyway, that's about it for me. BrightFuture

    Start of Process

August 23, 2006 Had my consultation with at lap-band clinic on Friday, August 18 and after many questions and concerns were answered, I booked surgery for Sept 14. Becuase my surgery was less than a month away, I had to do pre-op tests the next day. Did blood and ECG tests (chest xray was already done). Started my pre-op diet of yogurt and cottage cheese today. I'm restricted to these two foods for the next three weeks so that my liver shrinks and makes it easier for the docs to operate. I'm glad that there wasn't much time between 1st consultation and pre-op diet becuase I took every opportunity to eat bad foods in those four days knowing that I wasn't going to be able to eat food like that for a long time. I can already tell that this is going to be a long three weeks...but well worth it.:clap2: Larissa
