    I saw your pictures and you look beautiful. I am very interested in your story. I started at the same weight you did. I was banded on August 28, 2009. I have lost a little over 40 pounds. I used to look like you. Can't wait to get there. Give me your routine.

    Hi I would be happy to be one of your many new friends. We are sisters in this exclusive club and need to share with each other and support each other. I was banded on the 27th of August and I have lost 19 lbs since my surgery. My clothes are getting baggy and I feel so much better all ready. I am so excited about losing weight and looking better. It is a matter of me living longer and enjoying life more so I am totally committed.

    Hi You are really very funny. Don't know what you do for a living but you should write a column for your local. Even better, write a book. Don't know if you are old enough to remember a famous author Erma Bombeck (sp?)? She did satirical writing and was very famous and very rich.

    Being borad and eating!!

    Hi I think I am much like you. I was a big late night snacker so I think it is habit more than anything. I have found chewing gum helps but I also reach for a sugar free popsicle. That and lots of water helps.

    September 2009 Band Date

    Hi I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work part time the followng Tuesday. Worked half days Tues,Wed and then full days on Thurs/Fri. Had the weekend to rest up. I think it is truly up to each person as to how they are feeling and when they are ready. You will know it.

    I was banded on the 27th of August and I am feeling really good. I have lost a total of 21 lbs pre-op and post-op. I know we are supposed to lose slowly but I want to lose fast. Started exercising this week. On a mushy diet for this and next week then I can introduce soft foods.

    Hi, I was banded on the 27th. I seem to have more energy but finding the motivation is harder. I am walking after work in the park near my building. If I change and put on sneakers at the office I do not go home first and find an excuse not to walk. I enjoy walking and I am going to start doing hand weights at night when I watch television. I know that if I can get into a pattern I will benefit. How are you doing on the diet with mush food?

    Hi I wish I could give you some words of wisdom but I don't have any that will make a difference unless you are ready to do this. I too have been fat all of my life (since age 6). I love food and it has been my comfort for many of my life experiences. I am finally ready to lose weight and keep it off because it has become a health issue for me. I have everything wrong with me that is associated to being overweight and I am the proverbial walking time bomb for stroke or heart attack. I DO NOT WANT TO DIE!!!!. That is my inspiritation. I have a wonderful husband, family and grandchildren to live for. You need to find the focus for you and what will inspire you to do this and stay true.

    Old clothes be gone!

    You are doing so well. Congrats!!!! I plan to (when I get to my goal) to throw out everything that has gotten too big. I don't want any old clothes hanging around for me to slip back into. I figure if I finally get a new wardrobe for the "new me" that I will only have those clothes and that will keep me from gaining. As I weigh myself to keep track it will be in the back of my mind that if I am not careful, I will be going to work naked. That thought alone is the impetus I need to keep on track. I also think that with only one wardrobe if I start to fall "off the diet wagon" and my clothes start feeling tight, that will be my signal to stop eating for a while and do a liquid week. I have been fat since I was six years old and this is it for me ladies. No More.

    :tt2:I echo the sentiments of the others who responded to you. My dream is to say that I lost 100 pounds. I have a personal question for you. Did you lose anything substantive in your breasts? I am extremely large breasted (size 44-H) and I am praying I lose them.

    No matter what people say or think you need to get into a place where the only opinions that matter are yours. We all got fat on our own and we are the only ones who can stop this unhealthy eating and life with all kinds of health issues. Grab a hold of yourself and hold your head up high. Believe in yourself. You are the captain of your destiny.

    Cute name. My name is JoAnn and I was banded on the 27th of August. Tomorrow I start week 3 of my six week post-op diet and I see my surgeon on Friday for my first post-op checkup. I am feeling good and doing well.

    September 2009 Band Date

    Hi I was banded on the 27th. I hate the liquid as well but it pays off. Lost 16 lbs since surgery. Going to see my surgeon on Friday for two week post-op check up. Week 3 starts for me tomorrow and I can move into pureed foods. How disgusting does that sound? I am sticking with soups and jello until the end of weeks 3 and 4 and then I am allowed to introduce soft foods. Looking forward to a tuna fish sandwich or some scrod.

    :cursing:HI I was banded on the 27th of August. Starting week 3 tomorrow. Pureed foods. ECK!!!!! I am sticking with soups. Dying to have real food with some texture and substance but also a little leery about swallowing.

    :tt2:Yes, Jello is going to become your new best friend. I find I like it less cold than staight out of the frig. Kind of weird for me because I have always been a nut for cold as cold and hot as hot. No middle ground.

    Good luck and keep positive thoughts. I too was exactly like your posting, lose but not able to maintain. I made the decision you finally came to as well. Banded on the 27th of august, lost 15 pounds and looking forward to more.

    Finally Banded!

    :thumbup:I am 10 days post-op and feeling well. Lost 15lbs so far. I too hate the liquid, popsicles, broth, etc. but it is not that long before we can have real food. I enter the 3rd week on Thursday and I am allowed pureed food. How digusting does that sound? I told my doc that I could not do that and he said just stick with the full liquids until the end of week four when I can introduce soft foods. Yea, real food.

    Hi I was banded the day before you on the 27th? How are you doing? I feel great and have lost 15 lbs already. Liquid diet sucks but can handle it for 3 1/2 more weeks.

    eating

    Lots of water, chicken broth, jello. First week not fun. I am at the end of my second week and have started eating Lipton soup. Love the taste and tolerating well. I did try mashed potatoes last night and I think that was a mistake. Could not sleep all night. Not ready for that yet. Starting Thursday is the beginning of my third week. My diet protocol is for pureed foods for 3rd and 4th week. Told my doctor I could not stand looking at pureed food. He said I could stay on the full liquid but not to move to soft foods until the diet allowed. I think he is right. I see him on Friday for my first post-op visit.
