Surgery scheduled in 9 days on the 20th, don't feel prepared, please help.
Relax. Fill you pain medication prescription in case you need it. Have comfortable pajamas and slippers for the trip to the hospital. Really that's all. Really!! It's outpatient surgery. Meaning that you check in, have the band installed and leave. You'll be walking around right after surgery and totally back to your old self in less than a week. You can do any shopping you need the day after surgery.

drinking while eating
I was told 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after. Later my PA said it was ok to drink right up until I eat. Don't have liquid in front of you while you are eating and you can't drink. It is really that simple.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a diet?
You'll have to. "Anything worth having is worth waiting for" -Johnny Kemp song

i think i officially had my first real PB...yuck!
More importantly; do NOT eat while driving! You have to pay attention to your eating now and you can't do that and pay attention to the road at the same time. But now that you've slimed, isn't it fun. You should see the way it behaves in the toilet. It's like a jellyfish or transparent eel. :cursing:

I remember when the scale wouldn't move out of the 330's; 300's; 250's and it's in the 220's now. I look back and think that was a long time ago but it really wasn't. It was only a couple of months ago. a couple of months from now when you are in the 250's you will look back and think the same.

I'm an idiot. I still don't really mind when it happens except for the dry meat and fish. The painful ones that make you feel like a vampire getting staked.

Can 15 or 17 year olds have lapband surgery?
And she is talking boys. We are far more irresponsible than girls at that age and I'll be the first to admit it.

I got stuck yesterday in a restaurant again. This time it was because I was being polite as usual  Somebody asked me a question while I was eating and to avoid being too rude, I immediately swallowed what I was chewing to reply with an empty mouth. OOPS!! Fortunately, I was almost done eating anyways. Then I sat there making small talk like nothing was wrong as the slime level rose. I excused myself 10 minutes later and booked to the toilet to get rid of the excess. Another 10 minutes of talking outside the restaurant and I walked back to my car to get rid of some more slime in the parking. Twenty minute drive home and I hacked up the piece of chicken that was stuck. I get stuck way too often, at least twice a week and it is ALWAYS out of carelessness. My coworkers are all used to it and think it's funny when I get back from lunch; pull the waste bucket between my legs at my desk and spit slime for 30 minutes.

You're new to it. Soon, you'll be counting to make sure you get enough Protein because you are eating so little. I stopped journalling a month ago. Mostly out of laziness but I am also confident now in how much I'm eating without weighing or recording. Keep up the good work!! Those little bits of weight add up.

LAP BAND success?
In 3 or 4 months time you won't be eating big anything without having to really work at it. You have to practice watching what you eat and not how much you eat. You'll still be able to eat most anything just less of it. This gets tricky because at the same time, you have to make sure and get at least 50 grams of Protein a day.

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Concerned Mom
Marathonman explained it well but in short, your daughter needs a shrink or a therapist. She has to get past having to fill her plate. The band is to prevent you from needing large meals. If she wants to continue eating large meals then she should have the band removed before she hurts herself further.

Did anyone cheat on the pre -op diet
I know but obviously you don't like me and it's gotta burn you up to see how successful someone you dislike is. It gives me that much more motivation.

Wow! Thanks for the support folks! After all, isn't that what we come here for? I have been in cliques before but they were usually called crowds; mobs or gangs. Not that I feel I have to justify myself but I wasn't trying to start trouble.
