    Tummy tuck

Just to chime in, I think everyone is different postop just like all other surgeries. For me I didnt get a pain pump my first tt, had a drain for 2 days, was back at work day 4 post op (i'm a teacher), got a binding at the hos but switched to another kind when I left, lipo on my stomach by my request, stayed one night, gyming after 2 weeks I think, didnt unfill my band, had my port moved, and so on I had the incision extended 2ce because I didnt like the results and I am happy with it now. A tummy tuck is so much less pain then the band surgery and breast augmentation. That's if your muscles arent touched

    Post Tummy tuck ????

My incision site along my hips still hurts and I had surgery in March! You're not alone. I find the longer I am still ie sitting the more it hurts.

    can u see your port?

My port mega stuck out. I had it moved under my muscle and now my doc even has trouble finding it....

    cake? cupcakes?

It depends on your fill level as well. If you are newly banded and not at your sweet spot you will probably be fine. Like others said small bites. The more incing the better as it is easier for things to go down. Cupcakes are hard to eat in small bites so you might have some in your mouth for a while. I am at my sweet spot and can eat anything but I know how to work with my band. Bread can get stuck if I dont eat it right but we have learned how to manage together. However with all the effort it takes to eat these foods that are not so good, it doesnt seem worth it to me.
  5. I didnt get my first fill till 7 weeks post op but that is because I am afraid of needles. My doc tried to fill me at 4 weeks and I refused made an appointment for week 6 canceled and went in week 7. However I have a few friends banded by the same doc that goes their first fills week 2 post op week 3 or week 4 post op. It all depends on how your weight loss is going ( or it should be). If you are losing weight you dont need a fill and remember the band is not going to be successful alone you must eat right and go gyming and such. Work as a team remember
  6. A doctor just let the balloon go through someones system? My god its a simply surgery to remove it! Knock the person out and stuck something in his stomach to take it out.... it is not meant to pass through your system!
  7. I have always had a lowish BMI ( never got over 37) and would never do a surgery that would cut away at an organ so the band was my only choice, I never considered anything else.
  8. Sushi and rice are two things that are not the same for everyone. If the band prevented people from ever having rice again, Koreans would freak out. However many Koreans and Asians are getting banded ( we eat rice 3 times a day here) and can still eat rice ( and sushi, kimbops etc). It's not that I can't eat things post op, but rather I can't eat big portions or each them really fast. Things that are a challenge for me are meat that is not moist ( if the chicken has lots of sauce i can eat it) octopus ( hard to chew into small pieces so it normally gets stuck unless I cut it small) shrimp ( I still eat it but must cut it reallly small before hand or chew way too much) rice bagels ( yes they make them in Korea because Koreans dont see something being a meal unless there is rice involved) Basically, I am living the 6 month clothing rule with food. If I haven't eaten it ( worn it in clothing talk) then clearly I dont need it ( meaning I shouldnt bother having it ever again, just get rid of that food option)

2.5 weeks out and no energy

I was so tired and drained up until 1 month post op. I usually walk to and from work but my co worker started driving me home I was so tired I could barely move. I still tried gyming and it was so hard. I had to up my Protein and take more b Vitamins for it to help.

    Vacation unfill???

I have only gotten an unfill before a vacation once and that was because I was overfilled. If you are at a really sweet spot and have trouble pbing sometimes I would maybe consider a small unfill ( if on a cruise, it's not like there is a band doctor on board), but not if i can handle eating and being normal, I wouldn't do it. That is risking the chance of gaining weight. No thanks!

    long time lapbanders input requested

Depending on my fill it depends on how much I pb. Right now I pb maybe once a week/2 weeks, unless I eat too close to bed time then I wake up pbing food hours after I ate. I am a little over filled right now though. At a good fill now that I am 2 years out, I usually only pb if I eat too fast which is very uncommon. I have learned what foods to avoid to prevent for sure.
  12. I find post op any surgery that if I am at a really good/a little over filled post op I can barely take in liquids for 2 days and then I am fine. So if you are a little worried or dont want to be in that situation, then I would get a slight unfill even .2cc makes a huge difference. My doc was supposed to do an unfill after he knocked me out when I got my boobs done and he forgot so I just had to do 2 days hot liquids and Soups and now I am ok.
  13. Hey! I just a lift and implants October 1st! First of all where is your incision? Did you go over the muscle or under? What kind of bra are you wearing post op? Have you heard of moob or morning boob? So for the first few weeks or a a month or so after surgery many people get something called a morning boob. It is often described as something similar to a guys wood. Your boobs are harder in the morning from being so still all night ( and your muscles). This will eventually go away but is a pain in the ass (err umm chest) at first. Massaging in the morning can help. I would love to sleep on my side ( I actually always wake up on my side whoops), but right now your implants are still adjusting to their pockets, so I wouldnt recommend sleeping on your side until your doctor ok's it or atleast 6 weeks (or when your allowed to wear a wire bra) My boobs are itchy because I had a bad reaction to the bandages, it actually left a bad rash so I cover them with gauze but no bandages. Anyways I use vasalin where the rash is and neosporn where the incision is every other day( all ok'ed by my doc). I clean the incision with alcohol every day after my shower ( which I wash the incision with dial soap). Once my incision has healed ( its about 50% healed I can already barely see the scar, btw I had an areola incision) I will just use a scar cream. I will look at the same tonight but I am not sure if it is a western brand or american. Your doctor could probablly recommend something. A lot of people like to use the silicone bandaid things as well for scars. If you havent already you should join justbreastimplants.com/forum. It is full of info for things like this!
  14. I had a mini tummy tuck that was then extended and I think in total my doc cut off 3.5 lbs or something around there. Don't expect your scale to change much though. Even after a year of some lipo and a tummy tuck I maintained my weight at 150 though my body changed so much!

    Banded in october--updates please

I have been rebanded ( july 2010) and lost a little weight until October 2010 where I have maintained at 150. My ultimate goal is 140 but I don`t see me getting there any time soon. I got a tummy tuck October 2010 ( with some revisions) and just got new boobs Oct 1 2011. still loving the band and how it changed my life
  16. frozen yogurt, cream soups ( some docs allow it as a liquid), protein shakes, cup-a-soups
  17. You might be taking in too much air when eating and drinking. Try smaller sips and smaller bites. When I get a good fill I sometimes get more burpy and stuff because I forget to slow the heck down.

    I am a lying liar

I am the same way not telling anyone, but when I had lunch with my friend once who didn't like her weight and wanted to know how I lost my weight I just came clean. Clearly it was a good idea because a year later she got the band by my doctor and is doing great. I would be a little more reluctant to tell someone I didnt know about my surgery but if someone mentioned they wanted to lose weight and were considering a surgery I would for sure tell them. Maybe if you talk more to these women and and if you comfortable then you can tell them but I would have not told them if I was in that situation.
  19. AlienBandit

    should he do it?

Through all the bumps in my road, I say that I have had success with the band. Though I would like to lose 10 more lbs I am still a healthy BMI and been a stable weight for a year.
  20. Since I have been banded for a while now, I always notice how much more people eat and how much faster. I go for indian a lot with my friends and I always get just once dish. Well I have a friend whom I often go with who loves going with me because I always leave food left over but he also order one order of naan, rice, 2 curries and chicken as well. His meal is always +$30 while I pay $8. It is crazy too because he will be full but refuses to leave until all the food is gone. That is so backwards for us! Here is a post I wrote about another experience I had out with a friend http://alienbanditinkorea.wordpress.com/2009/12/20/one-big-mac-meal-for-every-2-chicken-nuggets/

  22. My port is under my muscle on my left side beside my belly button. My doc even has some trouble sometimes trying to find it but I love that I can't see it because it used to stick out before we moved it. When I had my tt it was moved.

    What about your bras?

When my boobs really started dropping in size, I had a problem finding new bras because here there are only a and b cups. Until I fit into a b cup I would get padding thus to fill my old bras without needing to buy new bras right away. I didnt buy my first new bra till I was down 50 lbs and was a big b small c down from the d kind of dd I was when I started.
