  5. Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!! Like most of us, you'll do great and then before you know it, you'll be here giving advice to the newbies and comparing loose skin! It's definately an adventure, so girl get up on that horse and go!!!!! Your going to do great!
  6. Same here, I can get down a lot more of mushy stuff verus solid. . I like to take my fish fillets and squish them up then I get down about 6 oz but if i leave it whole i get down 4 oz AND IT'S THE SAME THING!!!!! Funny how the mind works . . . but i truly love mushy stuff way better then solid. . . looks funny when i go out to the restaraunt and start mashing up my food, undoing my enchilades to get to the inside, put the tortilla to the side, etc. . . ugh i'm so weird!
  7. hey that sounds good! I think HEB has the same thing at the deli, but not for sure. . .I'll get me some next time I'm shopping!
  8. Totally agree! She is a nut! So is McCain, Bush, Carter, Clinton, Reagan, Jefferson, etc., etc,. etc,., . . . BUT at least these folks were all born in the USA and their wives/husband were not embarrassed to be American!
  9. Thank you Juliarh! It certainly was exciting!
  10. Congratulations! Soon you'll be right here with us giving advice to all the newbies! The most important thing to remember is follow your doctors orders no matter how tough it seems! Good luck!

  12. I would LOVE a salad! I'm out 1 year and 1 month and those yummy greenery tubs of nutrition cause me such spasms and pain that I can't eat them yet. . . ugh one day this too shall pass!
  13. Thank you coops! Life is good and is just getting better. . . WL doc wanted to know what now? I told him, "we'll see" he said I was afraid you'd say that. . . just don't get too thin ok? NP stated if I got better looking then her she would be hating on me. . . silly woman!
  14. Excellant advice! And I'm so sorry this has happened to you but so glad you got immediate help! Are you doing better?
  15. You've heard this 100 times i'm sure, but it'll be ok. . .I'm sure you want the surgery more then the fear right now right? This was my 18th major surgery and I have a lot of complications with anesthesia too, i was scared poopless, but see I'm still here writing some encouragment to you. . . they had major problems starting my IV this time too and ended up in the jugular after 8 stabs finally got it. . .but hey I'm here! and you will be too! Good luck and know that nervousness and fear is a normal feeling. . .
  16. Im sorry but that is really funny to me. . . i can just see you with this melonballer measuring out your food. . . but I guess we all did things like this in the beginning. . .Good luck your on your way to a thinner you!
  17. B - oatmeal L - sandwich D - lean cuisine S - 1/2 granny smith apple
  18. Wow, scary! Glad your ok though, glad you got follow up care here in the USA
  19. thanks all. . . yes the feeling was awesome, however, I did have that fleeting moment of "how come you actually "see" me now and talk to me face to face, not like before" It's too bad how fat people are kinda placed on the back burner but they don't realize it until something like this happens huh?????
  20. yippee! aren't these great!
  21. Well you did what you felt you needed to do. . . however, you knew the rules, I can't really tell you if you were wrong or right, that is for you to decide, however, if you start having problems are you going to explain to the doctor? Sorry if this sounds harsh, but reality isn't fun and neither is the pain associated with a leak.
  22. Yippee for you and cousin Nick! Welcome and you will both do great!
  23. So I went to my OB/Gyn yesterday for my annual (actually i hadn't been in 2 years) and he hadn't seen me since I weighed 350lbs. . . he wandered in, chart in hand, face in chart and said, "so Mrs. . . . how have you been?" I answered "just fine" . . . he looks up from the chart and literally yelled "LOOK AT YOU!" OH MY GOSH WOULD YOU LOOK AT YOU!!!!!!! YOU LOOK GREAT! then he calmed down and asked how I did it, I told him and he said "well good for you! I can't get over how good you look" . . . I must have been blushing cause he just smiled and said amazing. . . did the exam and actually talked to me. . . talked to me about my family, my work, how i was feeling etc. . . wow it was really a NSV. . . kinda embarrassing but nice. . . Then I went to the WLS nut and this was my last visit and I have hit the target weight! I was soo happy . . . NP and I both did the happy dance. . (she is so cool) I don't go now til 2012. . . wow can you believe it's been a year!
  24. Hey! I'm 1 year 1 month out now and can get down 6 - 8 oz comfortably but forget about trying to get down "just one more bite" then I'm uncomfortable. I time myself to have my meals completed in about 30 minutes and if i'm not done, too bad, out it goes. . .
  25. And how happy you will be ! Just be patient in the beginning and remember it's a re-learning phase ok. . . and yes eat only a couple of bites here and there is normal and so is only being able to sip here and there. . . it's going to feel weird to you and you might have buyers remorse, but it's normal and you'll do fine! Soon you'll be here telling us all about it and then you'll be helping the newbies and giving advise too. . . good luck, you'll be fine and being nervous and "freaked" is very normal. . . but this was my 18th major surgery and i'm still here and yup i was nervous too. . . keep us posted!!! GOOD LUCK
