:update: Socalgal! Congrats, wow that is great news. I agree it is refreshing to hear about a joy like this to remind us why we really got the lap band. I have some news of my own to share. I went back to the Dr. today dreading the weigh-in. If you remember I hadn't lost any weight in more than 7 weeks, and I was really down about it. But since my appointment 3 weeks ago, I have lost 3 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooooooo happy! Hopefully I am over my hump and will start losing again. Thanks to all of you for sticking with me. It really is a battle of the mind as well as the body. It was so tempting, in my depressed state, to eat everything. But I am glad that is over. My 6th wedding anniversary is Saturday and now I can happily celebrate with my dh! We are going Christmas shopping and out to dinner. Boy I am relieved. Thanks again ladies! Take care everyone. Big hugs to all my junebies!! :)

Beacheegirl, I am right with you girlfriend! I have been stalled at my current weight for 7 weeks now. But with the support of a few key people I have realized that we cannot give up. It is VERY hard to see everyone else losing around you. But we have to stick together and know that this plateau will not last. Don't get down on yourself. Sometimes our bodies have a hard time letting go of the fat. Stay on your current course. Try to think positively. Measure your inches to make sure you are not losing there instead of the scale. In the beginning that was happening to me. But now I can't go anywhere it seems, pounds or inches. I have ordered 3 new dance videos to help me get excited about working out, and maybe I will do more of it if I think it is fun. I have been walking on my treadmill, but I think I need to get off of that and move my whole body. Don't be sad, we all have our days of frustration, but this too shall pass. We are all here for you, in the same boat, and none of us (without surgery) can abandon ship. Let us know how you are doing, and take care.

Well I am reading all these posts and I am so sorry for all of you having terrible pb's. Pinkylee, you threw up for an hour? Oh my goodness, that is not good. I am lucky to say that I am being extremely careful and (knock wood) haven't had a pb in a while. BUT all of you seem to be losing, and I am not. I haven't moved the scale in 7 weeks or so. Maybe we are all thinking about it too much. Barbara, you went away and had a great time, I am sure you were too busy to think about the band as much- and you lost 8 amazing pounds!!!!!!!!!! I do think that stress plays a big part in how tight we are. I have a "friend" who knows I am banded and every time we eat together she watches me like a hawk to see how much I will eat ( because she didn't approve of the surgery and is very critical) and it seems like I always get the golfball because I am so self concious around her. Oh and about the party that I threw, I had my cousins helping me and it made it easier that I could walk and stuff. But I found it is very hard to cut and serve cake to 100 people with one hand. ) Well that is really all I know. I really hope everyone feels better soon. I am going to try not to think about it as much and see if that helps. Don't give up everyone, it will get better. Take care!

Well, I did not have a very good weekend. I had my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party and I was busy and stressed. I know those are no excuses but I gave in. Somebody had a big bag of double stuffed Oreos and I was weak, too weak. They went down so easy and I ate way too many of them. Oreos are the devil. I was so mad at myself. But the good new is that I got cleared for exercise today, so I plan to workout tonight. Hopefully I haven't gained due to the oreo mishap. I have also been slacking on my water since I have been up and around , which is what I thought would happen. I hope to do better on the challenge. the bummer is that I don't have proper scales at home, so I won't know if I have gained until my Dr.'s appointment. Leila, My prayers are with you, good luck with everything. October challenge update week of 10/08/06: Cals under 1200: 6 64 oz.water: 4 Exercise:0

My ankle is still big and swollen, and the cast on my arm won't come off for a few weeks now. I don't have a whole lot of pain but it is no walk in the park, considering I have a 1 year old and a 2 year old to take care of. ( I am a stay at home mom). But since I sit around alot (because of my injuries), it is easy to drink all of my water and 1200 cals. When I get around more I am sure I won't be able to drink all my water since sometimes I just plain forget to drink. I hope everyone is doing well with the challenge. and thanks for caring pinkylee!

well I was all excited about starting the October challenge, but then fate stepped in and not in a good way. Last thursday my dh had the big V, so he couldn't lift anything and was really just resting on the couch with his ice pack. So I had to do everything which included taking out the trash. I had 3 trash bags trying to get it all done at once, and they were blocking my view of the steps. I fell missing all the steps and landing with my ankle cockeyed and my wrist under me. I severely sprained my ankle and broke my wrist. I am out of the exercising loop for at least 2-3 weeks. Why does it seem like these crazy things always happen to me? So I guess I will just have to modify the challenge to suit me. But I have been depressed ever since it happened because I was so looking forward to making a change this month. Ok I am done feeling sorry for myself.
