A third of the way there!

I should have had my date 2 days ago but my cardiologist left something off of his release. Hopefully that will be cleared up by next week. This morning the scale said 300. Not only do I love round numbers but that means even without the band I have lost 1/3 of the 195 pounds I had to lose. Last week I was having second thoughts but I am gung ho to get my band now and it better keep me from ever seeing 300 again. I am figuring I will be 285-290 by the time I get it and around 265 for my first fill.

If I had a 14 year old, they'd be doing the cooking to earn their keep so when I got home I could eat and relax. Send him/her here: BariatricEating.com Health & Nutrition - Bariatric Recipes Good luck and thanks for the ideas LDS!
  3. Congrats! They are all different. Mine requires 2 weeks of liquids pre-op. I tried to get that shortened because I have lost so much weight already and he wouldn't budge.

Palin joins Fox - right where she belongs!

On television, Fox balances out the liberal bias on MSNBC and CNN making it fair for everyone. I would call that fair and balanced. I get the majority of my news online via Fox. I don't care much for commentaries from any pundit. So, I guess that is why I don't understand the contempt.

    Feeling like a failure

Let me apologize ahead of time because I know this isn't the reply you are looking for. I don't know anything about your doctor except for what you have posted in this article but it sounds like the kind of doctor I'd pay $250 to transfer TO. The truth can hurt sometimes but I need a kick in the ass sometimes to bring me back to reality. What are the condescending comments he is making? Are you doing everything he has asked you to do? What are you looking for in a doctor?

What is it about fair and balanced news that liberals find so atrocious?

Then fill half of your freezer with Lean Cuisine and the other half with Kid Cuisine dinners. You don't have to be a chef to nuke a frozen dinner; it's cheaper than eating out and you can teach the kids to nuke their own at an early age.

    Weighing Yourself?

Do you step on the out edges of the scale because you found that it gives the lower weight?

I'll be the first to admit that I don't respect any religious zealot. I don't care if it is xtian, jew, muslim, or druid. I'd say "other" but I don't want to offend the chick in Florida. The main reason I don't like Palin is because she is a bumbling moron. I hated Ted Kennedy for the same reason and they are on opposite ends of the religious and political spectrum.

If worse comes to worst, fill your freezer with weight watchers and smart ones meals. They take 3.5 minutes from freezer to mouth.

    Weighing Yourself?

Hi, my name is Bob and I am a weighaholic. CROWD: Hi Bob! I try to weigh myself only once a week but I am addicted to stripping down and getting on the DAMN scale every morning. I have been losing a lot of weight but there are mornings in between where I gain 3 or 4 pounds and it spoils my entire day. I know that the next morning it will be 4 or 5 pound lighter but it just doesn't register. Then there are days like today when the scale says, "298.2" and I think about not eating Breakfast or taking my medication until after I go to the bathroom again just because I want to see "297". I came to my senses by reminding myself that this isn't a race and I will probably be less tomorrow or the next day. My nutritionist recommended weighing once a month. That is not going to happen

    Pre-op overeating?///

DO NOT wait until the pre-op diet because most people lose 10+ pounds! I'm willing to bet that most people don't lose 10+ pounds and you only remember the ones that do. You can do this. You don't have to starve yourself and it doesn't have to hurt. Walk for 150 minutes a week. Split it up any way you want. Drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. Do NOT go near any fast food restaurants! Eat breakfast! Cut back on your portions a little. Chew slow and stop eating when you are no longer hungry. You don't get points for clearing your plate. Don't eat too much junk food. A small bag of chips or a cookie here and there won't kill you but remember moderation. Eat only when hungry, not out of habit or boredom. Document everything that passes your gums. You may see that you are eating more than you thought. There are sites for doing this like dailyplate.com. Don't beat yourself up or get depressed because that leads to over-eating for a lot of us. I am not banded yet and have been doing what I just listed and I am dropping 3-5 pounds a week. I am not dieting, I am just eating smarter in preparation for banding.

Why do liberals Hate Sarah Palin?

You don't learn about God. It is brainwashed into your head from a very young age just like Santa Claus. People grow out of Santa Claus. Why don't some people ever smarten up; grow out of God and take responsibility for their own actions?
  14. Are you trying to upload pictures or are they already online somewhere?

    Do you count calories?

You don't have to look on the side of packages to count calories like in the old days. There are websites that you just enter what you ate and it automatically counts the calories.

    Flying and the band

Many people fly back the day after getting banded in Mexico and I haven't heard of any having issues.

    Pre-op overeating?///

That is the practical thing to do. Why pack on extra pounds and keep the bad habits that we are going under the knife to try and lose? It's not like we need to stock up on supplies because we are going on a long trip. This is for the rest of our lives. The rest of our lives starts today, not tomorrow.
  18. Some liberal wrote that piece. Where are the references? And they probably donated the birds to a food bank afterward. I hope pg finds this thread and goes on about hunting zygotes
  19. Wow!!! Congrats is understatement here! Do you still keep in contact with your surgeon and get any kind of maintenance fills here and there?
  20. Nope. Doesn't matter if it were yesterday. The diet has to be supervised by your bariatric surgeon. Meaning he has to check the progress once a month.

    BodyBugg users

I wear it when I sleep half of the time. Sometimes it feels like it is slowing the circulation to my arm to I take it off. It doesn't make that much of a difference while you are sleeping. Just remember to put it back on when you get up. I've had mine for 3 and a half months and have only really recharged it once. I updload my data twice a day and usually leave it plugged into the usb for 4 or 5 minutes after upload and that is enough. If you are counting steps closely, it doesn't seem to count them if you hold onto the treadmill while walking on it. It will tell you that you are eating more than you tell it. Don't worry about this, no machine is ever going to be spot on.
  22. I don't have to worry about that one unless I eat a baby. :smile2:

    Pre-op overeating?///

It's Last Supper Syndrome and it is counter-productive. It is just more weight that you will have to lose when you do get banded. You have to show a little bit of will power once you are banded but there is no need to wait until being banded. As Manda suggested, see a therapist if you can afford and see it they can help. Phil, Throw the gift cards out or donate them to a food bank. Then you won't have to struggle them.

    Easy way out?

Does she drive to work instead of walking? Does she use elevator instead of stairs? Does she get her news on tv, radio or in a paper instead of word of mouth? If she does any of the above she is taking the easy way out. On top of that, even if it is the easy way, it's too F*ing bad! There is nothing wrong with taking the easiest route if it doesn't harm you or anyone else.
