  1. :thumbup:Hey Girl! Don't be discouraged, it is just LIFE happening. You will get through this and God will help you, he is there always. He knows the things that will happen to us before we do. I never did get acid reflux after the surgery, but I sure did before. I have heard others that have had a lot of it afterwards. A friend of mine had pneumonia and was vomitting a lot and that will cause the band to slip or move and may cause surgery so you don't want that! You will overcome this and be strong and get that added weight back off again, I just know it. I will keep you in my daily prayers and want to see you well and in good spirits soon.

Something I want to share with you.

Lord, I trust you. I have said, "You are my God", My life is in your hands. Psalm 31:14-15 NCV

Lord I place my seconds, minutes, hours and days in your hands. God I thank you for restoring my hope for the future and Lord build up my friend today and give her strength for tomorrow and the future. AMEN

  2. :thumbup:HI To get back with you and try to help you on my diet for a typical day, mornings, I have 1/2 scoop "Body Fortress" protein powder with 8 oz skim milk, my vitamin, I check my first morning urine around 7:00 AM to see that I am in Ketosis. Any Ketosis is good, just not negative. Then I weigh myself "in the nude", clothing can vary in weight. I have a couple pcs bacon, and eggbeaters with white cheese.

Lunch, I have Crystal Lite and water. 1 Can of Vienna Sausage, 5 Saltines. (lite lunch, high protein, low carbs)

Night, I have 4-6 oz of Baked Chicken Breast or Fish, with Salad and Ranch Dressing. You could have Romain Lettuce and Ceasar Dressing. (no more that two tblps dressing-Carbs!)

All foods can be purchased at Wal-Mart and Ketone Sticks. If you are not burning Fat, you are burning Carbs, you want to burn Fat, keep with your water, and eat foods that contain no more than 50 carbs a day, and 60 Grams of protein (MIN on Protein, you can have more of Protein)

  3. Good Morning Shonette! It is cold here in Florida! I am so proud of the way you send your grandsons lunch to school! Wow! He will thank you one day! I wish they would bring back the Presidents Physical Fittness program into the schools.

I went for a fill in two days ago, and since then I am down two lbs. Down to 200.8 and so wanting to get under 200! Have not been there in over 15 years! It will be my point to get really excited! I might even SHOUT! LOL

I was only on liquids for 48 hours so I know that got me kick started on losing the weight! I was so hungry at 5:00 yesterday when I got home I just wanted to start grazing on anything! But thank God I had pre-cooked some veggies! I did have an ounce of peanuts! (the oil from them is good for you)

Keep up the good work, and keep in touch! It is 18 degrees this am and I am freezing! Since this weight loss, I have to layer my clothing to keep half way warm!

  4. Hey Allie!

Of course I have a long way yet to go and a lot more weight to lose yet, but I also want to have a tummy tuck, the thighs and underarms, and boob lift. Did you do one thing at the time? And did you do your boobs first or last? You look amazing, just wondering if you could give me some pointers. What size jeans are you wearing now?

  5. Hey Cathy What part of GA are you from? I wish I had a WII I may get one just for exercise too. I paid for a year at the Gym and just need to go, It stormed here today, so I did not get out and it was my day off, but I worked harder than if I'd worked, LOL, I will go tomorrow tho most definately. I used the weight machines for toning and I got a sore Tennis Elbow, so I had to stop that for awhile, it is better now and I do the cardio! It helped me with my toning in the underarms, I do have a little sagging there tho, and in my legs, they are pretty tight for my age. I had four children so I may want a tummy tuck, but we'll see, that would be in a year from now if I do. Walking seems to keep me in the losing weight category.

Reason I asked about GA, I have a house in Eufaula Ala on the AL side of Lake George, GA. Looks like you are doing great.

  6. Hi Babs!

How are you doing now? I hope you are getting off some of your meds. Bio-modification will put you in a mind set to help you get in a happier state of mind and thus we must appreciate even the smallest amount of weight loss. It is as they say --LOST! I actually started excercising this past week and gained a pound! LOL Oh Well there is always next week. High protein curbs appetite and can jump start you again, try that! Later, Good Luck

  7. Hi everyone, Well I have lost 31 lbs on Sept 29, 2009 two months after my surgery. Iwent to a Birthday Luncheon and did not have any of the Italian Creme Cake! So proud of myself! It was fun, and I had soup with Ice Water and Lemon!

Everyone said they could tell I had lost weight, made me feel good. The Birthday Girl had the Gastric Bypass surgery five years ago, she is still happy with her decision and has not gained her weight back. She lost her only son in a car accident about three years ago, and that could have given her every reason to quit trying, she is so strong! After seeing her, I knew that I would make it, and not give up for anything. I want to be strong like her! Keep in touch and good luck on your journey to slim.

  8. Hi Lucky Five,

I am getting my second fill on the 30th of September, this month. I am hoping to get off a few more pounds and lots of inches before Oct. 17th, 2009 which is the date of my Class Reunion (40 Years) I have had the pleasure of getting rid of one huge garbage bag of clothes already, it felt good in a way, and I was scared in another, sure hoping I don't need them back again. But looking at your photo's I know I won't.

  9. Hi msconniemac!

How are you doing? I've had my second fill and had to have a teenie bit pulled back out! It was refluxing into my throat. I feel really tight, even after drinking a protein drink, but not nausea or anything, just full.

I have got more energy and not afraid to increase my calorie intake, I charted the calories I burn each day, and it is more than I am taking in! So I know I am burning some fat. It is showing up on the scales. I painted the outside of a building by myself today! Four hours of painting and still had energy, no headache,it's getting good for me. Hope you're feeling this too. Know what- I'm sleeping better.

My class reunion is in two weeks! I have not seen some of my classmates in 40 years! I only hope I can get in to a size 16W by then! I have to go buy a good looking pair of jeans! Oh I know there will be those size 2's there but I don't care, cause I will be looking good too! Keep up the high protein and hope to hear from you soon!

  10. Hi tedwa3!

I wish you much luck with your upcoming banding! I know you are so excited, you have a beautiful smile! You will really smile when you have the band, you are not hungry at all!!! I never feel that burning feeling like "I'm starving to death!" anymore, and it is easy to control the quanities of food that you will eat, your weight will come off and you will be so happy that you made this decision.

  11. HI Terry,

You know you are right! I enjoyed having you post to my comment! I do not want to get in ill health, the reason I did this was for the betterment of my health, the looks with the weight loss is just a plus! I am sorry to hear about your complications, please keep me posted about what your condition is and how you are handling it, and I will keep you in my prayers.

  12. Hi Vannessa,

Thanks for all your kind words, I am so happy to have you as a friend here on LB. We will stay the course and be victors in the end. I can't wait to see the pics of us all when we reach our goals! Keep in touch and good luck on your journey to be slim!

  13. Our Church took an offering for Haiti last Sunday. I am so hurt for over 200,000 lives are gone. But grateful that they are still rescuing people and lots of children even today! They have a long road ahead of them!

I had my meeting today witht he Allergan Rep and it went well. He is very nice. There may be a new future for me here, so pray for me. Not real sure of myself, and I still feel so fat! I know I look better and I have lost 64 lbs since starting, but I have got to work on changing the way I see Me!

  14. Well thanks for commenting:thumbup: on my post! It went well, I ate a small amount before going to the Dr. and on the drive over it came up, I was so frustrated and then I got on the scales and I was 3 lbs up!! The Dr. came in and we talked, this has gone on since my last fill and got more severe on my cruise! He put me under the exray and saw the swelling around my port and band immediately! The upchucking had caused irritation and swelling causing the band to tighten! So he removed .04ccs and then I had liquids for 48 hours, then I ate and I was so full and the food stayed down! How wonderful, I feel satisfied too.

I did not know it, but with a too tight band, you will NOT lose weight, when you throw up, you eat more to try and get something to go in and it may be all the wrong things!

I am checking out the recipes you have and going to try them now that I can eat again! We do have to learn to live this life after the LAP-BAND?! I am going back to the Gym next week too.

  15. :thumbup:How sweet of you! You had your surgery on my Birthday! How about that? I am so glad that we are doing so Good! I get depressed wanting to have it NOW, but you know what? We did not put it on fast so it will just have to go off slower! I have lost 80 lbs now, and have 23 to go to goal, it had almost stopped but has started again coming off after this last fill, very tight now again and that is good. I think when we have lost this much, our body refuses to drop thinking we will get sick or something, and we have lost a good percentage of the extra body weight too. Thanking God everyday for my band. When I get into a 12 really good and it is loose on my some, I think I will be satisfied! I haven't been in a 10 since High School, and don't want to get so small I look emaciated! Good Luck on these last pounds they are harder to get off! LOL Hey, I have nothing but time, till God calls me home! Happy Easter

  16. (second part)ever had before. I also changed my life spiritually! Walking closer to God than ever before, I have a new clarity. I feel healthier too. I just started to a new Gym in town, I was sore to start, but I am getting use to it. I walked a mile three times a week to build up to the Gym experience. Now I am down 51 lbs.

  17. Alaska was awesome and so breathtakingly beautiful!

  18. And it is for life too, I will always be searching for information, help and support. Even when I reach goal, I will continue to live with the band and need all the support I can get! Being smaller is so wonderful! My husband is satisfied that I have lost all the weight I need to at 64 lbs., But not me! I want that 100 lbs gone, so I will stay here reading being encouraged and helped by others honesty and experience with the band, until I gain the knowledge to live the rest of my life with it. Welcome!

  19. auntiegoo! Hi, well you got your Christmas Present early didn't you? You will feel a good restriction after the first fill, and I was a little nervous, but so ready to get that ball rolling with my first fill. I really started dropping the lbs and was so happy! I have hit a little plateau and keep playing with two or three lbs, but I get a third fill in a week, so it is going DOWN! Keep in touch, this site really helps to keep me and all of us motivated, it is like the life blood!

  20. DeeNicole! You are so welcome, this site keeps me so up and positive, I just love the conversations and the help I get on here! Alex or whoever invented this site is terrific. There is even a Clothes Swap group you can join on here!

  21. Doe's anyone know how to post a photo instead of this question mark? I am learning this site.

  22. Doing great! So nice not to be throwing up everything! I finally feel nourished, now back to the Gym tomorrow! The little bit of unfill I got did the trick, now I need to take off the next 10 lb increment of weight, going to start walking again as well, just miss the exercise, going on Vacation can really get one off track!

  23. Enjoyed reading your response to my post about the Brownie, and OMG it was a cake one too with walnuts, should have chunked it out the window, but I could not. I usually can not tolerate bread, but now problem with that baby! I did real good today, got back on track and going to stay there as long as I can~ I really want that 100 lbs gone! Even tho if I stopped right now, I would be happy with 82 in 8 months! But I am going to press on! Look forward to hearing from you again soon.

  24. five miles is a lot! Makes me tired thinking about it! LOL You are looking great!

  25. Getting in the Christmas Spirit now. I think it is time for a new outfit, maybe some new jeans and and red sweater? Feeling happy about where I am and where I am going. Got to get that last few pounds worked off now before the end of the year.
