It has been almost 5 years since my lapband surgery and it has taken me this long to really figure out a healthy lifestyle.
If you think that the Lap-Band is a magic fix it tool; think again. It takes changing how you look at food and figuring out what in your life leads you to overeat to be able to take the weight off and keep it off. For four years I took off and put on the same 25 pounds. I finally made changes in my personal life that made me see myself and be able to make life changes. Food is fuel to keep your body going. You should enjoy it, but don't let it rule you or comfort you.
I am so happy now, I have become a Zumba instructor, I play sports again, I enjoy green smoothies and crazy healthy foods. Good luck with your journey and know that this isn't an instant fix it. Get right with yourself and use the Lap-Band as a tool, but it is all up to you in the end!
